    Espresso martini flight
    Holly K.

Overall we had a lovely dinner at Blackstone. My only thing is that for the price it made it feel a bit more of a novelty spot vs a spot you'd want to head in regularly. Like I did enjoy it, but $19 for a very small piece of rib eye to add to the board, felt a bit much. With that being said our server was great, friendly and very on top of things. The pasta flight was tasty and fun and I did enjoy the fry flight. For the land flight, I just wish it would have come with a side, maybe a veggie on the board. Would have love to have seen a dessert flight! The interior is neat and you can tell a lot of thought went into it. If you are in to espresso martinis, definitely worth heading in to try out a flight at the bar!

Another great visit at Blackstone! We sat at a table and Matt was our waiter. He was awesome, very accommodating, attentive, and friendly. We tried to get a seat at the bar, but it was full at 7pm. We got the trio of fries, shrimp, ravioli, and tuna. Every one of them were delicious! We were a party of 4 and our hunger was satisfied with the 4 appetizers. The Tuna and cucumber was definitely my favorite. The lobster ravioli was unbelievable and the bacon wrapped shrimp...omg! Fresh oysters rolled in and the chef brought 6 of them out for us. Oysters were definitely on point, fresh, small, and delicious. Can't wait go back for some more. This is a great place to go with your foodie friends so you can try different things. All of the food and drink are really some of the best around.

I love everything about this place & think everyone needs to try it out! The entire menu is broken down into flights (appetizers with shrimp, calamari, french fries) pasta, protein from land and sea, drinks etc. There's a small menu on the back of regular sized plates and I think every menu item can also be made full size instead of a flight. We got the mojito flight, regular order of truffle fries, and the pasta & land flight. From someone who hates the taste of alcohol the mojitos were literally the best alcoholic drink I have ever had. Specifically the blueberry flavor. The truffle fries were absolutely amazing and the fry itself was the best kind of french fry you could ask for. The pasta flight was good, we did the alfredo, pesto, and penne vodka. Alfredo was a little too creamy and cheesy for me but if you like a heavier alfredo sauce you'd enjoy this. Pesto was a little disappointing at first but we realized it really needed to be mixed to get all the flavors together. The penne vodka was the star of the show and tasted sooo good. THE STEAK TIPS. I wish I got three orders of them, I don't even like steak that much and they were so flavorful and yummy. We paired it with the chicken parm and meatball. The chicken parm was good, kind of tasted like every other one from any restaurant. The meatball flavor was good but the texture kind of freaked me out but that might just be a me problem. This experience was so good and I love that you can try a little bit of everything. Each flight is customizable and the pricing is based off of each individual item. There is a full bar area and great options for seating, it gets a little crowded in there when every table is filled, but overall a great experience.

calamari, ahi tuna, mojito--blueberry,strawberry,rose and ... I forgot which was the fourth one. VERY cutesie presentation!!!

My best friend and I checked this place out on Friday night. Super busy in there and we were seated in just under 10 minutes! Really cute decor but unfortunately the service and food/flights were sub par. We did not do a full dining experience--the mojito flight, calamari flight, and ahi tuna flight. Mojitos: tbh I thought they tasted non alcoholic. Calamari: RI style was not great, honestly pretty oily. Same with the pesto flavored-- both of those flavors had about half inch of oil in the bottom of the bowl which made me feel so sick it was so oily. The sweet chili calamari was my fav of the 3!!! Ahi tuna: pretty alright but didnt have anything exciting. All 3 varients were kinda the same vibe too nothing very interesting or crazy flavors. Quite bland. Overall I would not prefer to dine back there again it felt more of an ambient and aesthetic place over the quality of food and service. I definitely think there is room for improvement.

Verrrrry gooood!!!! Drinks: We had the old fashioned flight ( Me) and the espresso flight. ( wife) both were good Espresso flight was the bomb!!! Especially the butter pecan. (Note, I wasn't able to drive after 1.5 hrs. Those drinks were small but mighty!! Fortunately wife's weren't as strong so she drove) Dinner: Had the flight for dinner with the New York strip, cowboy steak and the bourbon steak tips and shrimp. For sides we got asparagus and mashed potatoes Everything we had was as described, well presented, and very good. Service: great, nice and attentive staff we got everything on time and drinks refilled quickly and all the meats were brought out in a briefcase to display the options.

    Restaurant week special

Love the flight concept! We ordered a restaurant week special and the choices were good but instead of putting all the courses on one board we wished it was spaced out. Food was decent - steak and chicken was very salty. Ambience was cute but the service was a bit slow. Definitely want to go back and try ordering off the regular menu of flights.

