I had the privilege of BJ's being one of the first restaurants I went to when I moved to Houston. It may be a chain restaurant, but with the big portions, great pizza, and terrific house brews it easily surpasses the other chain restaurants. Upon arrival the group was sat in a large semicircle booth and brought water and drinks immediately. We decided to try an appetizer, Thai Shrimp Lettuce Wraps, the waiters recommendation that did not disappoint. Following the app and a second round of the delicious house brews the deep dish pizza arrived. AMAZING! The group split three (Great White, Classic, and Hawaiian) and I would recommend all of them. Decided to try this restaurant on Friday night after seeing that they had an allergen-friendly menu available. We were a little ahead of the dinner rush, so we had no wait for a table, Looking at the allergen menu, I was pleased to see that BJ's covered the entire menu, and accounted for all major food allergies. It didn't help me find a wide variety of safe foods however - gluten-and-dairy free foods - there were literally only 3 entree choices on the entire menu. I opted for the sirloin steak, baked potato and asparagus (after being assured that neither the steak nor the asparagus were cooked in butter). Our waiter went out of his way to ensure that my meal was prepared correctly, even bringing me some EVOO for my potato, so that it wouldn't be dry (it had bacon and chives as well) No allergic reactions, so they apparently got it all right..we'll be back! read more

The Lunch specials are a good price for the food so definitely a good deal. The food here is decent although I'd stick with the well known dishes like pizza or safety picks like burgers. Big TV's everywhere so if you don't like sports or loud crowds you probably shouldn't come here. And if you DO like sports, you probably shouldn't come here unless you want to sit at the bar. It's hard to really watch the TV's just because the place is so big - you can watch but you won't be engaged if know what I mean. Service is just average, nice waiter/waitress the past few times I've been but the food takes a while to come out. So overall....average restaurant. But the important thing is that it is CONSISTENTLY average. I've never had extra poor service for example or bad food come out. So if you just want to eat and don't want to take any risks, BJ's is a decent bet. read more

BJ's has decent prices and good customer service. I'm not big on American style food all the time (* greasy or fried tend to be staples) and so bj's is a once a month or less type trip. The drinks are good and so are the apps. If you are going to order food I suggest burgers,sandwhiches,and pizzas. Places that have huge menus aren't known for the best food in all categories and this remains true with BJ's. Good for dates, and family night alike. I once had the chicken parmegiana and thought I might just have a heart attack at the table for all the butter they used.....it wasn't fantastic but it was a huge order, HUGE. My mom and I ate dinner at BJ's for the first time in 2 years. The food was terrible. The chili I got was cold. The server took the chili back but it almost seemed as though it was an imposition. The salad my mom got was old dead tired lettuce. The appetizers we got was burned. The server did take the appetizer off of the bill. That is why I'm giving the rating 2 stars. I've been to several BJ'S and this is the first time I've been to this one. I started with a BLT Salad, it was good but if I had my choice I'd make it with Romaine lettuce in stead of Spinach. I also had the baked Zita. It was very good but It's made with Penne pasta not Ziti pasta....I grew up in New York and most of my friend's last names end with the letter "O" so I know Italian food.! I love the house beer selection here! It is the main reason I come to BJ's. Tonight I tried the Nutty Brewnette and the Berry Blast Cider and both are VERY GOOD! The cider is sweet, crisp and refreshing! Great job! I had it after the Nutty Brewnette and I think the contrasting tastes really worked. Kind of like eating salty pop corn and then a chocolate treat at the movies. So BJ'S needs to start selling shirts with their beer logos!!!! I'd buy one! Two! Or Three! On a negative note the kitchen was slow at getting the food out. Especially on a night that was not that busy, the place was barley a third full! Party of 9 was seated promptly, great service and food come out in a timely manner! Impressive for a Friday at 630-7pm. Ben the manager stopped by and spent some time with us. He certainly cares about his customers and made sure we knew to talk to him about any issues. The New tritip on the featured menu is delicious,the bone in double chop also cooked to perfection. I'd also recommend the full rack of ribs.My daughter left her purse there (imagine that) thankfully we got it back and nothing was missing. FAILED! Friday night, trying to figure out what to eat in the area. Almost every restaurant out here, I've either tried it, didn't like it or getting tired of eating of the same place over and over. So we're driving around the area trying to figure out what to eat and to see if we've tried any other new places yet. I heard that BJ's was a good place to dine at. So we decide to check it out. Since it's a Friday of course it will be busy. The wait for 2 people was only 20 mins so it was ok. Waiter was cute and nice. Gave good detail of the menu order. I wanted to try the beers there since its a brewery. Well didn't get to try any of the beers cause their fridge or cooler was broken so there was no cold draft beers except bottles. How the hell you gonna have a brewery and not have cold draft beers?!? I ended up getting a Corona.. We tried the Avocado eggrolls and it wasn't that bad. I think this was way better than my damn fish tacos. I'm a big fan of fish tacos. I asked the waiter if it was good and he said yes since he loved fish tacos too. I trusted him and got the fish tacos. When I got my fish taco, it was ehhh, the only freaking problem was it wasn't grilled. I prefer grill over fried. Plus the stupid fish looks like a freaking fish stick! WTF?!?! If I wanted fish sticks, I would of ordered it. Why would you give me fish sticks as a fish tacos?!?! BJ's is like a mini- Cheesecake Factory in terms of the ridiculous amount of items on their menu, and you have to know what to get or you'll be smack in the middle of "meh" city. Think upscale Chili's fare (with bonus pizza!) The pizza is the best thing about this place. With the wide availability of good craft beer in the area, the need for a sub-par brew pub is nil, but then again BJ's is a monster chain to be reckoned with. The beers range from middle-of-the-road to just plain mundane and all the way back to so-so. I like that they added the "small bites" section of the menu to beef up their (often) scant entrees. The size of the appetizers is almost laughable. We've had nearly every appetizer, from avocado egg rolls to calamari to buffalo wings and while boyfriend claims the wings are "boss", I can't say they amount to much above what we could get cheaper elsewhere. Six TINY wings on a plate, that'll be $9 please. The servers are rarely friendly, the hostesses often aloof and busy toiling in teenage angst, and the food is always sluggish getting out of the kitchen. Sit in the bar area, get really good happy hour pricing/specials. If you don't sit in the bar, they won't tell you that happy hour prices do not apply. Enjoy your $60 tab for two! The best thing to do at BJ's is go at happy hour (ends at 7), get a flatbread appetizer pizza on special (don't bother with personal sizes, they're complete rip-offs), and a couple beers. read more

