Inconsistent is one word to describe this place. I always get the same thing. I order it extremely large, largest cup you have. Practically no ice, chai tea, with cinnamon & hazelnut sprinkled on top with some whip cream. I'm finally reviewing them now because I don't think I could trust going there again after the review. It could be in a slightly large cup, a very large cup, or a small cup. It will always be filled with ice, who knows exactly what was sprinkled on this morning. It tasted different than the last 4 I've gotten. I order practically no ice because I've drinks hurt my from teeth but I prefer cold drinks so it's a pain when you overload it. I also don't want to pay for a cup of ice. I can make this at home but usually prefer dutch brothers. Now that they've built one a bit closer, I'll drive out of my way and get consistency every time there. They not always get it right but they are always kind. It was our first time at Black Rock. We were wanting coffee after our pedicures and Black Rock was right there. We had never heard of Black Rock so we decided to try it out. We ordered the Mexican mochas iced. They were very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. They forgot to put whipped cream on top of our drinks but happily added it when I mentioned they forgot. My life begins and ends at this Black Rock. My mother, with child, entered to find comfort in the bitter sweet sting of black coffee upon her sharp nostrils. While partaking of the sweet nectar of this otherworldly Rock of Blackness, pain over took her. Flowing in waves, her contractions surged through her body as he muscles tensed from the pain. Though not even a babe yet, I remember the words spoken by one of the baristas. "Like, omg. She is like, for sure in labor." Those words tainted me, I would have become a better man without them. My mother thrashed herself about, losing reason to the pain. In the process she smashed a gentleman's mango smoothie, scattering the contents across the imaculate floor. Little did any of us know, this would soon be my biological father. Falling back, my mother landed tailbone first into the cold hard floor. Hitting just right, and just hard enough, to shoot the baby, me, out onto the smoothie covered floor. Sliding several feet, I came to a stop to smell the fresh crushed Coco beans. My eyes burst with the pain of confusion as the world around me spun. Me, unintentionally, spinning in a sexy pose. That instant I became a sex idol. But I digress. Once the incident had been cleared up, I was taken home to recuperate. Unfortunately, my addiction to the mango smoothie at Black Rock has still not, and probably never will be, deserted. The withdrawal would be so painful, mentally and physically, I would probably rampage upon the human population to calm myself. This addiction has almost cost me my life. Being from OR I love BR coffee. And, this crew is so loud. I know it isn't a library and I'm glad staff enjoys each other's company but my silencing earplugs could not drown out the shouting. Stopped by this coffee shop and we(myself and my significant other) truly enjoyed it! I forgot the exact name of our drink but it had the word "blondie" in the name. Needless to say that we are picky when it comes to coffee because my SO enjoys strong coffee while I enjoy a sweet taste, our drink however was the perfect compromise to both things. Loved the customer service, our barista was quite friendly and helpful in helping us decide our drink. Additionally, the atmosphere and place itself was very calm. It's Dutch Bros but with trendy indoor seating. Which if you are going to ingest your daily intake of sugar and calories in one cup you should probably be sitting down. This isn't coffee, it's sugared caffeine, that may have a subtle hint of coffee if you try to imagine it being there. Their pastries are dry, and shipped from Costco? Walmart? I tried to ask about their beans but the barista was confused so I'd just burn a $5, eat a scoop or two of sugar while standing under a cheesy sign and call it a day. read more

Good coffee, terrible customer service. They can never understand what customers are saying in the drive thru, always have to repeat it at the window. THREE times now, never got told the total! Asked why is that the girl just said "oh didn't know that was a thing" . I'm sorry but how! It should be in the training I know when I work at retail or selling people stuff , telling customers was part of doing it! Last time came in the guy was very nice, friendly and welcoming. Inconsistency with drinks. The staff is super friendly and do a good job of making you feel welcomed. I have been going here since they opened here but my biggest issue is the inconsistency with their coffee drinks. I typically get Iced Caramel Blondie and it always tastes different each time I go. When I first started going it it tasted great and the same each time but as time went on the inconsistency started. I have stopped going as frequently because of this. Sometimes the drinks just isn't good that day and I regret going. I know sometimes they are slammed and things can be missed but when I go in the early morning with nobody in line I still get an inconsistent drink. read more

First time going to Black Rock and I wasn't impressed. The girl at the register wasn't very helpful to customers asking if their order was the one sitting on the counter. She told them she didn't know. They don't label the drinks or food, and the music was blaring so you can't really hear them call out orders. I ordered an Irish coffee and it was mostly half & half and syrup. It also didn't taste sugar free like I had requested but I had no idea if it was made right because again they don't label the drinks. My husband got one of their energy drinks and it was very syrup-heavy, almost to the point of being undrinkable. We also got a breakfast sandwich and it was so-so. This location has amazing staff and great drinks. Every experience I have had has been consistently very pleasant, but my most recent visit inspired me to review. Embarrassingly, both me and my girlfriend forgot our wallets coming from the dentist and decided to stop for a drink. We were not able to pay and offered to return with money and pay but the employee insisted on comping our drinks. We said no but he did anyway. I have been coming to Black Rock Cafe at Crismon for a couple of years now, and I will say it's my favorite coffee shop, and this is by far my favorite location too. The employees are the best, and coffee tastes amazing, after reading through the reviews I can honestly say not once have I experienced any employees being rude here at this location or pretentious. Drove out of our way to find this place because the hours said it was open until 9. Got here at 4:15, lights were on, 3 workers were there and they just looked at me while I tried to open the door that was locked directly under a sign that was lit up and said open. I can't tell you how the coffee is here because I waited in line for thirty five minutes and they closed while I was in line waiting. A car in line ahead of me. No one behind me (except the cones they put behind me while I waited to block off other people from getting in line.) The car ahead of me- after over half an hour- finally gets there order and then it's my turn to pull up. Guess what. They closed. With me in line.
