Highly recommend. I got the #1 - garden goat. Absolute delicious and very quick service!

AMAZING FOOD!! These were probably the best grilled cheeses I've had. They have really great options.

This is an iconic Packing District stop, but for me, the experience was just okay. The bread itself was great, and the grill on it was perfect. However, the bread to filling ratio felt off...there was just too much bread in every bite. Service wasn't particularly friendly, though they did their job. Standard pocket shop vibe.

My goat cheese sandwich was tasty, but after paying $12 for my half sandwich & tipping, the two guys working said no to providing me with a cup of water. They said I could go across the way to an unrelated vendor to get water. Seriously?

"Make your own" with rye bread, swiss and pepperjack cheese, arugula pesto, and onions
    Doug B.

We were at the Anaheim Packing District for a reservation at the Blind Rabbit and thought we would eat before from some of the various food places there. My girlfriend loves grilled cheese sandwiches so she chose the Black Sheep grilled cheese bar for her food. They are located upstairs and are the first food place to the right when you walk in the main front entrance. Their menu has ten different versions of a grilled cheese sandwich with various ingredients, but you can also configure your own which is what she went for. She ordered rye bread, with swiss and pepper jack cheeses, arugula pesto, and onions. They give you a vibrating pager to let you know when your order is ready. I ordered from another place and we ate our food at the Black Sheep counter. Her sandwich was ready pretty quick. It is a good sized sandwich and it comes with a slice of dill pickle. She enjoyed the sandwich and the employees were nice. I had a few bites also and it was good.

    #8 Pork of July W/Porchetta

My husband and I stopped by the Anaheim Packing House on a weekday for an early dinner a few weeks ago. Although we have our favorite spots within the Packing House, we wanted to try something different and decided to order from Black Sheep GCB. We were warmly greeted upon approaching their stall. The staff member serving as the cashier was friendly and very patient with our questions as we sorted out what we wanted to eat. My hubby and I eventually decided on splitting the Pork of July. The wait time was reasonable as there were a few orders ahead of us. The product was worth the wait; a picture perfect grilled cheese sandwich that tasted just as good as it looked. The ratio of ingredients within the grilled cheese was good and complemented each other well. The sandwich was a little spicy for me. It wasn't a bad thing, it was just unexpected. My husband loved it. The cheese was a great texture without it making the whole sandwich too gooey. I'm usually not a fan of swiss cheese, but it worked perfectly with the components of this sandwich. Overall, we were pleased with our first experience with Black Sheep GCB. There were a handful of other sandwiches we wanted to try off of their menu and we look forward to doing so upon our next visit to the Anaheim Packing House.

#5 The Man- Sourdough bread, sharp white cheddar cheese, and wines cured salami.
    Keith H.

The food was really good. Only reason i took off a star was because i had to rebuild the sandwich after one bite. If they used chopped salami i think it would be better. Tomato soup was good too, pricey, but good.

    ##5 The Man ‍
    Anne C.

The #5 was truly such a simple but amazing grilled cheese. Paired with the tomato bisque and you'll have a great light bite pairing for lunch. The tomato bisque was light and full of flavor! The only reason this dish got four stars out of five was because the salami kept falling out of the sandwich but other than that, the flavors were great!

Love that vegan grilled cheese! I haven't found a better vegan version of a grilled cheese. The cheese is creamy and melts. It's delicious! The bread is really thick and goes nicely with the cheese. My cousin and I really enjoy these grilled cheeses. I do miss the charcoal lemonade drink they used to have. I hope they bring it back sometime. Service is always good. They make the grilled cheeses right in front of you. Ambiance is fast food like; you order and they make it behind the glass. Then you go up to grab it once it's done.

    Khoi H.

What a surprise! I'm a big fan of Grilled Cheese and I'm on a quest to try everything in APD. GCB serves grilled cheese and chips and they sure know how to make one. It's grilled perfectly and the portions are decent; each serving also comes with a free pickle as well. Service is friendly and the food comes out relatively quickly.

    Kevin H.

I tried the #10 K-Melt and it did not disappoint! The pepper jack cheese was perfectly melty, the marinated bulgogi beef was flavorful and tender, and the fresh jalapeños added just the right amount of heat and a nice crunch. The gochujang tied everything together beautifully, giving it a rich, slightly spicy kick. The grilled bread was crispy on the outside and soft inside, holding everything together without getting soggy. The staff was friendly and welcoming If you're a fan of melty, flavor packed sandwiches with a little heat, this one is definitely worth trying! Since it's located in the Anaheim packing house, the atmosphere is busy and lively. 5/5 - would order again.

