Okay I'm all about supporting small businesses but when the service is absolutely horrible it makes it really hard to want to come back to this location. When I walked in I was alone and the shop was empty the two girls were clearly more interested in their own conversation than welcoming me into the shop and when I said hello first they both just glared at me like how dare i interrupt their conversation so I can order a coffee. Then my partner walks into the shop they also don't welcome her in and she says hello and they don't even respond. Whatever, we still place our order 3 coffees came out to 28.95 btw, and we wait for our order. Out comes the first coffee and it literally had 3 cubes of ice in it so I asked if I can get a cup of ice and she replies yeah I guess and she gave me 4 cubes of ice in a cup :) The coffee was good so that's why the 2 stars. Located inside the village area, it's a good spot to get a coffee break. The inside is nice, with tables to sit at. The menu is simple, no specialty drinks available and they have some food items as well. I ordered the horchata late with oat milk. I usually get almond but they didn't have any. Drinks came out fast but there was no horchata taste at all. The coffee itself tasted good but I was expecting the horchata flavor. Came here during my break from snowboarding! This location is in the village and the yellow line can take you here from the eagle lodge. Was nice to take a break and enjoy a nice warm drink. I got a maple sea salt latte and it was firee! I do think the place is a little pricey like $10 for a latte but I think there is no many options around so its surcharged priced. My order was a simple cappuccino and a lady came in after me ordered a driving and she got her drink before me somehow. Then we clearly were sitting down at the coffee shop and she gave us the coffee in cardboard to-go cups, while serving other customers in dine-in type cups and when I asked the barista, she said "you should have asked for a regular cup". Got my wife and I an iced coffee here. Over 15$ for the smallest cup of iced coffee I've ever seen. (They only have one size) Like what a small water cup looks like. Plus it's all ice! It's unfortunate this coffee is actually enjoyable but the staff are so unbelievably rude. There was a gentleman who clearly didn't speak English, grabbed the wrong drink, stuck a straw in it and tasted it (which happened to be mine) set it back on the counter and the Mexican female worker asked me if I wanted it. Why on earth would I share a drink with a complete stranger. He clearly struggled communicating and confirming his order and she absolutely refused to speak to him Spanish even after he said I'm sorry, I don't understand - then she finally painfully clarified his order in Spanish. What would it have cost her to acknowledge him the first time? Then comes my second drink order - after being corrected for asking for the wrong alternative milk that they don't carry (like I'm supposed to know the menu), the blonde behind the counter gave me a drink with 2% and proceeded to berate me for asking if it was a milk alternative forgetting the conversation at the counter where I accidentally asked for the wrong milk alternative and proceeded to ask me if I wanted them to remake it. I didn't know I needed to explain to them lactose intolerances to justify fixing their mistake. These ladies don't have any sense of pride nor exhibit enjoyment in your product or service. Again, drinks and pastries are good quality (I didn't even comment about the price because I don't mind paying for a solid latte) but your staff absolutely sucks at any level of customer service. Took the gondola down from canyon lodge in hopes to have a nice break at a legit coffee place. Their menu suggests that this is a true coffee shop with cortados and macchiatos and home made syrups. Coffee: ok. The homemade syrup didn't shine and the room temp half and half at the bar (ran it over my finger) must have been out for hours. Staff: rude, disengaged and unfriendly. Hello, you work in a giant tourist location, try being nice? The barista who made my drink set it on the counter, as she did other drinks, without calling out the drink or name and then acted annoyed when customers "interrupted" her asking what the drink was. Mind you, maybe 6 people in the shop so not busy. Also got the pleasure of watching a customer come in after I grabbed my coffee demanding a refund (not sure why). This was honestly one of the worst coffee shop experiences I've had. The staff clearly don't understand their own menu. I asked about iced coffee and was told they don't offer iced drinks fine. But then my friend asked a very simple follow-up question about a drink they do offer iced: is it iced or blended? The employee couldn't even answer that. She kept repeating that it uses powder and completely avoided the actual question. It was basic, and the fact that it couldn't be answered says a lot. We tried ordering anyway and specifically said we didn't want straight espresso shots. We were told it's "traditional," but what we got was basically pure espresso, not what we asked for. The matcha was also not good. Overall, this felt like a lack of training and basic product knowledge. If staff can't answer simple questions about the drinks they serve, that's a serious issue.
