I HIGHLY recommend "The Colin," which might be the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had that wasn't my mother's. My husband commented that the bun on his burger was a little too large in proportion to his burger's size, but loved the burger toppings. I didn't care for the smoked fries, but that flavor just isn't my cup of tea. The boozy milkshakes were fun, plus I LOVE how they use local custard by the one and only Andy's Frozen Custard. I am a vegetarian and can appreciate that my carnivore husband and myself can both enjoy eating out at the same place! Very pleasantly surprised to find a burger joint with vegetarian options that don't just involve a salad selection! I also appreciate the easy-to-read and compact menu as well. The day we went, the staff seemed too few for the crowd present. Our waitress did a fine job given that she was over-sat with tables. I enjoy the decor, but the bistro-style tables & chairs have got to be some of the most uncomfortable chairs I've experienced at a restaurant. My wife and I wanted to find a cool spot to spend Valentine's Day, and we had heard about this place from some friends. We arrived at about 5:30 on the Saturday before Valentine's Day. It wasn't terribly busy, and we got a table in about 20 minutes. There aren't many spots to sit and wait, so we had to stand out front (and try to avoid the awkward guy who was tripping on something and talking crazy). They text you when your table is ready, which is a nice use of technology. The hostesses were nice and helpful. They have TVs all around and above the bar area, so you easily watch a game. Danielle was our waitress, and she was wonderful! She made some great recommendations for us and had the perfect balance of checking on us, but not too much. She was personable and asked us some questions and was just really pleasant. Now, the food. Wow! My wife and I agreed: best burgers we've ever had! I had the one with a burger and sliced filet mignon. It was delectable. They were perfectly cooked, and it was just enough food to fill us up, and we even had some leftovers! We got one order of fries, and that was enough for both of us. The food arrived on our table within 10 minutes or so. We ordered two shakes, since we wanted to have the full experience. I am so glad we did! They were incredible. I got the Elvis shake (without banana), so basically just chocolate and peanut butter. YUM. Smooth and delicious. The wife got the Strawberry Fields Forever and loved it as well. We were both very pleased with Black Sheep Burgers and thought it was a fun experience with delicious food and shakes. I came here on Friday night with high expectations since all the yelp reviews were very good. That's usually pretty bad for most restaurants since with my expectations i usually leave disappointed. Not so in this case. My wife, myself and my young son showed up about 6:30 and were told it was a 35 minute wait. We figured it would be about that, and they told us they would text us when our table was ready. 20 minutes later we were sat at a six person table with a highchair. The atmosphere was like most downtown restaurants, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. I ordered the blackberry shake (blackberry pie, Andy's custard, and blackberry vodka) Not bad, and worth the $8.50 price for it. Little man also got the kids burger. I ordered the "What the Dr. ordered" (4oz beef patty, short ribs slow cooked for 12 hours in Dr. Pepper, and organic fried egg, and truffle mayo.) I wanted to eat it slowly and enjoy it, but the burger had other plans. It was a complete mess to eat, but screw it. I have been dreaming of this burger since I inhaled it. Wife got the Jerk Burger.(two 4oz beef patties, jerk spice, ghost pepper cheese, and spicy fried onions) She love it, and she is picky burger eater. We topped it all off with the smoked fries, that came with really good regular ketchup, siracha ketchup. and siracha mayo. All were very good. I was afraid to get the bill since I have heard many people complain about the prices here, but in all honesty a $45 bill did not break me. I spend that at Fuddruckers, Five Guys, Big Whiskey's or really any other burger place in town. In summary a delicious and unique take on burgers, fries and shakes, for a decent price. I had the Cowboy Carl. Holy shit. It might have taken a year or two off my life, but it was worth it. I think "Cowboy Curtis" would be a more apropos name though. Holy CRAP! We've burgered at damned near every joint in a 100 mile radius. You see, I'm a home cook, and I make a fantastic burger myself, but sometimes, I want something that won't make a disaster area out of my kitchen, and it's too damned cold to grill... so I turn to restaurant burgers. They usually fall flat, they aren't juicy, they're too greasy, they're barely seasoned, they're over seasoned, the bun turns to goo... a burger seems like such an easy thing, but getting it right is tough. Black Sheep got it right. My burger, the Jamaiican Me Crazy, was perfectly seasoned without being garish, the meat was juicy but well rendered, the bun wasn't soggy or cardboardy, vegetation included was crisp and crunchy... this right here is getting it right. But that's not what blew my doors off. A great burger is a thing of beauty, but it's dog balls without it's friend french fries. You can't have Gilgamesh without Enkidu, and you don't want a good burger without good fries. These fries my friends, were not good. They were a freakin' revelation!! We did the regular fries, and the smoked fries, and the answer to every question you've ever asked is smoked fries. Smoked fries can stop a speeding Tardis, they can out-roundhouse Chuck Norris, and they regularly divide by zero just for the hell of it. I wept a little. I'm far from done exploring their menu, and I kid you not friends, forsake this place to your personal burger peril! I'm done eating elsewhere, and you should be too. Stop right now, drop your kids off at grandma and grandpa's, and go get your burger on right now!! I was expecting more given all the good reviews. nothing wrong with this place they delivered a solid burger but I was expecting more from the reviews. The cowboy burger was pretty good although the bun tasted like a cheap bun from the local dollar store. If you are going to put so much effort into the burger for god sake's put a nice bun with some texture not those cheap junk buns. The sweet potato fries were very airy didn't taste too much sweet potato. Service was good no problems I wouldn't run back here but I would probably come back if I was in the area. Overpriced and uncooperative sandwich Shop. Sandwiches have fancy names and recipes but are basically tasteless. I ordered a chicken sandwich without Prosciutto but they told me that I had to give 24 hour notice. However, when I got the sandwich, I just opened it and took off the prosciutto. I guess the chef was trying to impress that it is a secret recipe. The spreads on sandwiches eaten by friends who had accompanied were sloppy and bland. To reiterate, no special taste. Well worth the drive around the block several times looking for a parking spot! We were traveling through Springfield and this place had great reviews so we stopped in and it was soooo good!! We had the ugly burger and the spring philly both were mouth watering good! We also had the apple smoked fries. I loved them but the hubs wasn't a fan of the smoke flavor. We also had the strawberry fields and the boss shake non alcoholic and highly recommend them! As well the the strawberry lemonade alcoholic drink. It was very very good! I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was hip without being pretentious, our waiter was friendly and went out of his way to explain the menu and make suggestions and the food was excellent. I really had no complaints. My friend and I shared the Bleus Brothers Burger (minus the bleu, add pepper jack), smoked fries and a virgin strawberry shortcake shake. It was PLENTY of food for lunchtime and split in half the pricing not half bad. The burger was juicy and full of flavor and not greasy at all. The veggies were crisp and the bun also delicious. I was dubious of the smoke fries but they were crispy with a perfect flavor. The shake was also excellent with a perfect, creamy texture (it's that Andy's famous frozen custard), sweet strawberries and generous chunks of shortcake. An overall excellent experience read more

Love this place the only thing I would say is don't wear shoes that you can't walk well in because the floors are slippery af. The burgers are the best, the bar upstairs is so cute, the fries and pickles are good (order the pickles without spice because they're so spicy) and the alcoholic shakes are so fun to share.
