I was visiting my elderly parents in Henderson Nevada, and they took myself and my daughter, to this delightful restaurant, on Sunday evening February, 25th, 2024, at about 5pm. It is a restaurant that they enjoy and frequent. Upon walking in, I found the ambience very nice, soothing, and even romantic. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. We sat indoors and to the right, at a large corner booth. The service was prompt and friendly. My questions about the food were thoroughly answered. My daughter tasted her cocktail and it was strong and tasty. Not watered down at all. Everyone loved their food! The recurring comment was that the food was seasoned and not bland! I had angel hair pasta with Alfredo sauce. It had a piece of seared seasoned salmon on top. I also ordered a generous side of spinach which was also nicely seasoned! My only improvement would be for the waiters to slow down just a tad, in order to fully listen to what their customer is saying, instead of turning and walking away before they are completely done speaking. OK, i have to say this is one THE best hidden gems in the Eastern corridor of Henderson!! I would consider this establishment as a home-cooking, quaint restaurant with excellent bar service and gaming!! Great craft beer and domestics offered among quality liquor and wines selections with stellar service to match!! After being seated by the GM, Jairo gave us great service for our Happy Hour selections that were exquisitely prepared and presented. The chicken wings, Philly cheesesteak flatbread and cheeseburger were definite highlights enjoyed on recommendation!! Cilantro lime and spicy Asian sauces should be bottled and sold!! 5 for flavor, service, value and ambiance including non-smoking(rare commodity in LV).. We decided to try this place as we found it recommended on Yelp and a FB group. We were immediately greeted, seated, and served water. It took our server about 10 minutes before they initially checked in with us to get our drink order, by that time we already knew what we wanted and placed our entire order. The food was great and have no complaints there and will definitely go back for that. However, if we were rating the speed and attentiveness of the server we would not be going back. The server never once checked on us. We had finished our food and it took about 15 minutes after for the server to notice the busser had cleared our table. The server brought the check, my card was already on the table and instead he dropped the check and walked off. It took him another 10 minutes to come back and an additional 5 minutes to run it. I went on 4/23 for my wife's' birthday breakfast. i had the hamburger, woke up very early to make sure the day was good, so lunch time for me. It tasted great. The service was also excellent as always. She came around a number of times, but not too much. She was a kind person that I feel cared. The only item that bothers me is that if is too dark. We are 56, but have to use phone flashlights to read the menu. Other than that, it was great. read more

Sit your self anywhere! Our waitress was very attentive. I ordered the omelet with Avocado and mushrooms. So I was eating it, I realized there wasn't any Avocado's in it, and instead sausage and mushroom. Thank goodness I'm not a vegan, but I don't like sausage. I let her know about it. Like it really wasn't a big deal. She asked if she could just give me a side of Avocado, I said yes, that's cool, I picked all the sausage out. The breakfast is just basic! Nothing exciting about it at all. They took $5.00 off of our bill, which was very nice of them. I've been to this restaurant 3 times and I can say they are consistent. The food is good, nothing fancy but good. It's pretty dark inside but I've seen a lot of places like that in Henderson. When you walk in there is a bar in front and to the right you have the dining room. My brother things they have the best burgers in town. The jury is still out for me though. I'll keep going back. Made resos a couple days prior, no prob. Got our time we requested on a busy Friday prime rib night. Walked in and the place was packed early Friday evening. Waited a couple of minutes before someone tended to us. Took us to a middle table and right away did not like the location. Felt like a showcase sitting in the middle table surrounded by booth seaters all looking at us. I walked to the front and asked for a booth instead but they were booked for booths for a couple of hours. I saw they had an outside patio area and asked to be sat there and they said it was booked as well. Walking all sad back to the table, the server followed me and said there is seating available outside. Excited to see the other options, we were walked out there immediately. The weather was perf and they had different outdoor seatings all around. Way better ambience than where we would have sat. Knights game was about to start and there was a TV outside. So we picked the high booth table where we had a great view. Ordered the key lime martini and house cab. Both were great. Cab was smooth and went great with the meat. Our server and busser were especially great. Props to Stephanie for knowing how to give great customer service. Would definitely want to request her to be our server again. All the reviews about the service being on point was right! My hot sauce came right away when requested. Usually I have to order that 3 times before I can get it. Water refills and dishes cleared by the busser was right on time. Only hiccup in the night was when the wrong prime rib was sent out. I didn't know any better because I haven't had prime rib in a long time. Ate about a third of it when Stephanie noticed it didn't look like how it should have since I asked for my prime rib to be seared on the cut sides and well done without being burnt, no additional salt added. She offered to correct it right away and I said no, it's okay. I did mention to her that it was served warm, not hot for being seared. The Au Jus was lukewarm also. It was way chewy and hard to swallow. She insisted to take it away and see what they can do. I said, okay fine. She came back saying it didn't look right because it was the wrong steak and brought out my perfectly seared prime rib. I'm glad she convinced me to reconsider the steak. Although, I would have kept the original to box home since I didn't touch the sides and didn't want them to just throw it away, wasting food. I could have cooked it more at home myself. 