Ran a few errands along Hawthorne Blvd when hunger pangs kicked in. I also wanted to try something new and as I drove by, this popped out more than any other place. So I turned into the parking lot. It was early lunch-ish so the line was short. My go-to was the steak and AYCE shrimp back in the day, but knowing my metabolism is not as high, decided on the steak and jumbo crispy shrimp. Got an Arnold Palmer to wash it down. Sat on a booth, welcomed by my awesome server Ebony not too long after, got my receipt and was back not too long after that with my grub. Service was fast! My steak was a perfect medium. Jumbo crispy shrimp was made to order hot, crispy on the outside juicy in the inside and rice pilaf was perfect. Other than a dab of A1 steak sauce here and there, seasoning on everything on my plate was amazingly delicious and satisfying. FOOD: 5. Excellent. It's exactly what I wanted and got! SERVICE: 5. Ebony checked on me often to make sure I had everything I needed. She picked up clutter I may have built up. She was perfect. VALUE: 5. Not too bad for the quality and quantity. PARKING: Private lot shared with others. Huge. Not an issue. OVERALL: 5. The experience was so good, I came through a second time with company before I got the chance to write a review. Ebony, once again, was excellent. On a personal note, Sizzlers brings back so many childhood memories. As a kid, we frequented their location in K*Town back in the day for special occasions. That totally hit the mark on these last two visits. Can't wait to go back!

I haven't been to a sizzler in like 20yrs!! I was craving a steak and was in the area.. why not give it a try! Man I got a New York steak perfectly medium. The mashed potatoes were just okay I would explore other sides. The salad bar was totally worth it, the dessert was soooo goood as well. That brownie / ice cream combo is chef's kiss. I was taken care of so well here. The staff on the floor and cashier were all kind. Only thing I'd change here is being able to tip after eating. I accidentally skipped it and felt hesitant in what to tip since I had not received food or service. NOW I am leaving feeling guilty because everything was AWESOME!!!! I will be back!!

It was a nice presentation and full experience. We enjoyed the cotton candy wagyu, prior to having our tasty ribeye with the truffle potatoes. Ending dinner with crème brûlée cheesecake, matcha parfait and some vanilla ice cream. I'd definitely recommend everyone to try the cotton candy wagyu, it was a fun, tasty bite. The ribeye was amazing, flavorful and just the right size. The truffle potatoes were shared, which means it was a generous portion. I could have eaten it all by myself of how tasty they were-lol. The service was great, from host to servers. Very friendly and polite. Plenty of parking is available considering it's in a small shopping center. I'm not much of an alcohol drinker, however notice they had a nice bar, with hooks for the ladies to store their purse while there. Overall, a nice place to enjoy a tasty meal!

The dining room is relatively small, with roughly 10 to 15 tables, and the two employees working the floor were hustling all evening and did a genuinely nice job taking care of everyone. The food itself was solid. The standout dish of the night was actually the grilled asparagus, which came with a soy-based preparation that was absolutely outstanding, perfectly tender and cooked just right. The wedge salad was also very good, and both the 16oz ribeye@$86, and the 8oz filet mignon @$76 were well prepared and enjoyable. Where things became more complicated for me was the overall value proposition. The prices are undeniably steep, especially for Lomita. Whenever I dine somewhere upscale, I inevitably ask myself whether, for the same money, I would have rather gone somewhere else. In this case, the answer was yes. I was also a bit disappointed to discover that there is no full bar. The restaurant seems to steer guests toward wine and sake, with only a handful of beer options available. Unfortunately, the first two beers I ordered, an IPA and then a Modelo, both on the menu, both out of stock, which certainly didn't help my overall impression. The dining room itself felt somewhat drab, all black walls, and lacked the refinement that I would expect at this price point. Dark walls and a crystal chandelier create an interesting contrast, but small details stood out for the wrong reasons. For example, I noticed exposed holes in the bar where a purse hook or latch had apparently been relocated. It may seem minor, but details like that matter when you're charging premium prices. At the end of the night, my wife and I walked out more than $300 lighter. While the food was undeniably good and the service was attentive, the experience simply didn't feel like a $300 evening to us. Overall, The Food Library delivers quality food and hardworking service, but for the price, I left wishing the atmosphere and overall experience matched the bill a bit more closely.

