Salsiccio sausage pizza with sweet onions, red onions, garlic and grana padano. Great pie
    George E.

This place, Blackbird Kitchen, is generally not a walk-in so yesterday we made reservations for bar top seating so we could talk to the chefs. Darker interior, crowded, nicely dressed clientele, this place is "jacked with a cool vibe". Our perch near the food prep station allowed us to watch them making the magic and discussing our choices for dinner. We started with marinated warm mixed beet salad with dill, sherry vinegarette, mint, chili, citrus, pistachios and smoked cherve. This was a show stopper with the dill waking up your mouth and the beet and cheese being perfect. The mafaldine braised lamb sugo and grana padano was good, but just not memorable. The salsiccio fennel sausage, garlic, red onions, sweet onion and chili pizza was another story. The dough was slightly chewy, good airyliness, sweetness and a firmness to hold the ingredients without wilting. A perfect white pie! If you can get reservations or by chance snag a bar seat, get over to Blackbird Kitchen for a nice evening, pleasant staff and delicious dishes, you won't regret it. To the staff at Blackbird, nice job and thank you.

Amazing restaurant. This place is a hidden gem, well not really hidden but a local spot. The food is stellar. Service is great. The area is small so get there early or get a reservation if you can, this place is worth it. The kale salad is great. The pizza is top tier. The beer and wine menu is one of the best in the area. I will be coming back when I'm in the area next time.

Flavor everywhere Options abound Serving team cares I got here ten minutes before close and was welcomed like the first patron in that afternoon. I got a wonderful table near the right side bar, and then was welcomed again by a fantastic server who knew his stuff inside and out. I elected to go with a glass of wine that suited my needs, along with the white beans and a pasta dish. They were delicious, and I augmented those with a cappuccino. All the while, pleasing tunes were playing, the clientele was enjoying themselves, and I felt like I was ready for a bit more. As entirely delicious as everything was, I did have a bit of room left. Thus, I went with a dessert wine and the affogato, and let me tell you, I have zero regrets. I know it's only one visit, but I'm thrilled with the spot, and recommend it highly. It'll be on my list to return when next I return to Bozeman, hands-down. Highly recommended.

Walked in without a reservation and we were seated at the bar. We got the pizza we ordered after waiting for over 40 minutes. Unfortunately the diavola pizza was not worth the wait. The crust was thin and soggy, and only the edges were cooked well. The pizza was blah, the flavors were nothing to rave about. Maybe a different pizza would've been better. We also got the oyster mushrooms with mole blanco and those were tasty. The service was just ok.

Blackbird is hands down one of the best dinner spots I've ever been to and easily the best Italian I've had. Every dish was AMAZING. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Something else I looooove about this place is they don't use seed oils, and you can taste the difference. The flavors are clean, fresh, and seriously amazing. If you're in Bozeman, you have to eat here. Either make a reservation or get there right when they open and grab a seat at the bar. Trust me, it's worth it.

Made reservations for this restaurant that I found from TikTok. Glad I did because people were waiting for a table outside. They honored my reservation and sat us right away. There is no liquor only wine and beer. Place was a dark open kitchen , cool vibe that is located right on the strip. They were out of 2 pastas. (I wasn't happy about that) The menu is very small but the food is good. I recommend the diavolo pizza

I cannot say enough great things about this place. The food is outstanding. Every single dish - pizza, pasta, salad, dessert - was a hit. No misses. Excellent service, fabulous design, friendly staff. Easy 5.

This place is popular, but I'm grateful they were able to accommodate my husband and myself as walk-ins on a Monday night in the summer. I'd recommend making a reservation if you have a bigger party. They only serve beer/wine and didn't sell liquor- which I'm learning is common in Montana. Stracciatella was incredible, tomatoes were sweet and perfectly ripe. Chimmichurri skewers were a little tougher than I was expecting but had great flavor. And their ragu pasta was meaty, while the noodle shape did a great job capturing all the flavor of the sauce.