5/5 - My Key Lime-Tini was the best I've had, even better than the many key lime martinis I've tried in Key West, FL. Well... The 1st one was the best, frothy top tasted like meringue but the 2nd one wasn't so and had ice crystals instead (Dave must have made it ). 4/5 - Chicken Wings with half cilantro lime and half spicy asian sauce. Cooked crispy and not dried out. Finally a place that knows how to cook chicken wings right! The sauces were okay. Both with a bit sweet. Spicy asian wasn't spicy and cilantro lime wasn't limey. It tasted better when I squeezed real lime juice on it. 4.5/5 - BBQ Ribs were tender and fall off the bone. Sauce was nice and BBQ-y. Only critique was that it was warm and not served hot. 5/5 - Onion Rings were crispy, all the way to the last cold bite after we let it sit out for a while. 3/5 - The Original Prime Rib (not what I ordered). Little brown on the top and rare looking on the inside. Sides were boring and could not sub out for the other sides that sounded more appetizing. Came to the table warm and not hot. 5/5 - My SEARED Prime Rib was the star of the show. Cooked well done, not burnt. It had a nice crust around, not salty at all and cooked perfectly. It was tender and easy to swallow! Best steak I've had in a long time! Great date night with my love. We shall be back again to try the watermelon ahi salad, charcuterie board, and angry shrimp! Good neighborhood gem we had no idea about. We were skeptical about trying a 3.5 star joint but sometimes they're like a flip of a coin and glad we took the chance. Bartenders love their regulars and vice versa. As a new customer, you'll get average to below average service at the bar Good liquor selection but parsimonious pours on two of my three visits so far. On one occasion, rocks bourbon pour couldn't have been more than 1 Oz. Bar is neither friendly nor unfriendly. All customers are buried in the gaming and never look up except to exchange pleasantries w the bartenders, but only if they're regulars. I've ordered the Angel Hair pasta twice and both times it has been overcooked and mushy. Beer selection is solid and it's served cold Cleanliness a B- overall. Bathroom is ok. In summary, if you're a short drive away and want to play electronic games at the bar, drink a cold beer, eat an app, avoid social interaction, evolve into a regular without succumbing to a loud, smoky dive w microwaved starters, and you're not into music, this is your place. We decided to give it a try as it wasn't far from their house in Southern Highlands and were sick of going to the same three places my parents always go. The menu has something for everyone, including my vegan brother and his wife who did not make it. My dad and I had the French onion soup with a salad. The soup was very good and so was their house salad. My mom was hesitant to try the ribs because she says they are usually from the day before and not very good. She decided to give them a try anyways and they were fall off the bone tender and she really enjoyed them. My husband had a pizza which he also enjoyed. We having been coming to Black Mountain for almost 4 years. During the pandemic we came almost weekly. We like the atmosphere and the food. HOWEVER, today is our last day and straw. This last few visits has been unpleasant. Service is a hit or miss. It seems like you are assigned 1 waiter and 1 waiter only. Our water glasses were either low or empty and no one came by to refill. We were even sitting there staring out trying to get someone's attention. Only to have another waitress look at us and server her tables. Walk past us with not a single look or word and sit down at an open table. I had the glorious opportunity to go searching for our waiter for our bill. This has happened more than once. Went for a Christmas party. Was awful, I'll never go back. Tiny female waitress cared nothing about the serivce we were receiving because she knew they would add mandatory 20% for her tip. Manager in plaid shirt knew we were getting bad service and did not care. Waited over an hour for a bowl of pasta .. which the manager dropped on the table with no apology or anything. I'm sad to write this review. This is our go to weekly restaurant. We came in for Mother's Day and the hostess Savana was probably one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. We were hoping to get seated since we are regulars but they said no walk ins or even take out. If I were the manager, I wouldn't want a hostess dismissing my customers and making rude remarks (especially those who supported their business during COVID). The manager was not in but i would strongly recommended reviewing customer service with your hostess. My wife and I went her on Saturday 9/30/23 around 11pm after being at friends fun birthday party, I've never walked into a more