We ordered our drinks and one appetizer which came out in about 10 mins. We ordered our food at 1:50pm. It is now 3:10 pm. You do the math. People around our table who got here before us still didn't get their food either. The server came by after 45 mins and apologized and admitted they were not prepared. The server offered complimentary bottomless mimosas which was appreciated but didn't make up for the wait. Literally 3 tables next me were so unhappy. I had to apologize to my mom for the wait at I hope this would be a great steakhouse experience. Sad to report I won't be coming here again. It's nostalgic, cozy, classy and proudly old‑school in the best possible way. Cause I'm an "old school" kind of person! Let's talk about the food (aka: The Reason They've Been Voted Best Steakhouse 13 Years Straight) Let's talk about the the star of the show, Diamond Jim Cut -- 19oz of prime rib glory. Medium, juicy, tender, and so perfectly seasoned it felt like the chef whispered affirmations to it before plating. This thing didn't just sit on the plate, it posed and winked at me. It had main‑character energy. Honestly, the steak looked at me like, "You sure you're ready for this?" Respectfully, I was not... but I still finished it like a champion. Everything else? Straight hits: * Prime Rib Special, classic, comforting, and exactly what a 1960s steakhouse should taste like. * Grilled Jumbo Shrimp, big enough to file taxes. So delicious! * Sautéed Mushrooms, wow...wow...wow, buttery, earthy, and the perfect sidekick to the prime rib. * New England Clam Chowder, so creamy, hearty, and not shy with the clams. Love it! * Shrimp Cocktail, very classy and retro, refreshing, and served like it's still 1969 (in a good way). Super delicious! The service here is chef's‑kiss classic. Truly excellent and the staff, very warm, attentive, and smooth, the kind where the staff checks in just enough to make you feel taken care of but never interrupts your prime‑rib spiritual experience. Plates come out hot, drinks land quickly, and everyone moves with that confident rhythm of a team that's been doing this for decades. Super big thanks for all that you do! This place has that retro steakhouse charm that feels like stepping into a vintage movie set. Dark wood, red leather, dim lights, and a vibe that says, "Order a martini and talk about business you don't actually have." It's cozy, nostalgic, and honestly refreshing in a world full of neon‑lit modern restaurants. At one point, the Diamond Jim Cut was so massive I considered calling for backup. I swear the prime rib looked at me like, "Buddy... this is a commitment." The jumbo shrimp were so big I almost asked them what gym they go to. And the clam chowder? Thick enough to patch drywall. San Franciscan is a South Bay legend for a reason, amazing 13 years of "Best Steakhouse" isn't luck. It's the food, the service, the old‑school charm, and the fact that they deliver exactly what a classic steakhouse should: big flavors, big portions, and a big nostalgic vibe that hits every time. We will definitely be revisiting here in the near future. What a great place! Miguel C.

The lady ended up going to the bar with her husband and friend. She is an embarrassment. Again, no fault of the restaurant. We had a great team who worked beyond hard and provided great service. I loved the limoncello martini and cucumber martini. Grey Goose is my favorite along with crème brûlée so I knew this night would be a good one. Thomas, is such a delight. We hope to see him again. We are astonished by his great service. His attention to detail all the time while providing excellent service with a smile. He was so friendly and made sure we and others were taken care of. This Torrance location has been one that we have come to since I was a little girl. It's really sad to see them closing but I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing all of these lovely workers at the new place. The restaurant has an old school western style and feel.

I cannot speak to the dinner menu so this review is strictly tied to my lunch experience. Apparently the lunch menu is changing but there's not much to pick from as of right now. However, I'll mention the flavor of the meals for the steak items was really good. My dad really enjoyed his steak frites and my side order of the NY steak was very tasty. I will mention the portion size was fairly small for $20 IMO but there was not a lot of options for someone looking for gluten free items. The server even said "oh for gluten free you're pretty limited to the salad" so this isn't somewhere to go if you're looking for GF. At least not for lunch. The server was really nice but the service was pretty slow. We spent a bit of time just looking around for our server or someone to help us. I'll also mention the lunch menu does not offer a dessert menu so if you're looking for a treat at the end of your meal, you can always walk to the riviera and grab something at another restaurant. The inside of this space is very nice and there was plenty of nice natural light coming through, which I loved since the day outside was so pretty. I'll have to come back to check out the dinner options and service, but overall it was just an okay first visit. Overall for lunch it's an average experience but again I have not been for dinner so will need to re-review once I've made it back.

Let's not get political (please) - it's Yelp after all…read more I chose here this year for my husband's annual birthday brunch! He loves a decadent brunch. Who doesn't? And after a number of years patroning the Four Season's Beverly Hills brunch on Doheny I wanted to try something new. There's not many decadent, birthday worthy brunch options in our post Covid world. So when I found this one, read the menu and saw the price point I was ALL in. And my goodness it blew last year at the four seasons away by a lot!!! (They dipped significantly after Covid - not the same value). The Trump had EVERYTHING you could want in a brunch. Sushi, free flowing champagne, prime rib, crepes, crab, waffles, eggs Benedict, pancakes, chocolate dipped fruit, breads, bagels, cheeses, salad, Korean short ribs, shrimp, shrimp scampi, pasta, omelettes, oysters, fruit & figs, and sausage & bacob. I know for a fact I am missing offerings. It was world class, A+ with live music and wonderful service. The views of the pacific were gorgeous on our blustery day. My goodness it was so pretty. We were not rushed at all. It wasn't cramped or crowded. I loved it! And I'd definitely make this a recurring birthday treat for him. It was absolutely worth it.

The food was great! No complaints there. The service however, was absurd! Actually, non-existent…read more The table next to us literally had to go to the bar and retrieve their own drinks. No one checked on us, it took way too long to get served and when we finally did, it was with an attitude. Our appetizer order was also forgotten. The restaurant had only 2 tables of guests, including us. Shocking for a Saturday night. So the excuse of being busy isn't going to fly here. We will not be back. Although I enjoyed the food, being ignored and treated like crap doesn't make it worth it. If you want decent food, excellent service by the sea, I'd recommend going to Redondo Beach or Hermosa Beach. ANYWHERE but here!
