I had such high hopes when I read the description on this sandwich ! My hubby and I were craving a good dip Sandwich and thought we would give it a try and sadly I was disappointed where is the meat !?'! On the menu it said stacked and clearly that was not the case on our sandwiches. They charged extra for just the cheese alone on mine and we paid extra for the deluxe for the other and it hardly had any onions or mushrooms. The meat was tender and the bread was good as well as the au jus sauce but it was just that ...it was bread and juice with very little meat . Very disappointed with the service and unprofessionalism from the manager here "Cat" or "Kat" who refused to speak with me and my party regarding a request. Typically, there has never been any issues before but this was kind of the last straw we have had. There is no progression but a regression here at this restaurant. They also have not updated their new restaurant number online. If the manager here continues with the same attitude about her attention to detail or concern with her customers, the only thing carrying this place will be her servers who have done a good job. My 6 year old and I went today about 10:30 AM I figured we would have a wait however no wait we walked right in to be seated. This was our first time at this location back in March visited one in Northern CA food and service there was horrible but figured would give it a chance here. Not sure of the servers name very nice young lady. Very pleasant, polite, attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. I went in super hungry so I ordered the dinner plate of meatloaf. I got the salad, cornbread as a starter and it was good. The lettuce I will way was a bit wilted but I have he far worse before from other places so no big deal. When my meatloaf plate came out I couldn't believe the size of it! It was enough for me to have left over for dinner and still unable to finish it. My daughter had the kids tender and fries and of course no complaints from her! Not sure who the server was but she was great! If I could give 0 stars I would. We have never been to this diner before so we were extremely excited to eat there. We immediately encountered some issues. When we ordered our drinks, the hot chocolate was too watery. Right when we started eating, we see a mouse run from the kitchen to the waiting area. Of course we notified a worker right away, which they handle as if they have encountered this problem before. Which leads us to believe that they have a mouse problem. I came here because a few years back they announced they were serving the Beyond Burger. We'll fast forward to now. They don't. They carry the Dr. Prager Veggie burger. Which is made out of soy beans and soy flour. Which I definitely can't eat with my soy allergy. This is a serious disappointment. I've always loved the vibe and environment of the Black Bear diner and the oldies music. Definitely a cozy place to be. Our waitress was very nice but there were some large gaps were she'd go missing for a really long time. Getting the check was a bit difficult since she vanished for a while. My husband and I split the California Omelet no mushrooms but it had far to many onions in it. We had a few other items including the biscuits which were amazing with butter and jelly. However, I was surprised they only had jelly packets and nothing that is fresh made. The fruit bowl was impressive and I'd definitely order that again. It had a variety of fruit that wasn't just cantaloupe. My husband ate the hash-browns and loved them. My mother-in-law and brother-in-law split the Taco Salad and it's huge! It's enough for like 3 people. My favorite part was the Grandma's Famous Berry Cobbler. It was delicious! Over all it was a good experience just wish they had better allergen friendly options. The Beyond Burger is 8 allergens free which is why it's so popular. The other vegetarian burgers aren't that inclusive. I'll be back for biscuits and fruit if nothing else. read more

First of all, this is a great location! Not only was it a safe and clean place for our family, but their parking lot is huge! This is is so convenient for families who drive large vehicles like we do. If you have to gas up, it is right next to a gas station too! As we walked into Black Bear Diner, we waited for our table for no more than 10 minutes. While we were waiting, we totally enjoyed the decor. We all liked the Black Bear theme and the cabin like surrounding. The front desk was right beside a refrigerator that had all their desserts. I was captivated by their pies! I knew that I had to make room in my stomach to have coffee and pie for dessert. The menu is amazing! There's so much to choose from! It was all so difficult for us to decide what to enjoy! Our waitress, Xochitl, was patient, kind, and very personable. We all liked her voice, her humor, her professional and her demeanor. Since we needed more time to order, she brought us our drinks. A few of us decided to go with breakfast, a few of us went with sandwiches, and the rest of us decided on other lunch entrees. When she and another employee brought all of our order, we were impressed by the presentation and how delicious everything was.