    Setting was pretty

This is a recently opened steakhouse in EG, they also have one in Coventry. We made reservations, the inside is very pretty and the ambiance, moody, the service was a little slow but they only had 1 waitress. I ordered the wine flight it was ok not with the price. I had the steak flights and they were perfect, truffle Mac and cheese was heavenly! The French onion soup lacked passion and flavor wouldn't get that again. Overall it was a nice experience, def on the pricey side and I'm not sure it's worth what they charge. I think it will be a one and done experience for me, good luck BLACKSTONE

    Lobster tail flight

I had originally planned to go to a restaurant down the street, but fortunately they closed on me and I just happened to walk into Blackstone. Dope and modern ambience. I'm from California so of course I was searching for some sort of seafood. I ended up ordering the calamari flight, lobster flight, and scallops for the sides, I had asparagus and cream spinach. I highly recommend all of it! The bartender/server and her cohort were hella cool and pleasant to talk to. The Cooke/co-owner happened to come out and chop up some conversation with myself. It was a really good experience because I don't interact that much while I'm on business trips. I'm glad that I was fortunate to have eaten at this restaurant and I hope to come back with my wife someday. I'll post the pictures of the lobster tail and calamari. Thank you!

This…read morewas our first trip to Westerly to dine at this steak house, keeping in mind that we're in CT around the Navy Base so we aren't very familiar with the Westerly downtown footprint. Upon entering Chillingham's we were immediately greeted by a smiling, happy to help face. The entry way was clean and didn't feel as if it was closed in, hard to access, and it didn't feel as if I was an interruption to other customers enjoying their meal. The atmosphere was easy to slip into and felt highly comfortable, especially for an upscale steak house. Accessibility is a hard feat for Chillingham's. In the Westerly downtown area, they are tucked in behind the main strip, and their access area is a hidden drive beside a secured parking lot. Once we had located Chillingham's, which wasn't an easy task, signage is well marked from the RI direction but not from the CT direction. By "well marked" I mean the restaurant is struggling with city ordinances for signs and other businesses not sharing their buildings for directional signage. The parking lot is quite small and hard to maneuver in. We ended up parking on the main street and walking down. This was not unenjoyable at all and would have been even more pleasant had it not been sprinkling. The downward street to their building is not well lit, again, not belonging to them, Chillingham's is hard pressed to fix this. The entrance to the building was clean, easy to enter, and well kept. The online reservations made it very clear that there was an upper seating area where steps would be essential or a downstairs area. This is an excellent way to prepare diners and allow them to customize their experience at Chillingham's. While the stairway was open and spacious, there was a significant amount of grease on the stairs. This not only is a significant fall risk for diners but must impact the Chillingham's staff as well. Understand that the upstairs area is beautiful and spacious and has a wonderful at home feeling. However, with restrooms located downstairs and staff using the stairs for food transportation, greasy stairs are just not safe. During the visit, we opted to sit upstairs. The music level and noise levels were excellent for an enjoyable dining experience. There is plenty of room between and around tables ensuring a private, comfortable meal with plenty of room for staff and patrons to maneuver without causing any interruption to meals. Lighting is on point throughout the restaurant. Intimate and cozy while being bright enough to see clearly. The meal was amazing. I have not had a steak cooked to that perfection since my father passed away many years ago. The sauce on the steak was pure perfection. My husband enjoyed the prime rib and has nothing but excellence to say. Without using the word excellent 17 times in a row, I'm not sure how well to express the quality of the food served. Taste was divine and there was no question as to if the food was locally sourced. You can taste the freshness. Our waiter did a fantastic job ensuring we had a wonderful meal. He was very familiar with the menu; in fact he described the special so well I was ready to skip the appetizer and have the main course immediately. His demeanor was positive and proactive; he knew when to make small talk and when to make the exit. He repeated the order back for confirmation and upsold both the special and dessert, making his job done perfectly. We didn't feel rushed or ignored at any point of the visit. The menu was easy to read, understand, and portion sizes and prices were clearly displayed. Allergen information was clear on the menu as well. Overall, our visit to Chilllingham's was very enjoyable and we can't wait to visit again. I give 9 of 10 stars, only loosing the last star for the difficulty in locating the restaurant.

The taste was too light and it wahard to pick up the Buffalo or blue cheese taste. I'll try another wing option next time. The salads were fresh, plentiful with delicious dressings. I felt the baked potato was lacking. I got it loaded but it wasn't much different than what I could make at home with a russet potato from stop and shop. I did like the bacon chunks but I would stop short of calling it loaded. In the end it was the steak I went there for and I was not disappointed. The steak and the crafted cocktails with a professional bartender made the evening a success and I will be back.

