"Fresh" cod....not! Even though the whole dish was perfectly cooked and presented.

5 star for awesome service from Sarah. Also, for our Grilled clams which were incredible. We were relieved to see the clams big and juicy with no sand and great flavor which is opposite what we got the last couple times last summer when we took a break from Chardonnay's. My "fresh"cod at first was out of this world but I have to say there was an ammonia smell that I noticed half way through that ended my appetite. 1 star for fish freshness.

The food at Chardonnay's is always amazing. I ordered the orange ginger salmon, which was perfectly cooked. My son ordered the braised short ribs, which were so tender and flavorful. We went in December and the ambiance was really cozy and is decorated beautifully for Christmas. The reason for marking them down to four stars is that they now charge a fee when you pay with a credit card. I've never heard of this at a restaurant and was quite surprised when the amount I was charged was higher than the bill.

Went by Chardonnays for an anniversary dinner. We had reservations so we were seated right away without any wait. Our Server was very attentive and friendly. Our meals came out in a timely manner, nicely spaced out. All of the food was cooked perfect. Although they were fairly busy it wasn't noisy and the temp wasn't too cold. Overall an enjoyable night out.

Every time I come here everything has been on point! There is plenty of parking, the staff and servers are attentive and try to accommodate your request. Several times I have altered a pasta dish and it has been no problem. The menu has many options for food and drinks. There are only two bathrooms, no multiple stalls, so a line can form. It's a family restaurant feel with a stocked bar, large servings and reasonably priced.

Chicken francaise I get this every time and it never disappoints. Every birthday or special event I crave this meal. The staff is always on point and never a long wait. Desert is outstanding.

Service was great! Ambiance was lovely. Food was delicious! We had the grilled clams appetizer, braised short rib and jambalaya pasta. All were delicious! Crème brûlée to finish off the meal with an espresso.

Ate here for my birthday 4 days ago (11/4/23) and I definitely won't be a return customer. At first everything seemed great, I liked where I was seated and the hostess was very nice but it all went down hill from there. My server was so rude to me the entire night for no reason. Never wished me a happy birthday which isn't necessary but it's a nice gesture at least. Anything I asked he responded with the worst attitude. He even went as far as telling me they couldn't give me a different sauce one that I am allergic to that came with my dish that it would "piss off the cook" if he asked for a substitute. Not my fault I can't consume what my dish came with. My drink came out about 15 minutes after the rest of my party's drinks, the bread was hard as a rock. The continued rude service at one point had me so upset I wanted to leave. This guy should not be serving the public he pretty much ruined my birthday dinner. I've given so much business to Meritage I did not expect this from one of their restaurants. I'm done supporting this company.

    Pomegranate margarita and original margarita!

Parking is tough but you should be able to find street parking without a long walk. I knew the restaurant was small and was worried we'd have trouble finding a seat because of that. However, we were the only customers in there for a solid 10 minutes when we first arrived. The restaurant itself was adorable! Small but nicely decorated and furnished. I appreciated the stars on the ceiling. The staff were friendly and gave us as much time as we needed with the menu before we ordered at the counter. I had the chicken empanadas and the shrimp poboy. The food came out quickly and was piping hot and fresh. The empanadas were excellent. Great flavor and tasted high quality. I found them to be a little oily but that wasn't anything a napkin couldn't fix. The shrimp was cooked well and I liked the sauce it came with. Their bread was also super soft and tasted freshly baked. Definitely something I'd consider ordering again! Overall, I'd definitely come back to the White Owl and would love to check out more things on the menu.

When we walked in, it was empty - saw that we had to order at the counter, find a seat and the food would be brought out. I had seen numerous reviews praising the corn ribs, so we ordered that along with the chicken empanadas, chicken sando and the beef bulgogi cheesesteak. The corn was good but not as good as I was hoping they would be. The mister enjoyed the beef bulgogi sammy - the chicken was cooked nicely but was missing that oomph. My favorite thing were the empanadas. There is a self service water station. Service was quick and friendly, place was airy and welcoming. We won't rush back but if in the area would like to try other options.

I was thrilled to stop by and had a wonderful experience at the bar. I have a small appetite so I chose to have the side order of seafood fried rice and it did not disappoint. So good... as I said, that I had to order another "side" to take home! I did spoil myself with some sticky toffee pudding of which I brought home leftovers as well. Be warned, it's on the more expensive side for dining and may be a coin toss for "is it worth it" for those that enjoy a night out but also looking for value. Food was a mixed bag for us.... Starting with the smashburger was genuinely disappointing as the burger itself was dry and advertised as a "French onion" smashburger that failed to deliver any of the rich, savory flavor we expected with a name like "French onion smashburger". The hot honey Mac and cheese was very good and flavorful... The hot being more of a vinegary heat than I expected but the cream sauce was rich. Speaking of value earlier.... Smashburger was $20 and the Mac and cheese was $28. Entrees were $10-15 more it seemed but previous reviews all spoke highly of the entrees and would want to try them if we visit again. The overall service experience was disappointing for us. Not for the demeanor of the staff but everything else... We had a decent size group of 8 (5 adults and 3 kids) and was fortunate to have a dining room to help the kids burn some energy while not bothering the other diners. However, from ordering to entrees to arrive was 45 very hungry minutes. It also took 20+ mins just to get drinks. Once the food arrived, they also were short two of the kids meals which was thankfully corrected quick. We then were somewhat "gently" being asked to wrap things up by 3 staff members in 10 mins making the rounds to clear plates and any to go containers. We all understand the business in the food industry and turning tables, and trust me, after an hour from arriving to food on the table we wanted to get home for bed time. However, really sours the experience and would not advocate going here with large groups.... Between the kitchen and staff I can't say you'd have a guaranteed good time.

The restaurant is very clean. I've met the owner twice as he tries to get around the diningroom before you leave to make sure your experience was a good one & personally thank you. I feel that in itself makes a big difference in quality control & guaranteeing he is hearing his customers & perhaps can make changes before it becomes a business-changing problem. (Sometimes a few bad reviews spread like wildfire & changing rumors back to the truth can hurt the bottom line). There is a delightful waitress you'll be glad to have serve you if you are lucky enough to be seated at her table. "Grandma (name)?" is a very happy way to start your day. She knows the menu well & can make you smile on your worse days. The menu has plenty to choose from & the portions sizes..epic! Eggs Benedict is 3 egg size. Pancakes & French toast orders are enough for today & tomorrow without adding eggs or meat. But their prices are similar to other places lessor size plates. There is an ramp at the entrance for those with mobility issues. There are a couple of handicap spots too. I do not know if the restrooms are wheelchair friendly as I didn't check it out yet.
