They should take this into consideration when pricing. There are many other breakfast buffets that are priced much more favorably and usually have a bigger selection. I opted for the western omlette. It was served with potatos which were fine. The omlette taste fine but was really scrambled eggs with ham and veggies mixed in, cooked, then folded in half and topped with cheese. An omlette with the veggies and cheese stuffed inside a thin egg base is always so much better. Hotel food is usually about convenience, so I got what I expected, decent service, acceptable food and a price point higher than average.

The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. By the time I got my coffee I knew I wanted the Rio grande skillet. I chose pork for the meat. This is a potato base, with chili sauce topped with eggs and veggies served with pancakes. They are famous for the pies and it happens to be free pie Wednesday. This is an older restaurant but it is clean, the food is good and the service is quick. Everything you want in a breakfast spot.

For a very modest price, I had an almost perfect burger and some awesome, house made fries. The burger has an absorbent bun, generous sauce, gooey cheese, and a high quality patty. My only complaints were the meat was under salted and that leaf of lettuce was way too big. When a place serves fries as unique as these, you know they're fresh and authentic. They were smothered in sauce and cheese in a very Utahn manner, and the dried parsley sprinkled on top was awesome. Of course no restaurant is perfect. The burgers with onion rings on them were comically tall so that in order to eat them you have to crush them. I find this an obnoxious form of stunt food, but hey, people like them. I'm not bothered. I was lucky to get there just before the lunch rush. Halfway through my meal, the line was going out the door.

This gravy tastes really familiar to me. I thought I took a picture of my dish. I guess I didn't. The gravy was the same gravy that was on the biscuits and gravy. Again, very familiar with the b & g. The hash browns were cooked in butter not oil and had a nice light brown crust on both sides. I really appreciated this. My scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy and had a nice firm texture. I also ordered the Crazy Eights which is supposed to be "Italian Donuts" with Carmel and chocolate sauce drizzled on top with a chocolate dipping sauce. The "Italian Donuts" turned out to be the Utah Scone chopped up in triangles. I enjoyed the caramel drizzle but not the chocolate sauce, which was too bitter for my tastes. After thinking about why the biscuits and gravy tastes so familiar, they remind me of the biscuits and gravy from the IHG (Holiday Inn, etc) hotels I frequented when I was on the road. These b&g are supplied by Sysco Foods. Like I said, they taste a little too familiar for me. I'm not complaining, I really like these! What I am complaining about is how you order. I think using the phone at the table to order our food reminds me of the old "Training Table" restaurant chain. I didn't appreciate the "rules" on how we needed to order and that we couldn't split the check. They didn't even deliver the food to our table. I definitely won't be leaving a tip for service!