depressing environment in my life. We wanted to sit at the bar and every available space had a placard in front say reserved for "Players Only". The only available spot with two places available had another customer with his glasses and a newspaper covering the seat. He was annoyed when we politely asked him if we could sit ther and proceeded to move which is fine. The real issue started when the bartender/waitress acted annoyed that this customer had to move so he could spread his personal items everywhere. My wife then asked the annoyed bartender for a drink recommendation that had Gin in it. The bartender turned her back and started walking away essentially saying "I have no idea what to tell you". Well we managed on our own to order a drink and We ordered food, but we felt as if we were putting the bartender out and making her go her way to do her job. Never encountered a more grumpy and unfriendly server ever, anywhere. The bartender needs to get a new job because its apparent she doesnt like this job. She is not entitled to a tip just because we sat down, Ive had better service at McDonalds and havent been to a McDonalds in 20 years. Minimal service, no ambiance, if your not playing poker not even bother going in you are not worthy of their attention. The website listed Donna Rocker as the Proprietor, well Donna should be completely embarressed of the product and service she is putting out. The place sucks and not that it matters to Donna, we wont be gong back EVER and we live about 1.5 miles away. Sad Sad Sad. This is a gem! We've been in Henderson for two years and this one escaped us and it's (in my opinion) one of the best restaurants in our area. We live about as SE in Anthem Highlands as you can get:) We met two other couples who had not been there and I apologize I did not get a picture of everyones meal. Two of our friends chose the bone in ribeye. I'll not put down another restaurant in our town, yet they said, "this ribeye is as good or better than one you'll get at X restaurant - and you'll pay twice the money". The other couple chose the prime rib and fish and sticks - they shared them and raved about both. My wife had the Monterey Chicken Sandwich and loved how moist and tasty it was. I enjoyed the blue cheese salad (outstanding blue cheese) and a Black Mountain burger with sautéed mushrooms and onions. It was a perfect medium rare and veggies were perfect. Above all our server (Brittney) was absolutely fantastic. The restaurant was full, she was busy, yet she was the perfect amount of friendly, efficient, professional and happy to serve. We like the rustic/classy environment - but we all agreed that between the great food and Brittneys outstanding service it made for a fantastic evening. We will be back with more friends! read more

The service was top-notch, we came during a rather slow point of Lunch and were constantly checked on and taken care of. I have nothing but praises for Sandra and the team for their care and swift service. The ambiance was fancier than I had expected and was pleasantly surprised. This would be a humbly intimate spot for a dinner reservation. The charcuterie appetizer was also a fine surprise before the main courses, which were not overly portioned or heavy on our stomachs. Overall a very cute dining experience. What happened? This gem of Seven Hills seems inexplicably to have tarnished. The shrimp-studded halibut was once an indulgent feast of huge blackened prawns whose firm, juicy texture perfectly complemented the yielding flakes glistening white fish - the juices of this pairing ran over a bed of delicately seasoned rice. The overall dish was delightful, varied, enticing, soulful, and fun. Today, $38 at Black Mountain will buy you a couple of ounces of the lowest-grade defrosted shrimp, pink and unloved, mashed into unevenly sized chunks and haphazardly drizzled over a tasteless overcooked rubbery fillet, flanked by a miserable scoop of mushy and overcooked plain white rice. Something unfortunate has happened in BMG's kitchen. Our love of the restaurant led us to write it off initially as a fluke, but we've run through every one of our favorite items and seen each of them ruined in the same way - with careless unskilled lazy cooking more typical of a middle school cafeteria. The cocktails remain great and the waitstaff is still just as skilled and courteous. Go for a quick drink and possibly the Bavarian pretzel, but if you want a sound meal, save your money and head to the Applebees down the street. read more

I am one for giving second chances. Mostly every time I order a burger, the burger comes out over cooked. Tonight I ordered a burger with a glass of red wine thinking I would get a perfect burger. We waited and waited, the ticket time was over 45 minutes after we were done eating our salad. At the time of our order, there was only 5 people in the patio, people in the dining area and 9 people around the bar. We were the only table with a food order. Not sure why it took so long. Typically, in a dining setting the main course is fired as we are close to finishing our salads. When we received our food, my burger was burnt and over cooked. I wanted to enjoy my red wine with my burger, but instead I ate half of my girlfriends dinner. My red wine wasn't the perfect pairing for my girlfriends dinner, so I didn't enjoy my red wine either. In fact, the server should have comped my wine and burger. I wasn't happy with my experience tonight and should have went with my gut instinct to eat at Osaka across the street. I will never make that mistake again and I hope you don't. This is definitely the last time I will eat here.
