My husband and I are from Iowa where cow are plenty with an abundance of steak houses. We've had some of the best steak America has to offer. Tonight we needed steak. Normally we look at reviews before we head out but instead wound up at Black Angus on a whim and a prayer. Wow were we pleasantly suprised and grateful to find one of the best Primes and Filet we both have ever had! Not only the food but our server Laurie was an absolute gem. She was prompt, attentive, and responsive. It's like she read our minds. We never had to ask for anything. The decor upon entering is fun but the dining room is a little dated. It has been years since we visited a Black Angus. Sadly, the years have not been kind. Very poor quality meats (ribeye and prime rib), baked potato soup was inedible, and cheesy bread was nothing like it used to be. Lobster tail was fine as was the Ceasar salad. This level if quality at exorbitant prices is not acceptable. Shame, as we always enjoyed this steakhouse chain in the 90s. read more

Pretty disappointed in this location, things started off great as far as our starters but the drinks were wrong. Which we decided to over look but after a 35 minute wait, our steaks were served. My husband a prime rib, that was over cooked and I, a ribeye, that actually came out as a NY strip. We sent it back and was finally given the correct cut of steak but it honestly looked like it was microwaved till done then thrown on the grill for grill marks. With the price you pay here, I'd hope to have at least a decent steak. Such a bummer. read more

I had an outstanding visit to this Black Angus from the moment I walked in. The hostess greeted me warmly, with a smile and a ready table. When I indicated I needed to use the ladies room,she motioned to the table and gave restroom directions and said a plate would be waiting for me when I returned, which it was. My water with lemon was quick to arrive, as was my waiter, who apologized for not getting over faster. I hadn't been into a Black Angus for years and needed a minute, anyway. My server was professional, polite, and very capable. The food was perfect-- especially delicious was my wedge salad and the Creme Brulee'. Recommend highly! read more

Another GREAT experience at this location. The staff is friendly. Nick our server was fantastic! He was kind and attentive. We were a party of eight for my mom's birthday and everything was perfect. I love that the salad is served on a cold plate with a cold fork. I recommend the vinaigrette dressing. It's creamy but light. Our steaks were all cooked to our liking. Fantastic experience! I took my whole family here on Mother's Day, I reserved a table for 10 but had to change it to 12 on the day of. The staff was gracious and helpful and were able to make the adjustment with no problem. I even dropped off 5 small flower arrangements for all the mothers in my group and the staff was kind enough to decorate the table with them before we arrived! Our server Brock was exceptional, he was patient, friendly and funny even with all the requests from our large group. The manager Kyle came over and checked on us as well and made my family feel very welcome. As weekly patrons of Black Angus we always receive the best service. We make reservations and are greeted by name. Roger and his team are nothing less than top notch in customer service. Diane is our regular server and she even knows our selections by heart. Diane is fun, personable and makes the dinner so enjoyable. She never misses a beat while tending to all her other customers the same way. Jorge is fantastic and always stops by the table to say hello. The food is prepared correctly and comes out of the kitchen in perfect intervals so you are not rushed or waiting between courses. Many restaurants cut corners in food quality after Covid but Black Angus in Mesa is not one of them. They are our preferred steakhouse over some very high end options. read more

Service was ok, better than others. I went to cheesecake factory the night before and they didn't care at all. The food at Black Angus wasn't that great. The potatoe skins were gummy like they were sitting around long. The meat was ok. The steak was better than the ribs, ribs a little dry. Overall ok, but I get much better BBQ up in Cody Wyoming. I felt like they waited very long to come get the order in. I did say a "few minutes" but they took much much longer. Then I felt rushed to get out before closing. It wasn't a horrible experience, or a great one, but right in the middle. For the $80 for two people after tip,I left a good tip, id rather go somewhere else next time. To be honest I get better food at IN and OUT, lol. I just better service from a Chinese restaurant offering $10 meals! Again, it wasn't horrible, but right in the middle. read more
