I have been wanting to try Choice Greens for a while now and had the chance to try it today. There were menus right by the door when you walked in, which was super helpful and convenient. There were plenty of workers ready at the counter to take orders and they were all friendly. I ordered a build your own salad with half romaine and half spring mix as the base, roasted red peppers, beets, roasted corn, feta, and grilled chicken, with olive oil and balsamic on the side, along with the rosemary focaccia. There was plenty of seating indoors, as well as outdoor seating, which my friend and I chose, with it being a nice day. The salads came out fast, were very plentiful, and fresh. I loved how much the salad were chopped and mixed together! It really made everything taste even better. I had higher hopes for the rosemary focaccia, as I felt the bread lacked the rosemary flavor I was expecting. Overall, I had a great experience at Choice Greens and would love to come back to try other menu items, and possibly give another star! I've been to Choice Greens a few times--it's been a go-to when I don't have time to make lunch or dinner at home. I tend to eat very clean and healthy, and there aren't many fast-casual places that cater to that kind of diet. My only issue with Choice Greens prior to my recent visit was the price. It's definitely on the expensive side, but I've always thought, "you get what you pay for," so I didn't mind spending $20 on a salad. Well, during my most recent visit, I got a build-your-own salad with chicken--and ended up with food poisoning. My best guess is that it was the chicken, since my partner got a very similar salad with almost identical ingredients, minus the chicken, and she was completely fine. Thanks to Choice Greens, I lost an entire day of work--something I really couldn't afford with a massive deadline looming. When I called to let them know, they offered me a gift certificate, which I don't want. What would have made it right is a refund. I'm not interested in a gift certificate when your food made me seriously ill. That's it. I won't be going back. I used to feel okay about spending a lot of money for what I thought was high-quality food--but now, I'm just bitter about it. Update since my original post: It's now been four days since I ate here and got food poisoning, and I'm seriously struggling--elevated body temperature and heart rate, extreme fatigue. My food today was quite good, and the order counter staff was very pleasant. BUT, the man who I believe to be the manager, was standing next to the only drink dispenser. When I tried to fill my cup he said very curtly, "You'll have to wait until I am done with this machine." I went and sat down, my food arrived in less than 5 minutes. He fiddled with the machine for at least 10 minutes more until he wandered off behind the counter. I had finished eating by then. No, "sorry to inconvenience you, I 'm sorry you had your meal with nothing to drink, or the drink machine is working again." A few minutes later he was verbally unpleasant to a young staff person. Went at 12:30 pm hoping ingredients would be fresh. Nope. Cauliflower was totally brown as was the lettuce. Other ordered ingredients were hard to find. Based on my good experiences with the other location, I thought I'd take my mom there when we were in the area. The place was clean and the staff was friendly. We both ordered the southwest chicken salad. I had to hunt through all the tops to find the lettuce. It was more like the lettuce was the topping for the chicken, cheese, beans etc. The little lettuce that was there was cut very small or a bit bruised. I love me some Choice Greens! Whenever I'm in town, I come here with my family at least once, but usually two or three times while staying. It is such an underrated local establishment that honestly deserves to be bigger than it is! The exterior of the building is a little bland and unassuming, but the dining area inside is clean, bright, and very welcoming. It's kind of like a Chipotle or Which Wich where you can customize your salads and sandwiches or select some pre-made ones from the menu. The prices are very reasonable, especially if you don't go overboard with the toppings. I usually keep my salads here pretty simple - in my opinion, simpler is better because they're so fresh, clean, and healthy! I do like to add avocado and sometimes a hard-boiled egg, though! I've found the salads here to be so unique - I just love the way that they chop it all up. It's so much more palatable and enjoyable to eat the way that it's prepared here. There's also mac n cheese that you can order here, which I have in the past, and found it to be very cheesy and delicious! Of course, I usually get one of the customizable salads, as that's what they're known for. The sandwiches are very good as well, though. I also love that they have several healthy but tasty juice and tea options available for drinks. Service here is always very friendly, helpful and efficient. You order at the front before finding a seat. On more than one occasion they've been very helpful in providing me with some recommendations for customizing my salad! This is a great salad place. They have other items like sandwiches and mac n cheese but the stars of the show are the salads. You can order what you want manually on a menu or just order one off their menu. They make the items right as you go down the line to pay. Fun to watch them prepping the food. While I miss the good old days with self serve salad bars, this was a nice alternative to still getting a custom salad. We grabbed a menu, asked a few questions about the process to the cashier, and placed our order. Our salads came out a few minutes later and we were very pleasantly surprised. Sometimes salads are nothing but greens and a few toppings - this was the opposite. The bowl was full of greens and had a healthy amount of toppings. I chose a romaine base with chicken, butternut squash, apples, and walnuts. I guess I was craving a fall harvest salad in the middle of summer. My mom went with one of her favorite salads - the classic cobb. Based on reviews I was expecting something delicious but what I got wasn't it. The salad was very bland and had very little dressing with a ton of chopped salad...way more than it should have. Also very little chicken, and cheese. I was going to add some additional ingredients but I thought paying almost $11 for a salad was pretty crazy.
