The table across from us, that got sat 10 minutes after we did, got their drinks and food less than 5 minutes after they sat. The coffee was extremely burnt and not edible. There was so much food in the window and nobody was helping get the food out to the tables. Nobody came to check on us for refills. The avocado toast had no seasoning to it. There was not really a variety of fruit for the fruit bowl. Overall, would not really recommend this place. read more

First of all we had excellent service! While this place is a chain they claim to make pretty much everything (if not all) from scratch. We came for brunch and shared chicken fried chicken (not steak) meal. It came with 2 biscuits and hash browns. We did have to ask for extra gravy though. It was really good and more than plenty for two. We did leave a little room for dessert and had the lava cake which was pretty decent. I wanted to try the bread pudding, which I guess is a house fav? I really enjoy coming here when I am in town. The food is so good here that I drive 35 minutes to eat breakfast. The sweet cream pancakes are a must as are the cinnamon roll French toast! The almond bearclaw we ordered for the table was pretty good, also reheated well. I had the bears choice and the pancakes were a little thick for my liking. They are very full and fluffy. We came in at about 7:30 on a Thursday night. We stood there while a worker checked out 3-4 customers. We assumed he was also the one seating guests so we patiently waited. After about 8-10 minutes with still no acknowledgment and the customers paying their bills were gone the young man looked up from the register saw us and then looked back down at the register and kept doing something. It included soup (tomato bisque was very yummy) or salad (fresh & tasty), cornbread, dessert, & drink. portions! On Thanksgiving they had a choice of turkey, ham, or prime rib dinners. We had prime rib (tender & melted in my mouth) and turkey with the works (stuffing, green beans, mashed potatoes & gravy) cranberry sauce with the turkey dinner - it was all amazing. First time visit today. We got there and they had a sign on the door saying to "Be patient we are rebuilding our team". Had to wait a few minutes they got us seated and were quick and friendly. The breading on the cfs was super salty and the biscuit was very dry and hard. The potatoes were nothing special. Everyone else thought their dish was mediocre. I ordered pick up from here and it was pretty easy. I wasn't to impressed with the desserts though. We ordered a little bit of everything. Chocolate cake, bread pudding and two different cobblers. They have all the desserts just in a glass refrigerated case which was odd. I've never seen that before except at Village in where they keep their pies. Well we warmed the bread pudding up cause it was just weird eating a cold slice of pudding. And it was actually pretty good. But the cobblers were not cobblers at all. They were pie filling with a criss cross crust on top. Nothing else. No bottom crust and definitely not cobbler crumble topping. I wasn't a fan at all. The chocolate cake was good. We only ordered desserts cause we had already ate dinner and were in the mood for dessert. They were very friendly and had everything ready to go when I got there. I started coming to this diner at the end of covid and no restaurant has compared since. I downloaded yelp just to add this review. I have never had a diner make me feel as at home. My favorite meal is biscuits and gravy and I never thought I would find this meal as good as my mama makes it. Biscuits taste like they're homemade and have never touched a freezer. The steak tasted like steak ums. The au jus tasted like it came out of a box. Both were SO heavily salted. It came with fries. The fries were undercooked, but freshly so. They tasted like there was no salt. My wife got the eggs Benedict. The eggs were overcooked and the hollandaise was broken. They came with diced potatoes. She said they tasted like they were cooked with onions and peppers but no other seasoning. Here's my biggest two gripes. One, why am I getting a literal serving platter with two eggs Benedict and the rest of it covered in potatoes? Seriously, the portion of potatoes was HUGE. My plate had the same issue with the fries. Our group had the roasted turkey dinner, chicken avocado club, and the turkey club. I liked the fact that the food was well packaged and nothing was crushed or leaking. Overall, the food was very good and the sweet potato fries were excellent. The portion sizes were fairly large as well so you could even save it for another meal if you wanted to. She seems to do a little bit of everything, and if I were her boss, I would give her a very big raise. I would do everything I could to keep her on staff. All of the waitresses are excellent. Tried breakfast today in Olathe, KS. Food was fine except the undercooked bacon (think fruit rollup). The server embarrassingly brought it back to us although it looked like a pieces of cow dung that baked all day in the hot Mojave desert. We all laughed. This place is amazing! The food was the bomb.com. The steak was cooked just right at medium. The potatoes had pretty decent flavor but some parts were just a tad over cooked yet still hard. The waffle was super good, light, and fluffy. I samples the bear claw French toast and wow, that was sooo good. It resembled a flaky cinnamon roll. There were three different types of salsa that I tried on my steak. My favorite was the original pepper sauce, it has a nice kick to it and it gave the steak an added flavor but not overpowering the steak. There was a chipotle salsa which was okay but too smoky for me. Then there was a habanero salsa which was okay as well but something about the flavor put it in second place in comparison to the Original Pepper Sauce. The service was great as well. We were seated right away, our waiter was on top of us, and food came out promptly. Even though the menu is a tad overwhelming with everything scrunched on three pages (mind you there are quite a bit of options), they were cute in design. If our experience at this one is any indicator of the franchise, how the heck is this place a franchise???! My friends and I stopped there last night around 6:30 on our way back home from a KC trip. Our server was nice and doing her best but it was clear she was swamped and the only person doing things so she was getting overwhelmed. We all got simple breakfast items but it took a good half hour to come out, meanwhile I watched food pile up in the window. Again, our server, I wish I remembered her name, seemed to be the only one walking food but there were other servers on staff. I watched several people walk by food in the window without walking it. The food was bland. Just really boring and blah. It didn't settle well and my husband has an upset stomach this morning. Makes sense as he went to the bathroom and saw someone pee, not wash their hands, and then return to the kitchen. The only reason my husband didn't tell the manger is because the guy came back out and clocked out so he probably didn't cook anymore, but do you really want to take the chance that he's doing that when cooking? Especially if they don't take pride in their cooking, I doubt they care enough for basic hygiene. There are dozens of different diners both themed and not themed big business and small business, people that will actually try, why go to this place? There is nothing special or remarkable about it whatsoever. I do not understand how this has so many locations.
