this place is overall good, many times they do mess up on my order(asking for a medium cup, then getting given a small and getting charged for a medium, 2 times of getting one of the deal fuels large for 4.50 but getting charged for the normal large price 6.50, and asking for a blended fuel and getting it iced.) overall it's a good place but my orders have gotten messed up a ton compared to other coffee shops, it's just a lil frustating, the workers are very kind aswell. read more

Blackrock is always my favorite coffee place. Starbucks never seems to be consistent with the flavors I prefer. All of the baristas are great! And the line usually isn't too long..... I definitely prefer this location over some others. read more

The service is friendly sure, but it would be better if the drinks were made consistently correct. Unfortunately, it is usually wrong. I asked for a blended lavender rockstar NOT a lemonade lavender rockstar but for some reason they keep making it wrong. I have to travel 3 extra miles just to have the drink made right. LAVENDER IS PURPLE, but the drink they make looks like blended Mt. Dew. When it is correct it looks almost clear with a hint of purple pastel haze. read more

Yelp isn't showing the Black Rock on McLoughlin and Arlington, so I'm posting here...for I don't know the address. I even looked on the site. I stopped by there one morning when I was out of coffee and didn't feel like Starbucks. It was a process to get a simple coffee. It seemed like they did used the espresso machine to make it. Hmm. The staff is always very friendly and quick. I always get plain espresso and usually the shots seem to be pulled correctly and have that subtle sweetness that comes from the crema. Occasionally the shots taste burnt and bitter. I'm not surprised by this because most BR drinks are pure sugar, so I doubt many guests can tell if the espresso is made correctly or not. This was my "Go-to" Black Rock location-until now. This morning I ordered my usual drink-raspberry Red Bull-and got to work and realized it was actually some sort of raspberry/mint hybrid flavor, which was really not good. Oh well, these things happen. But when I went back to get my afternoon fix and informed them, I was asked why I didn't just bring it back (I was at work and even if I wasn't, I probably wouldn't drive out of my way to return a drink), instead of offering me any sort of apology or replacement drink. I ordered a large cappuccino, which is what I assumed they gave me. Since it was large, I didn't get to find out it wasn't a cappuccino for another 20 minutes. Not only was this not a cappuccino, it tasted like almost pure liquid sugar. I'm not exaggerating, it was undrinkable. When I drove back to exchange it, the girl didn't so much as apologize, just silently remade it and handed it to me. I was polite when I explained the issue, too. That's the weirdest experience I've ever had as far as drive-thru coffee joints. 0/10 never returned. read more

I haven't been able to go to this location for the past 2 months, but before that I went here every morning. The staff had amazing customer service, and always made my coffee how I liked it. I currently go to other locations because of convience, and they always make it a little different. I would definitely recommend this location if it's not out of the way. read more

Wow, they must be great on their specialty coffees because they are still in business and they are across the street from a Starbucks. I ordered a regular coffee with sugar and half and half and it was curdled. I took it back and the barista couldn't understand how a store bought refrigerated dairy product could spoil if left out at room temperature for hours? I don't want a bowl of cereal at her house. Oh well, I think she figured it out and gave me another for free. Nothing that great about the taste of their blend. The boss said she once worked for Starbucks and "they" intentionally burn the beans during the roast to give it a slightly bitter bite. I sure miss the taste from Coffee People a decade back. And the free chocolate covered coffee beans they gave out for free with a coffee, if you asked. It made you want to go home and wash the garage. read more

Great drinks and even better people working here. Super tasty Americano (2 Splenda and 2 percent milk please). The baristas here are very nice and a real treat to talk with. Black Rock, like Starbucks, charges .50 extra to use non-dairy milk in their drinks. Since soy costs no more than cows milk, I have decided not to buy my coffee drinks there anymore. I never found there coffee to be anything special anyhow, and their "baristas" seem far too young to put any real effort into it. Try Dutch Brothers - they actually care about what they serve. I love this place! Every time I drive through they will already have my drink ready if they see me pull in. They also remember my name and give my dog a treat every time. They are always extremely friendly. It is very rare to see customer service this good. I never go anywhere else for my daily coffee. read more
