Popular and quick little drive through coffee shop. I was super tired and was leaning towards getting the I.V. drink. Staff was super helpful with my questions about caffeine content and how I might feel drinking this specific drink. I ultimately followed through with getting the I.V. which consists of Irish cream, vanilla breve with 6 shots. Yeah, 6 shots of espresso!! Not only was this drink delicious but it BROUGHT ME BACK TO LIFE!! The coffee is delicious!!! We got the black coffee & caramel blondie, which this place did not disappoint. If you replace their regular milk for oat milk (.99 more), it tastes even creamier! The only issue I have is that they don't allow you to throw outside trash & they're a drive thru only. I find the concept stupid because essentially they're losing some customers since people go to coffee shops to study, wait for someone, etc., the ladies were also not exactly the nicest people on the planet - they want you to get your coffee & go without making any conversation. Always a great pick-me-up with crazy fast service! Everyone working there has great energy. Any coffee or energy drink combo leaves you caffeinated for the entire day. Like seriously it's strong. Reminds me of a San Diego version of Dutch Bros. Caramel blondie, Irish coffee, and the matcha are my go tos. Coffee tastes like coffee not just sugar. All my orders are still pretty sweet though. Both locations are great too btw!! When busy it can be difficult to drive into the line so just make sure you go in the right drive way so don't have to circle the lot. read more

We came here because it had a drive-through, and we were headed out of town. The line went fast and the service was super friendly. We got a mango smoothie, a blended IV half sweetened, and a iced jack hammer. Each drink was crafted well and was super delicious for 3 drinks our total was 25 bucks...kinda pricy for beverages and that's the reason I'm giving a 4 star read more

I was pleasantly surprised when my little sister suggested that we go to Black Rock for coffee. Excuse me? Not the usual starbucks? I'm a huge fan of supporting the local businesses, but there's a starbucks at every corner. It is a little drive thru joint that had a huge line (like In N Out style) but the line went fast. I think their coffee is reasonably priced and it tasted so good. I ordered the americano and felt like i wanted go clean my house after (i loved it.) my favorite part was that each staff member acknowledged my dog snd gave her a little treat plus the whipped cream! Been coming here for years and their blended coffees are delicious. There can be a lot of bees that swarm this place sometimes, but the girls are usually really nice about it. Not sure why I gave this place a 3 star before but this is the absolutely fastest coffee place ever. They consistently move the large line through in minutes and the coffee is great. I really like their nitro cold brew. The staff is friendly and efficient and they are consistent. I never turn away when the line loops around the lot. They just move so quick and are well staffed for such a small place. This place is more expensive than most but it's a small business in a small drive through. I am ok paying a little more for phenomenal service and a good coffee in a fraction of the time as Starbucks. You see that line when you drive up? Don't even worry, it goes quick! I won't come back here. The service was friendly enough. I like that they have a drive thru! I ordered my usual, go-to sweetened latte and asked for no ice. They only filled up my cup 60% of the way. We are huge fans of Dutch Bros coffee (from Oregon)...Black Rock is the Cali-Version of that! The barista was so happy and cheerful to take our Iced Latte orders at 6pm (coffee addicts). The Caramel Truffle latte was smooth and velvety and was the perfect "dessert drink" for after my meal. read more

I love this place!! The girls that work here are so sweet and always so friendly! Isabella, Molly and Leslie always give great customer service! I feel so special when I come here because everyone pretty much knows my order :) Also, the drive through line gets pretty long here sometimes and I am always impressed at how fast/efficient they are. So if you see a long line- don't be intimidated, it will go quickly! I have never had one bad experience or drink and will continue to come back here over Starbucks any day. Overall they have really great coffee. The one near me had some staffing issues for a bit, some of the baristas had a but of attitude but thats something only the individual themselves can control. They hired new people and theyre cool though. I would loooooovve a nutrition information pdf though in the near future they used to have one but when youre cutting, it really helps to know the macros in the drinks you're getting instead of just guessing. This is the place that does a caramel drink right. I ordered the caramel blondie based on the rave reviews and it is honestly a life changing drink. It's creamy and sweet; and also has a good amount of caffeine as well. I really regretted not getting a large. It isn't overwhelmingly sweet but I would recommend asking for a less sweet option if they have it. If you like the creaminess of half and half, then you would really enjoy this drink. Black Rock in Oceanside is more like a coffee stand. It's drive through and the lines were super long, considering that I came during Covid times. It's a drive through but there is a person taking orders and swiping your card with an iPad, which I'm slightly insecure about. I would prefer maybe like a station where they have wipes and disinfect after every use. Also the close contact with the person taking the orders too. Although everyone there was wearing gloves and a face mask. They have an interesting menu with a lot of variety. I also came out with a chai smoothie, Red Bull with passion fruit, and orange juice. I really do enjoy a sweet latte though, so I will definitely come back for more caramel blondies. This place is such an interesting concept. They're a tiny little drive through stand right next to Taco Bell. The entrance to the drive thru is noticeable by looking for the orange cones so be sure to go the right way. The staff working here are really friendly. I usually don't like drive throughs but it's usually not crowded here so I don't mind it. I asked the staff which drink was the most popular, and they recommended me the Blackout, which is a hazelnut mocha. It was absolutely delicious and I'm totally sticking with it as my go-to drink of choice every time I come here. It basically tastes like a hot chocolate with a tiny hint of espresso but I like to get it iced. I highly recommend the Blackout if you like sweet, chocolate-y drinks. On the other hand, I ordered a salted caramel Blondie with almond milk recently for my friend and I thought it tasted a bit too artificial and sweet, so I am not sure I would recommend that drink. read more

I'm not one to ever leave a yelp review because most the time I understand but not this time. I've been coming to this place for a long time and dropping $7-$10 a day because I actually love it here. But one employee is seriously ruining that. There's a blonde girl who's almost always working the window, and she is flat-out rude-every single time. No greeting, no basic manners, just a nasty attitude that makes customers feel like an inconvenience. It's not just a bad day either this has happened repeatedly, and I know I'm not the only one who's noticed. She has zero respect for the people keeping this place in business, and it blows my mind that she's still working customer service. She's all over your yelp.
