Heartbreaking Experience from a Place We Loved My husband and I have been loyal customers of this Black Rock location for a long time. The place is nicely decorated and the staffs have always been amazing. It used to be our favorite treat spot in San Tan Valley, and we've never had an issue--until now. We each ordered our usual drinks: one with soy milk, one with almond milk, since we are allergic to dairy. Unfortunately, both drinks were made with whole milk, and it's not just a theory--we've had severe reactions for the past two days, including constant diarrhea and stomach cramping. I noticed the taste was a bit off, but I tried to brush it off, thinking maybe I was just being picky. I wasn't. This experience has left us shaken and honestly scared to order again. Food allergies aren't a trendy preference--they're a health risk. Please, train your staff better on milk alternatives and allergy safety. It may seem like a small mistake, but it has had a huge impact on our health and trust. The strawberry smoothie was tasty. It tasted like a fresh strawberry to me. I liked the strawberry flavor. It is a common flavor option. It was not too sweet and not too tart. The smoothie is a blended ice. Fast and easy service. Quiet inside. I have tried many Black Rock drinks. It's likely that I would get the strawberry smoothie or the green apple smoothie again. I might get the iced matcha with strawberry cold foam again. I would get the pumpkin chai flavor again. I would like to try the pumpkin chai against their basic chai at the same time to compare. I also had their chai with vanilla and lavender cold foam in the past, but having had it not the same day, it's hard to really compare. The Oreo Chiller is a blended mocha with oreos. I couldn't taste the Oreo as the coffee flavor was strong. Good for those who like a strong coffee flavor. read more

I'm so happy I found a place that doesn't sell just coffee, I hate coffee and love places with more options. Moving here, I was excited to find a place like this down the road. I come here almost daily. I've had all the energy drinks, tried them all. A lot of them were very delicious and some wasn't. My favorite is the blue lagoon, I can't go back to anything else. My husband loves the watermelon one. We tried the holiday drink they have this year and it's really good and love the sweet cold foam on top. The place is always clean and service is always fast. Everyone is always so nice, however my coffee is NEVER right. I just want the tiniest splash of cream and always specify that, my drink continues to come out white. It's Frustrating after leaving a tip to have to ask to have my coffee remade almost every time. Please fix this! read more

The service at Black rock was great. The young servers were very attentive and followed every instruction. My birthday coffee was free and absolutely delicious. I like black hot coffee with nothing in it and sometimes I get bitter coffee. Not at this black rock café. It was very good. My beef with this black rock is the gluten-free doughnut. Once a year I allow myself a doughnut, and this was the day. When I got home and decided to enjoy my donut with my coffee. The donut was so dry. Outside was dark brown and hard as if it had deep fried too long. The inside was so dry that I would not have gotten it down without a drink after the bite. So I would say enjoy your coffee or any drink you want, but stay away from the gluten-free donuts. read more

This place is going to get someone shot. Went through the drive thru and were told to go behind someone but what we noticed is that the order takers were not working with each other so cars were going in any order they wanted. After being honked at for nudging our way in line, 4 carts after what we were told, the wrong person may have pulled out a weapon and you know the rest. Very stupid business model. Should train your people better. Didn't help that I called them fucking retards and cunt, as I should have been more PC and said freaking mentally challenged. LOL read more

Black rock is the Arizona version of Dutch bros. Without being nearly as unique and trendy with their drink choices. I do like their lavender and honey lattes with oat milk, my tried and true drink to try. And their Mexican mocha is delicious. I do love the little cookies they sell and they have a sticker day every first Tuesday of the month. So it's worth going sometimes for sure. But their espresso is not my favorite, and tends to run on the acidic side. Their energy drinks are pretty good and I've liked all their options. I hate that they use the blandest most common syrup brands: torani. It's just lazy and the syrup brand isn't good quality at all. I prefer monin when I see a coffee shop have them they seem to care more about the quality of their lattes. Black rock feels like the fast fashion of coffee places. The owner broke away from Dutch bros to open their own and it doesn't feel like better quality. The prices and reward system seems good enough to me tho. I like this locations vibe and ambiance. Good for meeting and talking to friends or doing some quick work. read more

I have come to this location every day since they opened and have ordered the same thing. When I went 2 days ago, I was given a drink that I had drank half of until I realized a hair was inside it. I took the lid off and stuck my straw down to pull it out. I figured maybe 1 hair fell in. I then realized there was more hair, both short and long black hair! It was throughout my drink that I had drank half of already!! I sent a comment to this location and still haven't heard anything. I will never go back here. There is no way this much hair can accidentally get into a drink!!! read more

Ordered a small cold brew with no sugar no cream and asked for it in a large cup because I wanted room so I could add my own creamer, I was given a large cup filled to the top and it was very clear water was added to fill my drink to the top of the cup. Completely wasted almost $6 to receive a "cold brew" that just tasted like water. This could've been avoided if the worker that made my drink decided against adding water.. Love Black rock go to the ones in Queens Creek and I go to the one in my area San Tan Valley the kids are great fast working when they don't have long lines but they're pretty nice and get things done as fast as they can. Highly recommend cleaning coffee shop.Great workers I give them a 10 star cause they're very sweet very polite. read more

This review has nothing to do with the drinks or food here. However, I am taking a food handlers test and I saw a violation that I want to get out. I was in drive thru this past Sunday(6-23-24). As I was waiting for my drinks I could see through the window into the building. A worker inside had clearly not showered before going to work. She had mid to long hair and it was dyed blonde/light brownish hair. It was very oily bed head looking hair. Regardless of a bath that day, you should not go to work with your hair down if you did not wash it. This is poor hygiene in a place where food and drinks are made. Bacteria and pathogens can be more transferable if you are not clean. read more