Blackbird Kitchen is a must if you're in Bozeman. Every dish we tried was amazing and it quickly became our favorite spot in town. Great food, hip vibes, and super friendly service. There might be a line but the food is 100% worth the wait. Service 10/10 - even on a busy summer night! Seating 10/10 (bar, no reservation) Food 10/10 everything was so flavorful! Drinks 10/10 local beers on point

No they do not have gluten free pizza. I am celiac and they do offer several sides and main dishes that are cooked in a seperate pan. (Just be sure to tell server you have gluten allergies)

When we came in at around 4pm, there seemed to be plenty of tables available but after an hour, the place quickly filled up. Vibes/Service: Parking lot in the back and it seemed there was some street parking available as well. Many, many tables available with bar seating as well. It can certainly fit a larger group. Great service from our server. Checked on us often and filled up our waters. Food: Because it was our first meal here, we wanted to try out their staple dishes. -Bison Potstickers ($16): 5 pieces topped with mango and garlic chili sauce and served with some coleslaw. Rich and filling, paired well with the sauce. Would order this again! -Bison Patty Melt ($22): it was my first time eating Bison, the waiter suggested medium rare. It looked more red than I usually like but it actually was juicy and tasty-- I guess this is the difference between a regular beef patty. I'd also order this again. -Served with pepper parmesan fries which was so uniquely food. Fries were fresh. -Huckleberry Cream Ale ($8/pint) paired well with my meal.

My server knew the special menu, regular menu and drinks very well. I ordered the bison patty melt and tots for the meal and the Bridger Hazy IPA for the drink. The bartender recommended the IPA and it was excellent. The homemade tots were great. A shredded potato in the middle, nice and creamy and crunchy exterior. Feedback was there were only 5 on the plate. Definitely could use more. The bison patty met was perfectly cooked. A lot of folks overcook and dry out the bison. It was perfectly medium and juicy. Feedback would be a little char on the patty would be great. The service really tailed off in the end, it was not super busy and they had about 5 servers behind the bar. I sat there for at least 15 min until another bar tender asked if I wanted another brew and my server came about 5 to 10 later to attend to things.

To start, we had the daily ceviche, which was a salmon ceviche with a bright citrus marinade, garnished with oranges and served alongside crispy wonton crackers. It was fresh, light, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. Next, we shared the hot crab dip, which was rich, warm, and packed with flavor. Served with grilled bread, it was the kind of dish you keep dipping back into because it's just that good. For our main dish, we shared the Brown Butter Scallops -- prosecco salt dusted scallops served with arugula pesto, herb mushrooms, and bacon & butternut squash arancini. The scallops themselves were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, but the real standout on the plate was the arancini. Crispy on the outside with a rich, savory filling of bacon and butternut squash, it paired beautifully with the rest of the dish and completely stole the show. The entire meal was beautifully plated and thoughtfully prepared. The only small note is that the restaurant can get a bit loud when it's full, which can make conversation with your dinner companion slightly harder. That said, the lively atmosphere shouldn't stop you from enjoying a meal here. Overall, it was an exceptional dining experience. If you go, do not skip the bacon and butternut squash arancini--it was the absolute star of the dish and truly sensational.

For my entrée, I got the Cajun scallops and WOW--they were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice. Definitely one of my favorite dishes I've had in Bozeman. I couldn't skip dessert, so I took home the masala chai panna cotta and the spiced chocolate torte, and both were amazing. The panna cotta was light with the best warm spice flavor, and the chocolate torte was rich in the best way. Online reservations were limited, however there seemed to be plenty of tables when we walked in for dinner. The restaurant feels slightly upscale, but casual enough for a comfortable atmosphere. Price is as expected for sushi. There were several interesting combinations that hit the right spot. Ziggy Stardust was my personal favorite, delicious in both flavor and texture. Strawberry Fields was another unique combination that pleasantly surprised us. We also ordered a Salmon Poke, Hammer Roll, and Big Sky Roll - all were pretty good. They did charge us an extra $1 when we asked for a side of spicy mayo and will charge a 2.5% fee for credit cards. All in all this is a pretty good spot and we had a great time!

No I don't recommend this restaurant!…read more I have tried it twice and both time have been miserably disappointed in the service. The price is always surprisingly expensive and generally when the total comes inevitably wrong. Often something we didn't order is added and you have to hassle getting removed from your ticket. The ambiance is lively and fun. However most the staff are standing around at the front in the bar gossiping. It's really annoying to hear them gossiping about guests! Bad Bad Bad manners! They talk too much and don't serve food in a timely manner. To wait an hour and a half is ridiculous. In general, the food preparation is ok. Fresh, but ok. My suggestion would be to dress up the presentation more than just putting it on the plate - it's an art that makes good Sushi special, and this doesn't do it for me! While it's decent, for Montana, it's not west coast Sushi and service staff needs an overhaul. Less gossip, better staff service with attention to the customers order, more timely service, more accurate orders.
