Overall unfortunate experience. I do not recommend this as a place to get a haircut unless you are very direct and outspoken. Casey did not listen to what I wanted, was dismissive of my ideas, and spoke over me multiple times. I had checked with him before I went that it would be okay if we cut my hair to donor specifications. He assented and then, when I arrived for my appointment, told me he "hated when people wanted to do stupid stuff like that." He then cut it off inaccurately. The organization is now unable to use it. (I should have left after his initial comment. That's my fault.) Wasted two and half years of hair growth because he didn't believe in an organization (which he had never heard of before and done no research on) and stated at the end that the "kid will still have cancer anyway." I understand not everyone has the same values but that's no reason to dismiss a client's wants or to agree to do something if you can't do it. read more

I've been going to Casey for about 18 months. He knows what to do with my medium thick shaggy hair and I wouldn't dream of having anyone cut my hair. He's also given my Mom one of her best haircuts ever, and she has super hard to work with baby-fine hair. This was my first visit to his new spot, Black Sheep. His new space is a salon within a differently named skin and nail salon. The room is cozy and inviting, he even has beverages to share. Casey gave me a new cut and my first ever salon color. Casey was his usual charming self while he worked, first applying my color then doing my haircut. He gave me a rich chocolaty brown - exactly what I'd asked for - and a trim with easy to manage bangs. He trims bangs in between haircuts, so no stress there. I hadn't asked about cost, his haircuts have always been reasonable. Cut and color together were a LOT lower then I'd expected. I walked out feeling happy and good about my hair! My at-home reception was great, too. Both kids loved the color as did the BF...one of the kids actually mentioned it AGAIN the next morning! I got a second round of compliments from a preteen...and when does that happen ever??? So glad Casey has a new place all his own where he can shine. read more
