Came here with a big group and everything was fantastic. The service was prompt, helpful and everything flowed nicely. The food was full of flavor. We had a ton of appetizers. We tried the queso, guacamole, and Mexican pizzas (short rib and margarita) everything was tasty. I ordered a combo which consisted of the short rib enchilada, carnitas taco and the fish taco. The fish taco was devine, the enchilada made me want to lick the plate and the carnitas was very tender. The rice that comes with the meals is a hidden gem. Everyone as the table made comments on how tasty the rice was. For desert, the server recommended pineapple empanadas and I was skeptical. However, they were great. I would come here again, I may stop by before I leave tomorrow.
There was a bit of a wait on a Thursday night, about 25 minutes and they text you when your table is ready. Most of the food was pretty good and I got the cheese crisps just out of curiosity but I would never recommend that dish to anyone. It's basically a disappointing and really sad tortilla with cheese on top. It would probably be great for kids though and people who don't need seasoning. It was a bit hard to get the server's attention but overall it was an ok dining experience.
I've been meaning to check this eatery out and finally did so a couple of years ago. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is inviting and staff are friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were given complimentary chips and salsa and then ordered some drinks that came with watermelon garnish. We shared the spicy mango ceviche and a cheese crisp for our appetizers. Both were delicious! The cheese crisp was very interesting! We opted for the spicy tiger shrimp fajitas for our entree. It's served with blistered peppers, charred onions, jack cheese, guacamole, salsa fresca, sour cream, choice of beans and tortillas. It was very tasty! We ended up trying frozen margarita and an agua fresca as well. The frozen margarita is so refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. For dessert, we got the tres leches cake and it was the perfect ending to our dinner.
It was fun place to try but def the margarita flight was not something to try , maybe individual drinks were good but we didn't try them the food was alright . Nothing out of the ordinary. Def a older couples vibes restaurant hey at least our server was nice and always checked up on us or certain person ahha
Love this restaurant! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have lots of seating area inside & outdoors but it's busy with locals & tourists.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We sat at the bar and ordered or else the wait was over an hour for a table. We enjoyed the ceviche and the carne asada quesadilla. They give chips & salsa and yes they are yummy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of fun people to see and the bar has TVs with sports playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It gets very loud inside and it's very kid friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Bartenders are spot on and very friendly. It's a great place to come grab a bite to eat & drink.
We spotted this cantina and restaurant while visiting the AR Workshop in Coronado. We decided to try them out while waiting for the rest of our party members for our appointment at AR Studio. I walked up to the take out window and ordered. A young gentleman helped me. He said that my food would be out in 12-15 minutes. Well, I found a table on the side if the catina and set my things down. I noticed that the staff had also used these tables to meet with the managers or employees, and to eat their lunch break meals. AT NO TIME DID ANYONE ON THE STAFF TELL ME THAT I SHOULD BE SITTING IN THE AREA TO BE SERVED ON THE CATINA PATIO. My food took 22 minutes and I had to walk back up to the window to retrieve it...WTH I tipped 15% at a walk up window and you all can't walk it to my sidewalk table 10 feet away? The rest of our party started to arrive so they decided to also order food. Luckily, their food was ready in 10 minutes. The staff delivered their orders to our table, which made more sense. Overall, it was OK. My wet carne asada burrito no sour cream, diet pepsi, and chips with salsa was tasty but definitely not worth the $30 pricetag. I will not visit again. The customer service was spotty and the whole dining at the sidewalk tables for staff situation was not cool.
