Had to come try this place for breakfast fast since it has been billed-up to me from a couple people, and I'm going to tell you right off the bat....if you love this place, you can stop reading more! lol Let's start with the service which was horrible on a "Covid" weekend morning? We were seating and our waitress passed us up at least 3, 4 times without acknowledgement. Honestly not much of a big thing until you see her bring waters to another couple who were eating right next to us about 5 minutes after we'd already been chewing on our breakfast menu. lol Let's start with an easy one....coffee- it was horrible to say the least. No, not McDonald's horrible because I actually still took a couple drinks but only because I really wanted coffee that morning. Second, I ordered the chicken fried steak & eggs which sounded great, looked heat...kind of started great but just went downhill from there. I think the cook might have forgotten where the spices were that morning. The biscuits were massive but not much flavor, and when I asked for strawberry jam, I was given two small containers, which looked like the ones you get a McDonald's, for two massive biscuits! Was I supposed to lick for flavor with each bite? Needless to say, we won't be going back. Really a shame. Covid has infected this place. They had to shut down like everybody else for a time. When it reopened its never been the same. Instead of spacing they condense everyone into one side or the other of the restaurant. This crams that side and makes it dirty like a Dennys from the 1990's. Staff is flustered and rude now. Came here for breakfast ordered eggs over easy with bacon and pancake. Of the two eggs one was over medium the other one rock hard. Half the bacon was served almost raw. Talked to the waitress advised that the raw bacon needed to be cooked to the level of the other, you guessed it the "cook" sent it back rock hard. Advised the waitress accordingly and was told she let the cooks know, however the now burnt to a crisp bacon was not replaced. In defense of the waitress the restaurant was way understaffed and she was extremely busy trying to handle many customers by herself. The manager of this location is to blame for these issues for not having proper training for the kitchen staff and insufficient staff trying to handle multiple customers including check Broke down and tried them for lunch, 2 of my selections were not available so I settled for meatloaf. Why in the devil would anyone put tons of shredded carrots in their meatloaf what a nasty way to ruin meatloaf. Waiter disappeared after serving the food and didn't show back up until long after I choked down what I could of the meatloaf with carrot filler. Never heard a peep from BBD after the breakfast listed above and bet I won't hear anything about this edit to the list. It's obvious that they originated on the west Coast, carrot filled meatloaf yuck. Don't California my Texas. Should be able to rate them with negative stars but system will not allow that. Just prior to leaving the "Manager" finally showed up to discuss my issues. After stating the issues as detailed above she looked at me and said sorry. I asked her what good is a simple sorry and she said well you already paid your bill so sorry. Didn't offer to refund my money or invite me back to try their place again or anything, just shrugged her shoulders and said sorry. That tells me that the Restuarant is not interested in customer service or satisfaction, let alone the quality of their food and poor service. I am plant based/vegan and visited this restaurant for the first time with friends. It is already hard for me to eat out with my dietary preference and coming here had me skeptical of being able to have anything outside of a class of water. Our server Kay was extremely nice and helpful and made me feel comfortable about the items available to me. She suggested the avocado toast (because I LOVE avocado) and the veggie hashbrowns (because you can NEVER go wrong with potatoes) I had some special requests with the meal that no butter was placed in the toast and no mushrooms with the veggies and she went out of her way to make it happen for me. The meal was served just as requested and on time. Kay was a very lovely and bubbly person. It was very easy to talk to her and have fun and feel like I was around a best friend or family member!!!! This place has giant portions! Be prepared to wait if you go on the weekend. Service is pretty good still and good comes out quickly. The Shasta omelet was really good, maybe 3 eggs? I'm aware that it is not always easy to find foods I can eat at restaurants but most of the time they can accommodate me. After waiting 35 minutes for a table we are seated and I ask the server if they can scramble the eggs in olive oil or any oil other than butter because that has milk. I was told they could not accommodate me so I was given a fruit bowl. Little did I know this fruit bowl would consist of three grapes and four slices of strawberries and the major was the honey dew melon. I was very disappointed that I was treated as an inconvenience and that they should really name their fruit bowl as melon bowl. All I wanted was to enjoy a meal with my family after church and I would have much rather watched them eat than have been treated the way I was. I do not recommend this place because the manager and server were not accommodating and they treat you as just another table to flip rather than customers there to eat. read more

Don't order from here on Grubhub or any delivery service app. I waited over an hour just for them to cancel the order. They had five delivery drivers pull up to get my order without ever just telling them or Grubhub that they weren't going to fulfill the order. It's extremely inconsiderate of all of the delivery drivers time, they already have to drive around wasting their gas to pick up food. Decided to try this place out on a whim and not disappointed in the adventure. Let me tell you this places brand of black bear is EVERYWHERE! From the decor, furniture, partitions and artwork as well as their little shopping corner that sold black bear stuffies and whatnot. You would not forget the name of this restaurant let me tell you. Anyhoo I was seated pretty quickly, waitress came on over and took my drink order. I perused the online menu (because I was a dolt and didn't open the gazette to see that the menu was inside) and chose the Bear's choice and got scrambled eggs, ham and sweet cream pancakes. Took about 13 minutes to get it out to me, which being that it was a bit busy during the time I went was understandable, and I dug right in. Now I'm not gonna sugar coat this... Those pancakes were probably the best pancakes I've ever had in my life! I didn't even need the syrup because those things were sweet all on their own! Finished my meal, got my ticket, paid up front. This place is my new favorite breakfast/brunch place! My first time here and service was great! Like any place worth eating, there was a 30-45 min wait (I was there on a Saturday around 11:30am). That didn't seem to matter once food was delivered! Such great proportions. The only thing the food was lacking was some seasoning. The hash browns and steak were a little bland but I fixed that with some salt. Overall a great experience! I think they have done a phenomenal job branding!
