The staff today need to be re-trained in customer service. I placed a mobile order which should have been done in 5 min. Hubby goes to pick up the order and they can't find it. (Despite using the mobile app that has my name and mobile number order). They were dismissive. We decide to hop in the drive thru line. It will give the staff more time to catch up and we won't be in the cold. Drive thru staff member was also dismissive. She just takes our name and is like Hope they got their order. So at this point 2 staff members brushed us off. At the window, the staff member says hi then goes about making drinks. A couple of minutes later, the member was asking if the two coffee drinks she had was ours. My hubby said no, we have a mobile order. And lo and behold it's there. Receipt said it was done 5 minutes after I ordered. When my hubby asked what happened, the staff who handed our drinks said she didn't know. So a whole 30 minutes to get our drinks. What was the point of the mobile app? Another staff member took my hubby's number and said she would give to their manager. The whole time they have been dismissive. So now waiting for a call from Lexi the manager. Not really holding my breath for that. read more

Black Rock! Maybe I'm weird, but I walked here to get a *hot* vanilla latte. The menu is basically all iced and blended, with a lil note at the top that indicates they can make the drinks hot lol. So fear not traditional coffee lovers - they CAN do that too haha. My only note, my hot latte was more luke warm. But next time I'll order extra hot! But the staff was great. read more

I'm not sure how I hadn't tried Black Rock until 6 1/2 years of life in Oregon, but oh well. I know it now. Unfortunately there isn't one near me, (PS come to SW Beaverton/Murray Hill area!!) But I know where to get it :) I LOVE how Black Rock has your order taken right as you pull in, it really seems to increase efficiency. I've NEVER has a negative service experience or a bad or wrong drink at this location. Always HAPPY and upbeat staff. People who seem happy even though they're working. And I appreciate that!! I've never had any of their food but my kids tried a vegan/GF cookie that neither of them liked. Lol. Whatever. Can't win them all!!! I love the vibe of laid back and fun at Black Rock. Horrible customer service. Went to the walk up window and gave the name on the order. They said there is no order under that name. I showed the app receipt with the name location, order, order number etc. They just brushed me off, said there is no order, and they proceeded to help other customers. I got into my car and got into their drive thru line. They had a girl taking orders outside. I told her I had the online order and gave the name. She recognized me, confirmed the name on the order, then left. No apologies for not finding it earlier. Nothing. Got to the drive thru counter. Girl said hi, didn't ask for my name, and then left for 5 minutes. She tried to hand me someone else's order. I refused it and said mine was an online order. She finally handed my order which was sitting outside on her countertop. I asked her what happened and why. She just gave me a shrug. No apology for the lost order or extra wait time. read more

When visiting Arizona, there was a Black Rock & I enjoyed the flavors & the vibes. Came to visit Portland for work & happen to notice Black Rock again! I tried their IV iced which was Irish coffee & vanilla bean is what caught my eye. When I tell you this is a punch in the throat but wakes you right up, I loved it haha it's a good kicker that will def start your day off right! I would recommend the IV if you're more of a bold/strong coffee and a balanced of sweet. This drink is all you. It was with trepidation that I drove here to get an iced mocha. I have had two not great Black Rock experiences at other outposts recently and I was saddened. Today's experience was perfect. Line moved fast. Person was friendly. Iced mochas were perfect. Was charged the right amount. Whew. I guess I am always going to go to this one now. FYI they have all kinds of drinks- tea, frozen things, Red Bull, smoothies. Minimal food ( cookies, muffin tops, or granola bars) is offered. Get a punch card. I usually always come here. I've been coming here for years. Exception to the past month! Anyways I got a matcha and always ask for alternative milk. My matcha was made with regular milk for sure. I went back today @ around 4pm to get it remade and instead of getting what I asked for the lady working started arguing with me as to why she couldn't remake it for me that blackrock apparently fires them on the spot for giving out free drinks. This isn't giving away a free drink I brought it back and wanted it remade. I ended up tossing it! Not the best customer service. read more

Can't say enough about this location or the company. We go there at least 5 times a week. They always know our order (yes we are predicable) however if I want something different they have no problem making it for me even if they already made my drink. For me the Jack Hammer has got to be the best drink around. I am not a fan of coffee drinks where you can not taste coffee. I want to taste coffee and they do it perfect every single time. Conveniently located near Nike campus. Friendly upbeat employees (same as all the BR location) they are fast and efficient. I've never had a bad coffee or bad service here! They have a walk-up window for pedestrians, which is great. It's completely separate from the car drive-thru. It would be nice if the 82nd/Powell location had one. I Rarely stop at this location but the few times lately that I have - it's been much better than the experience I had years ago. There's a walk up window as well and it's across the street from the Nike campus. As usual - give them your phone number or BR rewards card and after 10 drinks, your 11th one will be free and you better go BIG. I've always stuck with the Caramel Blondie Chiller w/o whip cream. Driving through town and saw this on the side of the road, so I had to stop. I got the caramel blondie and the blackout - both so delicious! Caramel blondie is sweeter (kinda like the caramel macchiato from Starbucks); blackout reminds me of liquid Nutella with less chocolate! For those who don't want to wait in the drive thru, you can park in the lot and walk up to a window. For those who regret going through the drive thru, you can exit via the Subway drive thru and park in the lot. :) read more

Being that it was a Sunday I figured no line and it was worth checking out. I'm glad I did!!! Starbucks what?!!! Mind you I drink Starbucks often, but this place has got Starbucks beat! I got the blended blackout, less sweet, and my dog got a treat from the lady at the window he was happy about that!! Overall yum yum!! The drink was blended perfectly, creamy with no ice chunks. This is my favorite Black Rock location and even though I moved I drive a little extra to get it here. Though the people are always rotating they seem friendlier and more outgoing. The coffee here is my favorite for doctored coffee and not overly sweet. I've even bought their beans in the past. They have an insanely incredible granola bar they get from Seattle you can not get anywhere else. It's so good you really need to try it when there next.
