They know how to cook catfish. I ordered the deep fried catfish strips meal. It tasted very delicious. They could improve by making a custom sauce similar to TRH the normal tartar sauce was ok, but their catfish is so good that it deserves a better sauce to go with it. read more

While in Wichita due to work, my co workers and I decided to come here due to being told this is one of the best seafood spots in town. I gave it two stars due to non of the seafood I had was fresh. None of my food had any flavor, the red snapper was awful. I'm pretty sure it was previously frozen, it was cold in the middle and it was very firm and rubbery. The crab cake tasted like corn meal, the fried scallops were also previously frozen with a breaded batter. The fried clams and hushpuppies were a 10/10. Read about this restaurant on a blog recently & found that this is ran by the son of the owner of the former Wichita Fish Co. We really loved the old place so we stopped by for supper. They located in the original Tacos TJ664 building. Not much seating so carry out was the option for us. They were BUSY & that's a great sign for the success of this restaurant. We placed our order & waited in the car. There were a few people ahead of us but things moved quickly. The food was hot & fresh. We ordered the catfish snack box, fried clam strips & popcorn shrimp. The catfish fillets were huge, seasoned well & coated in corn meal. The clam strips were good too & the cocktail sauce was a good addition. I'm told that the popcorn shrimp was tasty & it was a LOT of shrimp. All in all, this is still my favorite catfish in town. We'll definitely be back again & hope you stop by to see how delicious everything is. read more

Tried this resturant for the first time this weekend. Prices and portions were good. HOWEVER--I got the catfish filet and the coating was good but the fish itself was wet and clear. The fish was definitly under cooked. I tossed it. My girlfiend got coconut shrimp. They were on the small side but were cooked just about right and tasted good. Probably wont go back. read more

We had a very good meal. We had the catfish strip and shrimp combo with coleslaw and fries with hush puppies. Friends had coconut shrimp and another had fried shrimp. I would have preferred the fried shrimp instead of the popcorn shrimp but it was still yummy. The third person had fried pollock. We did have to wait a while for our dinner but it did come out hot. Was happy to find this restaurant run by the family that originally ran Hayesville Fish and Wichita fish. Same menu of fried catfish and fries or veggies. Inside dining space is limited with some outside seating as well. They were doing a lot of carry out business while we were there. Size of fillets was good and filling. read more

Location is at the old Sonic building on north West Street. Great seafood! Salmon was perfectly cooked as was the catfish. Very tasty although I had to salt everything just a bit. I ordered on the phone and picked up 25 minutes later. It was already getting busy at 3:50 pm, not much seating room which is why I ordered it for carryout. Paid $16 for the salmon dinner and $6 for a catfish fillet and it was plenty to eat. Will definitely be returning. read more

If Wichita Fish or Haysville Fish were your go-to for fish in Wichita, Blalock's Seafood Restaurant (run by Larry & Judy's son) is the place to go. Same menu, same white board specials (IYKYK), great fish (grilled Cajun Tilapia is my go-to, their aioli is AMAZING!!)), white rice with steamed carrots, onions & broccoli, 3 hush puppies and THE best Cole Slaw. A friend today had fried pollock (lightly breaded & delish!) that came with fries, cole slaw & 3 puppies. There is a small-ish eat-in area, it's not a fancy place and the prices reflect that. Any place else in town would cost $45-$65 a comparable meal. My Cajun Tilapia was about $14 with all the fixin's. Catfish, tilapia, oysters, scallops, gator, calamari rings, frog legs, salmon, Mahi Mahi, crab cakes. You name it, they've probably got it. If you like fish (grilled or fried) I could not recommend Blalock's Seafood more. read more

An actual fish and chips restaurant that is worth going to! We enjoyed the catfish & shrimp.

My dad wanted seafood for his birthday and us not being from the area, found this place on Yelp and couldn't have been happier. Nice large menu to choose from full of fresh options. My dad had the shrimp scampi and I just had the fish and chips. Food came out quick and there was a lot. Good fresh flavor and cooked to perfection. Price for three was under $40 with drinks. The BEST fish and chips in the state! The service was a bit slow for there only being two customers in the restaurant (us!) but the quantity and quality if the food made up for the wait. It's not a fancy place ambiance-wise so go for the food, not the experience. read more
