a cup of coffee on a table

Small location, but cool like Cartels others. Cartels coffee is absolutely delicious but damn, 4.75 for a drip with no refills doesn't make it a great location to spend a lot of time to study/work.

I came in the late afternoon to this bakery/coffee house combo, and I was pleasantly surprised with the environment. Lots of natural light and easy-going atmosphere. It was a small shop, but still had good seating. I ordered a prickly pear espresso tonic and got a bag of beans as well. I had a great interaction with the barista and she recommended me some good beans to take home. The tonic itself was very refreshing, and I was happy to have it on one of the hottest days of the year up until then. Lovely vibes and the coffee is great. I think I want to come back to try their other espresso-based stuff to get a good gauge on how a flat white or cortado tastes. I'll definitely want to come back, especially to visit their larger location in Chandler.

I got the lavender thyme matcha which was light on the Matcha flavor, but was very floral and refreshing. My friend got one of the coffees which she also enjoyed. There is plenty of seating inside and outside and it's very bright and a great place to work from!

It's got that white, concrete, and pothos design that reminds me of similar places back home. While deciding what to order, I started chatting with the barista, and she told me that I might like the Granja Paraiso pourover, so I went with that. It was a super nice drink with lots of nuanced stone-fruity notes as well as that grape skin kind of flavor. It was a really nice and sweet (aroma-wise) drink to have. Turns out, they use the xBloom for the most consistency in their pourovers. I don't mind that at all. I think it's the first time I've tried an xBloom, and it was pretty darn good. Not over-extracted, and I'm sure it was meticulously calibrated. Overall, it was a great experience, and I got some beans togo too!

Forgot to take a picture of our drinks but the ceramics, and presentation of everything was very clean and intentional. The Rafah had a delicious light cream top, and a good balance of espresso and hojicha. The ham&cheese crossiant is a must try! The space was huge perfect for studying, catching up with friends. If I'm back in Arizona I would def go here again!

Service= wtf I'm a pour over fan, I go to a different non-chain local neighborhood coffee shop often but they are closed on Mondays so I decided to hit up another local spot. I ordered. It was very loud inside (music) so I went outside -of course it's on 7th street so even louder outside. After being outside about 7-10 minutes I came inside and sat down. I saw a mug of coffee sitting near the counter and inquired if it was my pour over the cashier looked terrified and said mine wasn't done yet. Then a few moments later the gal from the back slammed it down and yelled "POUR OVER THANK YOU VERY MUCH" I prefer to support local but I don't prefer passive aggressive attitudes. A customer is allowed to ask questions it's called communication. My local spot can do five pour over coffees synonymously in four minutes flat at a better price point with no attitude. Maybe it was a tough Monday I get that but come on folks get it together.

I got the iced matcha latte, it was okay. My friend got their CC latte I think. And for someone that doesn't like coconut I could appreciate it was a well made drink. Balance of coffee and flavor. I prob couldn't drink a whole thing to myself because the coconut is noticeable. They had a yummy looking pistachio pop tart but didn't try food The service was okay. The person wasn't warm and came off irritated. Can't imagine how they would be in a morning rush Anywho, not eager to come back but I would get one of their coffees if the opportunity presented itself
