I like that they let me know they'll use all the sugar free options they can for my order. They weren't super busy, but still busy. The barista still took time to take my order and show kindness. I am a fan of the morning crew at BlackRock. The morning crew is friendly, considerate and accommodating. I love the Hibiscus Tea w/ Sugar Free Raspberry and their Chai Tea Latte. Not malty consistent I will say the last several visits, have not been up to usual standards, with either a add on missing, or like in today's class, a drink that was to be made with Breve half and half but appeared to be totally Breve as the entire drink! A staff member working here asked me if she could see something at my apartment. I would not have someone I don't know over to my home, so I told her I would be willing to meet her at an alternate coffee place she mentioned, and she ended up not being interested. A manager later spoke to me in the drive through line to tell me to stop "asking on dates" and that she was worried about me HARASSING staff, I'm not even kidding. There are so many one star reviews of this location mentioning the staff. It's beyond outrageous that I would be accused of something like this for trying to be polite to a staff member who was expressing interest. Businesses like Black Rock are a stain on our community. They are taking advantage of a well-established business model and their ability to keep churning through staff as well as customers without the overall company suffering. Did you know there is a highly-rated, locally-owned coffee place within spitting distance of this Black Rock? It makes you wonder what they are trying to do to our community. Black Rock Coffee is celebrating its 15th anniversary! Pretty cool that the first location I ever visited was in Portland, OR - where they were founded. On August 15 they were offering $2 medium caramel blondie drinks and so I stopped by here. I got my drink blended (chiller) and it was loaded with caramel (see photo). Unfortunately it didn't last long as I spilled it in my car, but what I did drink was delicious! Very sweet as expected but a cool summer treat. The barista was great and this location was easy to enter/exit. They are giving away free drinks if you sign up for their loyalty rewards program. Today was my first time I have been to this location and it will be my last. I really did enjoy my drink, super good. However, the service was not the best. There was only one person working at the time I had gone and the drive thru kept piling up. I was in the outside line for 10 minutes before she finally took my order. Although there appears to be a Black Rock Coffee opening on every corner, the coffee at Black Rock might be the best/strongest in town. The Americano is bold and will definitely put some hair on your chest. This location is drive through only. There are a few tables outdoor, but not very useful on a 100 degree day. In addition, this location deserves to be docked a point as it is adjacent to locally owned and community driven Cultivate coffee. I hope there are room for 2 Sheriffs in town read more

This location really sucks. Takes a long time. Only a drive through location but they don't use the speaker box. You have to pull up to the window to place your order which takes decades it seems. Just went through the drive through and asked for a mango peach passionfruit fuel. The lady on the speaker got it wrong and thought I said strawberry. I noticed when I got my drink it was wrong, so I kindly let them know it was incorrect. The lady who took back my drink had a septum piercing and black hair. Please, please, please, STIR THE DRINKS!!! I must have visited at least 10 times or more, and every single time, without fail, the milk and sugar is not stirred in, and I don't keep spoons / stirrers cups n my car, so......grrrr!!! Very frustrating. Also, the drive-through system does not work. I pull in to the right, the person that's been tail-gating me up 7th Ave pulls in to the left and gets served first. Once is annoying, 3-4 times and I'm boiling. The line-up system just doesn't work because people who take the short line don't give a crap about other people that wait courteously in the other. It's more a statement on the clientele probably, but damn, talk about rude @$$h0|€$. Oh, and getting out is a nightmare too. This is another place where the good quality of the product is ruined by the poor and unprofessional attitudes of some of the staff. In the last 2 weeks, I had one cashier ask me to pay with a card because she got flustered and couldn't figure out what coins to give me for my change...literally couldn't figure out how to make 46 cents out of coins. Also, if you use cash to pay, you have to prompt the cashiers to remind them of your telephone number so you can get credit for your purchases to earn a free drink. They don't ask you for it otherwise. Some cashiers have a great demeanor and positive attitude, and others don't even acknowledge if you say, "Hi, how are you?" or "Thank you" and only say the total of your order to you. Another negative: the cost of my usual daily order has gone up over 10% in the last week. There are other coffee houses in my area that serve the same product and have not raised their costs and have more pleasant, consistent customer services. This location refused to provide a complimentary cup of water. Considering how hot it gets in Arizona, this is a pretty awful policy and what I had thought to be against the law in this state. At $5 a cup of coffee, pretty sure they have the resources to give back to the community in this way but I guess profits above all for them. Very disappointed. Oh well, good thing there is a local coffee shop right next to them that I'd rather support instead. read more

This is by far the best coffee in Phoenix AZ, honestly my go to. I love the customer service here the workers are so welcoming and always nice. Its makes the experience even more pleasing. The drive through line is usually long but moves really fast with the workers going over and beyond to make sure the orders are done promptly and effectively.