While visiting Coronado, I stopped for dinner and happened to arrive during the restaurant's happy hour: Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe of the restaurant was pretty dope. They have an outdoor seating area blended with indoor seating. The decor was stunning. I loved the wallpaper and light fixtures. The tunes were bumpin'. The restaurant wasn't surprisingly too busy and was pretty family-friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was so excited to take a bite into my first CA tacos! As I settled in and opened the menu, full transparency: I was shocked to see the "happy hour specials: $7 tacos"... regularly $14!? Thinking these HAD to be next-level incredible, I stopped judging and ordered two "Birria" tacos, two "traditional Carnitas" tacos, and a "crispy shell Ground Beef" taco. We paired our tacos with their "Classic" house Margarita. Chips and salsa were brought to the table with our drinks, and we enjoyed those for a bit before the food came out. I wish I were writing this to report that I had the best tacos of my life, but sadly, that's not the case. The Birria taco had an excessive amount of untrimmed fat in the meat, which made each bite unpleasant and forced me to spit out pieces I couldn't chew. This made the overall texture unappealing and the experience disappointing. Not my preferred way to enjoy my tacos. I don't believe this was an issue of happy hour pricing, but rather poor food preparation. I was only able to finish one taco and took the other to-go. As for the traditional carnitas taco, it was okay but lacked anything that set it apart. I say this with kindness, but if you've had a TB crunchy taco supreme, you've tried this restaurant's crispy shell ground beef taco. The classic margaritas were strong and well made. We thoroughly enjoyed them! If you asked me, would I go back for seconds? I'd likely not reorder the tacos. For the price, I expected higher-quality preparation and presentation; instead, it fell short. Personally, I'm glad I visited during Happy Hour. I'd file this one under cool place for drinks and a light bite, if you must.
The restaurant is cute and well decorated, I would recommend getting a reservation for faster seating. The staff were very nice and the food came out quickly. I ordered the enchiladas and found them to be bland, however the rest of my group ordered tacos and really enjoyed them, so I think I just ordered wrong.
We took the Old Town Trolley tour and decided to stop in Coronado to have some lunch and check out the Hotel Del Coronado. On the way to the hotel from the trolley stop, we decided to try Blanco Cocina + Cantina. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We arrived around 11:00 on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded, but it got pretty crowded by the time we left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything we had tasted great and would love to go back again. It was nice that we could get the street corn already off the cobb since it made it easier for my daughter. The queso also didn't come with chips, but our server gave us more chips from the chips and salsa that comes with the meal.
I can't believe I haven't noticed this spot in Coronado before! There's a quaint and cute dog-friendly patio outside which was just what we were looking for on a beautiful early Saturday afternoon. We were seated within just a few minutes. I must say, everything from the food to the drinks were fabulous! We got their margarita tree, which was well-priced for four drinks total, and each one was delicious. The mandarin strawberry marg was definitely the favorite between the both of us. You could taste the fresh fruit and it was a perfect amount of sweetness. Really enjoyed the salsa & asked if they had a spicier one. To my delight--they did and it had a perfect punch! The mahi taco and carne asada taco were both 9/10 for me as well, with great flavor and soft, luxurious housemade tortillas. Could use just a bit more acidity, even a little lime on the side would suffice. The rice was ok, the beans were better!! Overall, that spicy salsa really enhanced everything for me :) Excited to come back and try more items. Service was also quick and lovely. Definitely a new go-to in Coronado.
If you come here you must get the shrimp tacos. The handmade tortillas with the perfectly cooked shrimp and the salsa are chefs kiss! We started dinner with the queso fundido and the most refreshing Paloma mocktail. Again, the shrimp tacos were amazing! Paired with charro beans (good) and white rice. Now I'm not sure what is in the rice but I was not a fan. Very buttery.
Great Mexican restaurant walking distance from Hotel Del. Sat at a table as I was with a group but next time, would love to check out their spacious bar! Tried the skinny margarita, queso dip, ceviche, and short rib bowl. Everything was fresh and tasty! Didn't try the tortilla soup or fish taco but took pics. Good food and service with cool vibes. Will definitely visit again to try their other menu items and cocktails.