There is also a very bountiful selection of desserts. Today I went with the maple bacon slices and garlic knots as appetizers and both were delicious. For my mains I picked the baked stuffed shrimp and the prime rib. The prime rib was excellent so I actually went back for seconds. I had a baked potato plus a small salad for sides. The maple bacon was very good and since it is kind of hard to find in restaurants I went ahead and got a couple of more slices of it to top off my dinner. Their dessert bar has so many different offerings that it wasn't easy to decide on what I wanted but I ended up picking a slice of carrot cake along with a brownie plus a dollop of whipped cream to add to the brownie. One of the things I like about their dessert bar is that the servers there give you the option of only getting a half slice of their cakes which is great because that way you're saving room to try even more of their options instead of getting too full from just one thing. It's really the best way to go and you will get to try more of their delicious desserts that way. They have plenty of options here for food and no one ever leaves hungry. We arrived almost an hour earlier than our scheduled reservation but they were nice enough to let us sit down and start dining right away. And we were all hungry when we got there so it was nice that they let us dig in early. We had Josh as a server and he was a pleasure to deal with. He is very attentive and helpful. He even gave my mother some good tips on cracking the lobsters and getting the meat out more easily which was very much appreciated. He was great as far as clearing plates, refilling beverages and making sure we were satisfied with our meals. A very good worker and a skilled waitperson. I stopped into the gift shop after the meal and they had a nice beer glass with their Nordic logo on it as a gift to me for dining with them during my birthday week. The outdoor grounds were nice to hang out and relax for a while before the drive back to Boston. They have benches and hammocks set up plus it was great to see the live animals such as horses and alpacas that they have on the property. They also had a music band playing outside for entertainment. Superb food and a great dining experience. I am already looking forward to our next visit!

We drove up to the building and there really is nothing special about it, very few windows and some over grown trees in the parking lot. I didn't have high hopes. When entering into the restaurant the appearance of the bar and dining area was actually decent. Wood floors, wooden tables and a nice atmosphere at the bar. There was a bit of a cleaning supply/bar smell when you first walk in. Again I wasn't expecting much. The kids ordered a small Caesar salad and pasta with butter as their main dish. My husband and I both ordered the marinated grilled chicken with vegetables and potato. A fresh hot loaf of bread with butter was placed on the table right away. It was definitely out of the oven hot and delicious. The kids devoured most of it and we ordered a second one. The waitress, Grace was very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed for the table. I have to say the service was excellent as expressed on other reviews. Definitely a plus with kids! Our kids devoured the Caesar salad. It had fresh lettuce, shredded cheese, croutons and well mixed in dressing. They loved it! When our main dishes arrived, it looked promising, two pieces of nicely grilled chicken on the dish. When I tasted it, I was impressed! It was delicious! Perfectly grilled, not rubbery, and very tasty. The meal came with a side sauce of our liking. I chose the lemon butter on recommendation of the waitress. Perfectly paired! The kids pasta and butter was buccatini and was nice and hot, with a side of potato chip fries. Very good and very unique. They ate it all! Overall, ChopHouse Grille exceeded my expectations. While it isn't on the same level as a special occasion restaurant like the Coast Guard House, it offers solid food, excellent service, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. We never felt out of place dining with our kids, and the staff made the experience easy and enjoyable. I would definitely return to try one of their steaks next time. But otherwise the volume of the restaurant isn't that bad at all. We were greeted very warmly and sat promptly. The first table they sat us at was directly next to the kitchen entry/exit, I asked to be sat somewhere less chaotic, and was warmly told we could and we were moved. The table we were brought to the seats were dirty, so I asked for them to be cleaned, she half cleaned them. Very attentive, funny and a great server- for sure. They probably earned this review more stars honestly. We ordered the big boy steak, the shrimp and lobster chowder, 2 lobster tails with asparagus and loaded baked potato and we had bread for the table. The food was so delightful. From the tasty chowder to the entree, even the bread was sweet and so good. The food was amazingly delicious- I was shocked. And the price points are actually pretty good. We were shocked to see all of that and we had 2 drinks as well ( Texas margarita and Jack and coke) total without tip all under 100.00 that's amazing for 2 people. The food is so good. Service was attentive, the restaurant is super spacious, and the food was delicious. We started with a couple cocktails which were decent but I would suggest a bottle of wine instead to better suit their menu. The Crispy Calamari was so satisfying. It was crispy, not chewy at all, and the peppers and lemon added a bright zestiness to each bite. The Lobster Bisque was also the best I've ever had. It was soothing, buttery, and loaded with lobster! Since we were sharing, they pre-split the portion for us which was a thoughtful touch. We got the Bone In Delmonica 18oz which comes with one accompanying sauce. We got the truffle butter and I wish they'd give at least 2 because the horseradish crema and chimichurri also caught my eye. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium. It was charred on the outside, juicy on the inside, and went well with the sides. Speaking of sides, the Truffle Mac & Cheese is a huge portion for ~$16! Not to mention, it's so creamy, cheesy, and earthy from the truffle. I loved it! The 22B Mashed Potatoes were delicately smooth and paired well with the steak. We ended with the Old Fashioned Carrot Cake which was moist, had good texture, and a delicious cream cheese frosting. I appreciate the fact that it was complimentary; getting a free birthday dessert has become a lost art but not at 22 Bowen's! Highly recommend making a reservation for a special occasion or just a memorable dinner!