Service was a zero. The two stars are only because the food was decent. Our family of 5 waited 20 minutes for a table Monday evening. Drinks at the bar were fine. Seated then ordered an app and our entrees. Finished our bar drinks shortly after that. Watched our waitress stand by the side exit door at a register with 2 other staff for the next 12-13 minutes. I walked to her and asked for our app and another round of drinks. She nodded and said ok but didn't budge. I went to the bar for drinks for our table. Returned with the drinks and waited a few more minutes then all food arrived. Obviously, the app was old and pretty much a leftover now. The waitress checked by once near the end of the meal. Several of us were done. Plenty of dishes ready to go away. No action. By the time all of us were done, we sat for 10-15 more minutes with a table full of dishes and glasses. No action. As soon as the table next to us was bussed down, I stood and moved all our stuff to that table. Thought someone might get the hint. Nope. Waitress eventually came around and offered dessert and the check. I think our host left $5 tip with a note that the service was awful. I hope this was our waitress' first day and the manager and training staff were out with the flu. There's no other reason to be left in the breeze like we were. The pizza and burger and tacos and steak were generally ok. No complaints on the entrees but it'll be a long time, if ever again, that we choose BJs to eat and drink. read more

Bj's has a very large and diverse menu. Pizzas have been good along with the burgers. You can find just about anything u want here. Beer selection is large. I love the home brewed root beer which comes with Unlimited refills. They also have a Large selection of small bite appetizers. Anything from Mac and cheese to flat breads to pot stickers. I love the individual 1 topping Pizza and Tortilla soup (substituted from salad). Edited to give a star: the chicken pitas on the enlightened menus is amazing!!! Super sad they got rid of the pizza dip though We've visited this location off and on throughout the years. It's never been a first choice for us, but it is pretty good. The price is a bit high for the quality of the food, but it's a nicer establishment so I guess you can at least feel fancy as you dine on your sufficient meal. We really enjoy the fish tacos and the new pepperoni dip is actually really tasty! The pizza is okay, but we're not really deep dish fans. My 8 year old loved the kids meal cheese pizza though. My 6 year old really enjoys the fruit that comes with her entree, but has yet to find an entree she enjoys. We keep going back because my husband keeps getting b1g1 free entree coupons in his email. Next time I think I'll try something different and will hopefully update my review with the results read more

I went this past friday and I was going to dine in but the host at the front were kind of rude and on their phones and I really didn't feel like waiting. I ended up deciding to do togo which I don't usually do but I was already there. I didn't know what I wanted so I asked the to go girl for some suggestions I think her name was jackie she suggested the parmesan chicken and thats what I got, along with the tortilla soup. Good food, good beer, lots of TV's, and a nice atmosphere - BJ's is my go-to sit-down pizza restaurant in Clear Lake. Their pizza is great - the crust is thick (but not too thick) and has a great flavor. We usually order the BJ's Favorite and hold the meatballs (not sure why, we just think it tastes better without them). Their beers are good... St. Arnold's brews them locally so they are relatively fresh even though they aren't actually brewed in the tanks at the front of the restaurant. They always have a seasonal on tap along with four or five year-round offerings (in addition to the usual restaurant beer offerings). So try it out sometime - if there's a wait, it's usually not long and they are somehow usually pretty quick about getting big groups sat even when the place is hopping. read more