Took a day trip to Coronado and found this amazing venue while walking the area. I didn't make note of the parking as I was on foot, it I did notice various parking lots around the area along with some neighborhood street parking. We were seated right away and our server shared all the key entrees and drink options. The chips and salsa were addicting and I had to stop myself to keep room for my lunch. Very good tacos and if you're hungry for tacos this is the place to indulge. It so happens to be Taco Tuesday! Nice atmosphere with a copious bar at the center of the restaurant. My husband and I stopped in for happy hour, and it was fantastic. The frozen drinks were amazing, I had the frozen Paloma and he had the frozen margarita, and both were absolutely delicious. But the real standout? The carnitas on the happy hour menu. Truly something special and hands-down the best I've ever had. I'm already counting down the days until we can go back. The service was wonderful as well. I wish I remembered our waitress's name because she was an absolute delight and she even looked just like Lana Del Rey! Overall, a great experience all around. We tried the $16 lunch special at Blanco expecting a quick, decent meal from an "upscale" San Diego Mexican spot... but it was honestly kind of hilarious how off it was. Oh and yes we added the marg to make it 25$. We waited well over 25 minutes for this plate, which is long enough that it literally turned into happy hour while we were sitting there. The funny part?! Our waiter originally told us they don't have happy hour on Fridays. Then once 3pm hit (and our food still hadn't arrived), suddenly they did. The plate itself wasn't anything special and definitely didn't match the "upscale" vibe they advertise. Like hmm rice and beans? The only highlight was the drinks, which were actually not bad. So we'll give them 2 stars for that. At this point we can't even be mad... we're mostly just laughing about the whole experience. If you need proof, check the photo and laugh with us. This place was nice. Went for dinner on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was loud but not overly crowded. There was plenty of space at the bar, so I sat there. I had the spicy skinny margarita and that was delicious. I don't like my drinks too sugary and this was perfect. I also ordered the chicken tortilla soup (so good!) and the shrimp tacos on fresh corn tortillas. Everything was delicious. The bartender was very nice and friendly. This is the second time I've been to Blanco in Coronado and both times they delivered! Fun, upbeat atmosphere with great food and drinks to match. Our server was constantly touching base with the table to ensure we were happy with our food, our drinks were full, and any requests the table had were met. Highly recommend! We are staying at The Del for the weekend and wanted some good Mexican food in a walkable distance. Found this place on yelp and it did not disappoint. We had drinks and shared a couple plates. The Spicy Skinny Margarita was perfection. It has a Chile salt rim and Serrano peppers. Perfect amount of spice. We shared the mahi taco and the Chile verde enchiladas. The flavors were excellent and everything came out nice and hot. Katarina is a fantastic server. She checked on our table at all the right times and was very pleasant. My wife and me stopped here for a Taco Tuesday lunch. We ordered the Birria taco, crispy sweet potato taco, a chicken pastor taco and a traditonal carnitas taco. While all of the tacos were outstanding --- fresh ingredients, great combination of flavors such as carmelized pineapples and avocados, fearless use of spices, good size tacos --- the Birria taco with shredded beef, carmelized onions and peppers, crispy chihuahua with a small bowl of consomme to dip the taco into was amazing. And indulgent! It's worth making a separate trip here for that taco alone. And it's practically a meal in itself. Our waitress was friendly and good with suggestions. The restaurant itself is stylish with comfortable tables and chairs and a chilled, "no rush" vibe. The only "caution" is for Taco Tuesday tacos, the prices were on the high side: $7 for all the tacos except for the Birria taco, which was $8. But they were high quality. read more

Very good! Ignore anyone moaning. They're just unhappy in life. You need to bear in mind you are in a high quality area opposite an expensive hotel. If you want taco bell prices and sizes go to taco bell. However, if you want fresh food, with decent portions that arent excessive, fresh drinks that arent too heavy on alcohol and service which is comfortable, relaxed and efficient, this is the place for you. I had the short rib tacos and they were excellent as was the skinny margaritas. Chips and salsa comes quickly. No additional charge. Salsa is fresh. Chips i think are made that day. Essentially you get what you pay for. read more

He and the entire kitchen went out of their way to maximize our experience while paying close attention to my black and white pepper allergy. I ordered the chicken fajitas. Coronado Island - go across a beautiful bridge in San Diego and find this charming island with cuteness overload. I did not have an issue finding parking on the street on a Sunday afternoon. Dinner at Blanco Cocina was fabulous. Nikki was an amazing server. It's so pretty inside. A mix of Mexico and Southern California vibe. I had one short rib taco and one grilled shrimp taco with rice and black beans and everything was delicious. The cucumber margarita was very fresh and delightful, especially if you're not a fan of super sweet drinks. I definitely recommend a visit here if you're in Coronado or need a reason to visit. I did not find it to be loud at the time when I went. There were a lot of windows and doors open. I really enjoyed the music that they were playing at the time. It was just the right lounge type of music that serves the venue well. read more
