    blondie
    Cindy L.

I occasionally come here for lunch but this particular day I was craving something sweet. I got an aloha smoothie the other day but didn't take a picture so I wanted to note that because it was absolutely fire. This day, I got chocolate cake and a chocolate chip blondie. Now the chocolate cake had a deep rich flavor but the cake itself was a bit dry. I think it's from sitting in the case all day chilled. I do love when chocolate cakes have chocolate chips on the outside like that, I find that the semi-sweetness can cut the overly sweet frosting. The blondie was sooooo good. Is it just me or do blondies have an almost peanut buttery taste to them? I am not a huge fan of peanut butter which is why I stay away from them mostly but the texture of this blondie was perfect and I loved that it looked just like a thick chocolate chip cookie cake slice. I just love biting in and getting mouthfuls of little chocolate chip explosions. Worth the peanut buttery taste that's in there.

Cute little café off of Main Street ice if you're hanging out in the little town or on your way towards the water. Definitely offers a good variety of sandwiches and fries and chips. Cute little lunch spot. Coffee is not so bad.

My friend and I came here on a Sunday after a short hike. Super cute and cozy inside, and it was pretty packed but we managed to find seats. The goat cheese salad was fresh and light, and the balsamic vinaigrette was perfectly sweet. My friend loved the breakfast burrito. We also got hot apple cider, which was nice and tart. Definitely recommend!

Sweetest cafe in Irvington, New York. Clean space, service is smooth and quick, food is fresh, and they have an array of pastry options. We tried the honey turkey sandwich, tiramisu, and cappuccino- everything was just right and the portions perfect. You'll feel at home inside; ideal for breakfast, brunch or for study. Side note that it is Albanian owned and operated, so we already knew it would be good. Can't wait to be back!

They're also committed to cutting out the middleman, such as a store, market, or distributor. Located in the heart of Tarrytown on Main Street, we decided to meet up for brunch at Sweet Grass Grill. The reservation was easily made via Yelp. Al fresco seating filled the sidewalks in front of the dog-friendly eatery, and the open door allows chitchat to move freely in and out, creating a lively yet comfortable vibe. Upon entering as first-timers, the wooden bar commands attention, where my partner, his family, and I were greeted by the staff. The bar top is made from a slab of wood salvaged from a single fallen oak tree on the Rockefeller Preserve. We got a cozy table at the front window inside a bright, airy interior with earthy accent colors. Their menu features rustic New American cuisine with many vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options that change with the seasons. We decided on the Veggie Buffalo "Wings" with a side of fries, the Grass-Fed Cheeseburger, the Mushroom "Cheesesteak," and Maine Mussels. Complimentary vegan banana bread started our meal. Every dish at our table was cooked to perfection, beautifully presented and full of flavor. Reasonable price, and the service was attentive, warm, genuinely welcoming, and patient. Our server was Terence. Voted Best of Westchester, it was a wonderful experience, and we can't wait for a repeat performance.

My husband went with the à la carte French toast accompanied with a fresh berry compote and homemade whip cream. The bread was a house-made challah bread . He said it was the best he's French toast he's ever had. Served with real maple syrup, which made it even better. The Bloody Marys were fantastic--perfectly spicy, with a noticeable kick of horseradish. The Bellini was just as delicious, and the coffee was served hot and full of flavor. I opted for the prix fixe menu . It was difficult to choose as there were many options to choose from. I decided on the mushroom risotto as a first course which was outstanding--perfectly creamy risotto topped either mushrooms and a delicate touch of annato oil that brought everything together beautifully. For my main course again, many options that I could've went with, but decided on the eggs Benedict with pork belly, and it was absolutely delicious. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the hollandaise sauce was rich and flavorful. The country, potatoes, sautéed with onions and red peppers, were so tasty, and the side salad with dressing was light and refreshing. I also loved that there were several protein options you could've chose from to go on top of the English muffin beneath the poached eggs. We were too full to enjoy dessert there, but we took it home--an apple cheesecake dress with caramel sauce, and that same homemade whipped cream . Since we were taking it home, we forgo'd the vanilla ice cream which also came with this dessert . The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive--water glasses were refilled without asking, and plates were cleared promptly. The space also features a beautiful large bar and an outdoor patio, which I can't wait to come back and enjoy. Lots of parking in the surrounding and immediate areas and free on Sundays.

Sure, ok, it is a nice looking space, but that is where it ends for me. I have been at least 5 times and while none were memorable this last one was really awful. As someone who likes to eat there is nothing worse than ordering something for a special treat that ends up being "not worth it." I ordered the soup and sandwich off the lunch menu - truffle grilled cheese, how could you wrong? What I expected - a decadent, buttery, melty sandwich. What I got- two heels of bread dry as a desert with a thick hunk of cheese that was not even fully melted throughout. The soup was not terrible in comparison but needed salt. Holiday lunches have dragged on and on with slow service. I would never go spend my own money here.

My favorite cocktail is still the port Old Fashioned... possibly because I won't try others. Wines are good here too. The hamachi, tuna and gnudi appetizers were outstanding. So flavorful, fresh, balanced. All three were different and simply so good. At the table this evening, we tried short rib, steaks, Brussels sprouts, beet salad, lentil pea soup and my favorite, the Berkshire pork chop. There is a lot of parking available which was great. Upon arriving I noticed right away the outdoor seating was in full swing and I loved how close to the water it was but we opted for indoor seating this time around. I will say we had looked at previous reviews beforehand and had made our choices but, upon checking the menu, it had changed so that was a let down. For appetizers we started with the edamame, ricotta crostini and the soup of the day which was chickpea and escarole. It was a bit strange seeing edamame on their menu but it was deliciously seasoned with the furikake and garlic oil. The ricotta crostini was lackluster. I was expecting a bit of sweetness from the grapes but they just seemed watery once you bit into them. The soup was also just ok a bit under-seasoned. For our entrees we got the chicken Milanese, fried chicken Cesar sandwich, the gnocchi pasta with a side of meatballs and the turkey c.b.a. The chicken Milanese had a wonder salad atop the chicken with all the fixings and the feta cheese added for a nice creamy salty bite. The fried chicken Cesar sandwich was just that. A fried chicken cutlet and Cesar salad stuffed into a brioche bun served with thin cut fries. Can never go wrong with a Cesar salad. The pasta was definitely the star of this meal. The soft pillows of the gnocchi pasta paired with the robust tomato sauce was delicious and with the added meatballs added for a hearty meal. The Turkey C.B.A was such a let down. It literally looked like those sandwiches that come in plastic but just plated. For such a nice restaurant that dish definitely gotta go. For dessert we got the Key Lime Pie and the Profiteroles without chocolate. (There was an allergy at the table). The key lime was perfectly tart and the graham crust gave this nutty goodness that was just delicious. The profiteroles were also so yummy with the crunchy puff pastry, creamy ice cream and then the cherries and candied almonds made for a perfect dessert. While I can appreciate a restaurant changing up their menu often, there are some dishes that should stay put!