Had we not ordered the Mac I'd have surely sent it back. My husband and I enjoy going to BJs for a casual lunch or night out. They have an extensive menu. My husband loves to get their pepperoni extreme pizza. I'm not a fan of it(I prefer NY pizza), but he says it is great. I have a couple of favorites: Mahi Mahi tacos and the Parmesan crusted chicken. The fish tacos are SO flavorful. I get the fish grilled and it is flaky with great taste. The meal comes with chips and salsa, but I don't even care about that since the tacos are so good. The chicken is to die for! You get two thin cut breasts with excellent breading. They top it with sun dried tomatoes and basil plus this lemon cream sauce that you'll want to drink, it is so good! The chicken comes with broccoli and white cheddar mashed potatoes. This meal may not be low carb, but it is worth it. There is enough food that I always end up taking some home for later. Another favorite is the fish and chips. The fish is not overly greasy and they always cook it just right. Also, if you ask, they will bring you malt vinegar. I am not a beer drinker, but I love their house-made root beer. It rivals the root beer Tom Wahl's makes in my hometown in NY. My husband is a beer drinker and loves their Jeremiah Red (I think that's what it's called). Food was pretty tasty. The service was ok. Not exceptional but I can see how if you don't keep the waiter in check they will get away from you. I read a lot about the avocado egg rolls and tried them. They were good the sauce was great but they were pretty mushy and once cold not appetizing. My biggest complaint was I ordered two Red Buffalos one was perfect but the second was totally wrong. The waiter asked if I had a problem with it and I said I didn't think it was a Red Buffalo. He took it back to the bar and the bar tender claimed it was a Red Buffalo and that it was just cloudy. Now I have been drinking Back and Tans for many years and various Black and something combinations. The beer they brought me just didn't measure up. So after letting it settle for several minutes it still didn't look right and the taste was definitely WRONG. I finally sent it back and the manager got involved although he and the bar tender maintained it was a Red Buffalo. Claiming it was due to a barrel change. I'm sorry it can't be true. I changed my order to a Dark Castle and it was perfect. Needless to say I will probably be back. But if your into beer as I am and that's the reason I wanted to try this place. Don't let them try to pull the proverbial wool over your eyes and serve you something you didn't order. Especially since we ordered Hefeweizen but got a Blonde. read more

Although the first two were up to par, the salad was severely lacking as there wasn't even much salad and there was only a few lettuce pieces. We're going south of Hooters... If you serve food that's going to truly "score".. give it a name that's above 7th grade humor. I'll carry on,... the food is a firm medium. ( They really must bank on their name ) The menu is overwhelming . A few choices in appropriate categories give one the ability to focus on a choice. How fresh and cooked with no microwave can you get with 11 - chicken entrees , some beefed up beef, a selection of seafood...THEN.... The creative team has a section, wait for it..... "enlightened offerings" What's does that mean ? It does NOT mean lighter, or lower calorie choices. Gosh, a 540 calorie salad, a 1040 calorie spicy chicken noodle dish. Waiting for my friends, I sat at the bar.. I sat,&sat, and sat.... I was asked "'what do you want? I thought the girl that walked behind the bar was answering a cell, no, that's just her best offer. My buddies show up as I passed on answering to a demand. We go for sliders ,calamari, and a queso dip.... Scale of of 1 to 5? 5 being best- Solid 2 on all 3. The staff seems more interested in getting everyone out , so we paid and got on out. To make the experience really good.. This was my first time trying this restaurant. I ordered a meal to go and I must say I was surprised at how delicious and fresh my meal was. I ordered the turkey burger with a baked potato and also had the blackened shrimp. The toppings on the sandwich went together so well and the baked potato was cooked perfectly! As for the blackened shrimp, that alone will be the reason I return. It was seasoned well and the cook on it was spot on!!! Can't wait to dine in with them!! This place is a must try! read more

Went here for some lunch, I asked for well done burger and when I got it, it was pink in the middle and the fries were ice cold. So sent it back and said extra well done cause obviously they didn't know what that meant and still came out the same. But I ate it anyway cause I was so hungry, hopefully I do not get sick. And also the burgers have no flavor whatsoever, they were bland. My friend had fish tacos that came out and was cold. So she ended up sending that back and got the chicken salad, the chicken was cold as well and tasted like processed chicken. But she ended up eating it cause she was really hungry as well. And they took forever to get out food to us, so we just wanted to eat and leave. When we were done we went to the restroom and they were filthy really really filthy. And we let the manager know, he went to one of the girls to tell her to have someone check the women's restroom and we heard her say someone just checked them, Obviously they did not because it was so dirty, the floor was so sticky and toilet paper everywhere. We always came here and never had bad service, never had to send anything back. It wasn't the waiters fault he was really nice. Unfortunately they refused to honor the free veterans meal if you order take out. I never thought this company would value money over veterans. But they do.