Food: #10 The K-Melt has sourdough bread, pepper jack cheese, marinated Korean Bulgogi Beef w/ onions, fresh raw jalapenos and gojuchang aioli; this tasted amazing and the jalapenos gave it a nice kick and crunchy texture; plus had the Scratch Made Tomato Soup, which was perfect for this sandwich to dip into Service: made-to-order service Design: interiors is part of the Anaheim Packing House, but this place has the black & white logo and aesthetic; love the design/style of the Anaheim Packing House Overall: if you want great and unique melted cheese sandwiches with great tomato soup, then you have to stop by this place in Anaheim

    1. Garden Goat with Scratch Made Tomato Soup - IG @bougiefoodieboi
    Kyle W.

One of many vendors in the Anaheim Packing District, this place specializes in grilled cheese of different varieties. A lot of grilled cheese I am familiar with uses cheddar or gouda, so we opted to try the Garden Goat that had goat cheese, with caramelized onions, tomato, and pesto which makes it more like a caprese-like sandwich. We also got the scratch made tomato soup as grilled cheese doesn't feel complete without the soup. The grilled cheese is hearty but not too heavy, very flavorful and nicely toasted. The tomato soup is just the right amount of saltiness and tanginess and pairs well with the grilled cheese. Even though it was not busy, food took about 10 minutes mostly because everything is made fresh to order. Counter seats available to dine and provides an open kitchen view to show how they prepare the orders.

    Nice looking stand.

Ask the Community - Black Sheep GCB

Which cheese are vegeterian friendly and made without animal rennet?

Hello. The only cheese I can think of that is vegetarian friendly and made without animal rennet would be our vegan chao cheese. It is 100% vegan. I hope that helps.

Will you ever serve gluten free bread?

Do they still serve the porchetta swiss?

Yes we still serve Porchetta. We were currently sold out over the weekend and temporarily sub it with Tavern Smoked Ham. It will be available again after the weekend.

What made the stop even better was the service behind the bar. The employee taking our order and serving the sandwich was genuinely pleasant, attentive, and accommodating, offering great recommendations that made choosing easy and the experience even smoother. The sourdough was exactly how it should be: fresh, crisp, lightly toasted and sturdy enough to hold everything together. Inside, Calabrian deviled egg salad met a perfectly jammy egg, spicy mayo and peppers for a creamy, tangy kick with just the right amount of heat. Messy? A little. Worth it? Absolutely. This was a lip-smacking, reach-for-another-bite kind of sandwich. We didn't have time to dive into the beer selection, but there were plenty of tempting options. With its business-district location, this would be an easy stop after work for a cold brew and a seriously good sandwich. Quick stop. Great service. Killer sandwich. The Devil Made Me do it.

I ordered on a Saturday and it took about 30 minutes for the food to be ready, so you might want to order ahead if you're already hungry . I asked for the vegetables on the side and both sandwiches cut in half. I got the #1 Classic Dac Biet Banh Mi and the #6 Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi. #1 Classic Dac Biet This was VERY good. I think I actually like their dac biet better than Banh Mi My Tho, and that was my favorite banh mi place coming in! There was something about their pate that was so savory and umami. Whatever it was actually dripped everywhere, but it was delicious . I say pate "sauce" because I always thought pate was more of a paste that gets smeared onto the bread, and I don't think the liquid was coming from the vegetables. Either way, I haven't really had anything quite like it before, and it went really well with all the meats. The vegetables were fresh, and they were very generous with them too. The only thing I really wish was better was the bread. It was toasted, but it was so hard that it actually cut my gums. I had to tug at the sandwich just to get a bite off . Unfortunately, the bread was the same on both sandwiches. #6 Crispy Pork Belly I had pretty high expectations for this one. The pork belly looked juicy and wasn't completely dry, but for some reason, the more I chewed it, the drier it tasted. I also thought the flavor was pretty mild. I really wanted to like this one, but honestly, I'd probably rather eat the roasted pork belly by itself and dip it in some hoisin sauce. Between the two, #1 is definitely the one I'd come back for. I'd skip #6 next time and try another sandwich instead. The dac biet alone is enough to bring me back!
