To the GENERAL MANAGER... I sure hope the new surprise $3.25 "service charge" you started placing on your bills recently was worth it. Because you lost this customer over it, and my family who's been coming there about once a month for over a decade. That three bucks will cost you hundred$$ from me alone. Nobody likes being "nickel and dimed", especially when it's comes out of nowhere. It's not the $3, it's the principle - how it makes your customers feel when they've already noticed steady price increases on your menu year over year. I wouldn't have yelped you over this on its own, but since I'm already here, the service was pretty bad tonight too. After waiting about 15 minutes after being served, I had to wander 1/2 way into the kitchen myself just to get some ketchup for my kid's hot dog that had gone cold hoping the waitress would return much sooner. My wife's "medium rare" steak was well done and gray. When the waitress finally came back to check on us, she took the steak back and returned 10 min later with probably the rarest steak I've ever seen. My wife was left wondering if this was a low key "f u" from the cook for sending the first piece of leather back. The rest of us were done eating by then anyway, and my wife was over trying any more at that point, so she decided to just box it up and finish cooking it herself. Clown show. read more

Manager is super nice. Casual chain spot, but it's moody in a way that it's warm and inviting. I get the steak every time. It's always between the ribeye and the NY steak. Went to Black Angus in San Bernardino on Saturday. The restaurant was empty so the hostess sat us down quickly to wait for our waiter/waitress. We sat down and after waiting 15 minutes, nobody came to our table so we got up and started walking to the exit. The clueless hostess even thanked us for our coming in while we walked out the door. Bad Service! We drove about 15 minutes more to the Black Angus in Ontario and their service was excellent!! If I could give zero stars, I would. I hadn't been to Black Angus in quite a while, and I was excited to go back because it used to be a solid steakhouse for us. Unfortunately, this visit was underwhelming. I ordered the steak salad, and while the salad itself tasted good, the steak was surprisingly chewy. Some bites were fine, but a lot of it was so tough I couldn't eat it. I actually had to spit pieces out into my napkin, which is embarrassing when you're sitting in a restaurant -- especially at a place known for steak. That alone really threw me off. Someone in our group had the prime rib sandwich, and just from the way they kept looking at it, you could tell it wasn't that good either. Overall, the food quality just wasn't what I remember, and the prices have gone up quite a bit, which makes the disappointment even bigger. To be fair, the staff was nice, the food came out warm, and service wasn't the issue. It just feels like the quality has slipped, and the restaurant doesn't have the same comfortable feeling it used to. Considering we traveled a ways to get there, it made the whole experience feel even less worth it. I don't think we'll be going back unless things improve. Disappointing. I should have known to never order prime rib at 4:30 pm because it's basically last night's left over reheated and closer to well done than the medium rare I requested. I was really impressed coming here! I haven't been here in years, but I see that they have recently (or maybe not so recently since it's been years) re did the inside?? it's definitely clean inside including the bathrooms, which is always a plus for me. It did take a while for our servers to greet us, but it also was a Tuesday night and so it didn't look like they had a lot of staff scheduled. Once our server came, she took our order right away and the food came out expeditiously. I was so impressed with how well the food tasted. The only negative thing I would say is we got the chicken and rib with the campfire feast and the chicken was a little on the dry side and pretty thin but the sauce on it made it taste better. I got a ribeye steak and it was cooked just how I ordered it. I was impressed with the size of the kids meals for the price. We were a party of 4, and had dinner there yesterday - a Friday, late afternoon about 4:45. Hostess was enthusiastic and personable, took us quickly to our table where Timdai was our waitperson. It was a quality job by a smiling and enthusiastic wait person. The food was good, as always - I think B.A. has the best salmon around, despite being a steak house. I look at my cousins steak and it was cooked to perfection as well. We come to the restaurant about once a month - it's one of the best in the area (the area itself is experiencing hard times.....). The problem is that Black Angus "updated" their app most likely due to a change in integrated restaurant management using Blissful. What a horrible app it is. After you've signed in, it doesn't remember your favorite store having to (use my location) each time, it doesn't give options for a sidekick garden salad other than the dressings. This became our steakhouse go to for a long time. I never really thought they would be all that much before I started frequenting there. Their steaks are way better than many competitors in their tier. Their regular mashed potatoes are better than garlic mashed or loaded mashed potatoes from many other places I have tried. They need to get more options for salad dressing. I love a good citrus basalmic or vinagrette. They also could benefit with a few more non-alcoholic beverages choices. One thing I love is their horseradish. I get the raw chopped horseradish, the creamy horseradish and mix it with cocktail sauce. I know it sounds weird but I use that as my steak sauce. I perfected the mixture and it tastes so good. Service is usually up to par but once in a while you can get a dud. Another 1-star deduction for the 3% service charge, that is getting way too common these days, and really infuriates the customers. In fact, many like me will NO longer patronize ANY type restaurant that adds such a charge to our bill. The one star is for the server Reyna. Not that good of a server. I had to go get my own refills, when she finally brought one it was in a to go cup and I was still eating. Towards the end I noticed a hair in my food, it was the end it could've been mind. I'm not losing my hair though. The TVs were all on, most were on the world cup game but one or two were on another sport. It wasn't like Reyna was waiting on tons of tables either. From what I could see it was a party of 2 then me then another party of 2. She had to pass by me to get to them. The bartender had more customers, and he was still able to get me my refills. If you decide to go just tell them to sit you anywhere but Reyna's section, trust me. It's like my grandma told one of my uncles: Querías norte aquí se vino a trabajar. Went for Christmas dinner with friends and had a great experience. The atmosphere was lively and festive, and we chose to sit in the bar area, which added to the fun. I ordered the salmon with salad and green beans, along with a pomegranate margarita--three of us had that drink and really enjoyed it. Wanted to share my experience this evening It took 20 minutes just to get acknowledged from the server and to order drinks 25 minutes to get our appetizers which were burnt , salty and overcooked , 40 minutes more to get our dinners , server never came by to check in our dinners after we were served and upon ordering desserts it took 20 minutes to order desserts 20 minutes to get our desserts another 30 minutes just to get our checks upon speaking with the manager. The lobster tails that came with my steak were juicy and delicious, the steak itself was very flavorful and cooked perfectly medium rare. The potato skins are a favorite of mine and didn't disappoint one bit. My boyfriend loved the ribs that he got and practically inhaled them. Our server was kind and very quick. We had issues with the mashed potatoes they had like curly like texture in them and we thought it was like a toenail or like hair. But it freaked us out and we didn't eat it. The server offered a baked potato instead and we said yes, but we never received it. The place was empty when we first came here but that was because it was around 3pm. The place is dark inside and it's very clean and wide open inside. The issue with the mashed potatoes was the only reason for the minus star cuz apparently this happens all the time. What they brought out was a disgusting mass of old prime rib, cut thick like .5" with big pieces oieces of fat and gristle. Absolutely the worst looking french fip ive ever seen. It was embarrassing. Went with the sampler for the starter, 12oz prime rib w/broccoli and green beans and the cheesecake for dessert. Sampler was great and perfect size for one person. I was disappointed in the prime rib and thought it lacked flavor compared to how I prepare them at home. I like to use a good dry rub and fresh garlic cloves.
