Great service. Tasty food. We order a mushroom and spinach omelette with Swiss cheese and French toast with fresh strawberries and side of beacon. Will go back when in the areas

Waldorf salad with raspberry vinaigrette ($16) - generous blue cheese!

J Cafe has a lot to offer. I've gotten a hearty Waldorf salad, but I'm usually here for coffee and pastries. I like the coffee selection, though I think I need always to ask for two shots to really help give me the jolt I need. The space is eclectic; I'm seeing new decor each time I'm here. The staff manage to keep the space very clean. Lots of food options, including some snacks to go. There is also a fridge with some beverages. Outdoor seating is available in the warmer months.

I love this place so much. It is a cozy little cazy that is welcoming and a perfect place to do work. I love this place so much. It is a cozy little cazy that is welcoming and a perfect place to do work. The food is great. The first time I've been here I had a steak salad that was captivating. The steak was tender and flavorful. The most recent time I got breakfast which consisted of french toast sticks and sausage. The french toast sticks were coated in oats which provides an astounding level of crunch. They weren't sweet but the syrup makes up for that. It was a maple syrup which has just the right amount of sweetness. The sauage was good but you only get one. I wish it was two. They have free wifi that is SECURED which I prefer. The service is lovely. They chit chat with you making you feel seen and appreciated. I highly recommend this place.

Stopped by this cozy cafe to grab a bite to eat after my morning workout, and I did not regret it. The restaurant was quaint and cozy, and even though I got a little busy at never felt packed. The food was delicious and I was able to customize my order to my liking. I was able to get some work done using their free Wi-Fi while I ate my breakfast, which was the plan all along. My one complaint is however, they charged for each substitution .

One of our fav cafés in the neighborhood relaxing vibe, friendly staff, excellent drinks, good food, comfortable seating. Pastries are just okay (minus one star for that), but freshly made savory items are awesome. We enjoyed brunch last time here, and this time, the grilled cheese at the next table smells really good.

The service and food, on the other hand, were quite a mixed bag. We ordered a margherita pizza, pancake tacos, steak and eggs, and French toast with a side of sausage--the pizza, at least, was good. However, the "French toast" was more like an anemic panini press trying to pass as French toast. The steak and eggs comprised of a fairly well-cooked (that is, it was the right temperature) yet underseasoned steak of a relatively dubious cut, underseasoned home fries, and eggs done wrong (sunny side instead of over easy). The lattermost was the start of the problem, as I was willing to give it a shot, but found the texture off-putting. In light of this, I brought the problem to our server Adalia, who brought it to her manager Elvia. Thankfully I had someone else with me to tell me what happened: Elvia came over without addressing me on their error, silently took a look at my plate and instructed Adalia to have the kitchen put the eggs back on the fire. She takes my plate to extract the eggs, and brings them back (unsurprisingly) completely overdone, first in Elvia's hands, then in Adalia's for her to serve; we send for a refire, and they come back correct 7 minutes or so after I've already finished eating. Considering the hassle it took to get them, I couldn't trust it enough to eat, leading them to waste as well. After all was said and done, the GM Amer comes over to see how things were, and was thankfully helpful and understanding of our situation. Here's the rub: I was initially willing to overlook the steak, the home fries, and even the eggs if the error was properly ameliorated. Adalia and Amer both did very well, and I'm grateful for them for that; Elvia, on the other hand, managed to break the chain of competent customer service by directing the server to handle the problem in a way that was set up for failure (if you mess up an egg, it's an immediate refire because of how the egg cooks in the first place -- Amer also arrested to that policy) all without addressing us and taking accountability, due to negligence or whatever else. Not only that, but when sending the incorrect eggs over the second time, she couldn't even bring it to us herself--it would have been easy, seeing as she was the one that originally had them--and left Adalia and her tip to potentially take the fire if the patrons happen to be angry. Mistakes are fine--everyone makes them--but I'd describe this as cowardly more than anything else, and I take issue with that in particular from a leadership standpoint. While Amer graciously extended an invitation for a better experience next time, I can't say I'll be taking him up on the offer when their service and food are this misaligned; unfortunately, a disappointment overall.

Our server asked how "done" we wanted our burger and salmon ("medium") but when the salmon arrived it was very rare. This has happened before here -- it took a long time for my properly cooked fish to arrive, and everyone else at our table had finished their meals. Fortunately, that didn't happen tonight, and my properly cooked fish arrived fairly fast. When a restaurant knows how to execute a fine dining experience, the guest is able to enjoy their time and their company. When it doesn't (when the staff looks and acts scared, doesn't bring water when it is requested, doesn't pay proper attention to its guests, doesn't bring properly cooked food...), the experience is tense and unenjoyable. That unfortunately was the case for us tonight. Also, the music played used to be so much more enjoyable. Lately it sounds gyrating and annoying.
