I have now had 5 orders out of 7 wrong. This is now the 2nd time I ordered a pizza and it arrived with all the toppings slid to one side of the pizza. This is my favorite pizza to eat in Tucson. Their delivery is fast and friendly. Prices are reasonable and they have an awesome rewards program. Over 30 years of being a satisfied customer and it was extremely inconsiderate to argue with me when I requested a replacement pizza and to pick up the burnt one. I ordered 4:52pm and it's already past 6:00pm I've been waiting for my replacement pizza with the burnt one sitting, waiting to be picked up. This has never been a problem before, I grew up ordering from this location and it was a family night with two XL pizzas and two XL pizzas I ordered yesterday, never have I seen the quality slip. Being treated like I did something wrong because I didn't want a burnt pizza wasn't right, in fact it was disturbing. So I love this place. The pan pizza is the best... but I had an issue with the food on my last visit, which was a week ago today. As with all "fast food" pizza joints, when you get the pan pizza, sometimes the dough isn't fully cooked through, so they have the well done option to check when you're ordering. Well... I've ordered from here 5 or 6 times and it's been a great experience. I tell everyone I know to grab Blackjack instead of Domino's or Pizza Hut cuz it's the best.... until you have a problem and then they don't seem to care. Everyone is always so friendly there. When you go pick your order up, they open the boxes for you and show you your stuff, etc... so I go get the pizza and wasn't really thinking about it, but they didn't show me my pizza. I drove 15 mins each way from my house to grab it. When I got home, I opened the box and this pizza was BLACK! it's like they ran it through the entire oven twice. I attempted to eat it, but it just wasn't edible. I was in no mood to drive the 30 minute round trip again so I left the box on the counter and went to bed. I answered all of the surveys and left my contact information. No one contacted me...so after waiting a few days, I called the store and they said I should have called them right away to let them know. So it really sucks, but I won't be back to Blackjack Pizza again. Guess I have to find another quality pizza joint in Tucson... ETA: After reporting this to the health department, I found that this establishment has quite a few health code violations listed. Eat at your own risk. Today I ordered a pizza and wings special. We brought it home and the wings smelled awful. My son, bless his tweenage heart, proceeded to taste it anyway. He said that it was the worst taste he's ever tasted. He showed me the chicken, AND IT WAS GRAY! The wings were spoiled, cooked, and dipped in sauce to pass off as edible. I've been eating Black Jack for around 10 years, this one being the main one we go to since the one on the NW side closed. It's always been a pretty good pizza for a reasonable price. A lot of times this place is hit or miss. The last time we ate here was a couple months ago. It's was so awful, we ate two slices and tossed it. I was hoping that it was just one poor experience. Today was the just the means to an end. To pay $30 for eight slices of all right pizza and rotten wings is absolutely ridiculous. OK, fine, Blackjack is a chain and not one of Tucson's finest artisen pizza places. But hey, when you want a good, inexpensive pizza and not go out to eat or take out, this is my go to place. There are always good coupons, either in the mail or online, so pricing is great. I just like their flavor. Their crust is good, sauce is good, and they put on a good quantity of toppings. When compared to all the other chains, Blackjack does it best, in my opinion. Pizza Hut is what it is and is acceptable. Dominos is the worst pizza on the planet. Little Caesar's is only good when hot and fresh, otherwise is just a small step above frozen pizza. Papa Murphy's marinara has a strange flavor to me. Papa John's is OK, but kind of greasy and, I don't know, has a "manufactured" taste to me. Blackjack is the King of chains for me, although that is a contradiction since they are a Jack. ;) ***UPDATE 2/13/20 Had the deep pan pizza for the first time. I really like it! The crust is really good. Nice and crunchy and unlike others' deep dish, this one is not greasy. There is a ton of cheese on it. Only three pieces did me in. I recommend it. Just scratching my head over the labeling/marketing because on the box and on the menu it says it is "square pan" but it definitely is a rectangle. LOL Regardless, good value and tasty, too. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Absolutely ridiculous I ordered an eight piece wing and an order of the Cinnabread they told me it would take 15 minutes and I was sitting there for 45 minutes while the lady knew I was there and kept looking at me it wasn't until another employee happened upon me and asked what my name was come to find out my order was ready the entire time and she chose to leave me there waiting horrible service I am completely furious because by the time I got my food it was cold. I've been ordering their wings for years, it's always a must. Today I got these burnt looking wings. When I called and told them the issue they said it's suppose to look like this because of the new breading on the wings. Obviously they don't have a proper structure when cooking them because the bottom of the wing isn't burnt at all (the one pictured flipped over) and the rest are evidently burnt. They don't know how to treat customers. Credit card machine was down when we got there and they knew ahead of time and hadn't told us over the phone. I don't carry any cash so I wasn't able to pay cash instead. Usually a good, caring business would just give the pizza to the customer, but not Blackjack. However, I do love the awesome delivery drivers that they have here. I'm in the middle of packing and moving so in a span of a week, I've ordered from Blackjack three times. Not the healthiest choice (although they have salads if you're into that) but definitely the BEST choice if you're in the mood for pizza. I've tried several different recipes and have just created my own pizza, which I have fallen madly in love with. They have a Santa Fe chicken pizza that has green 505 salsa on it--that one comes with a kick so be prepared. I almost died the night I ordered it but it was delicious and so I just kept eating it. But seriously, it was spicy! They have a rewards program, which is lovely. They also have a lot of topping options and sauce options (I just created a pizza with ranch dressing as the sauce base, and it is my new husband, it is that good) and you can also customize each half of a pizza in the event you have someone to share with. If you're in the delivery zone, tip your pizza guy. Seriously, mine is the best. He hasn't judged me even though he has seen me rather frequently in the past week. For the "no judgement" alone, he is the best. Also, very friendly and always on time, and never have I had any issues with my pizza being injured upon delivery.
