I visited here twice during my New York trip after hearing a lot of hype about Blank Street and was disappointed both times. I got the cherry glaze matcha and the iced blondie matcha. Cherry glaze matcha - couldn't taste any of the matcha and it was a very pale green. I give this a 2/10, would not get again, espeically since there are better matchas in the city for $8. Iced blondie matcha - this one was better. Still couldn't taste much matcha but the flavor was less overpowering, allowing some of the matcha taste to come through. Blank street coffee is absolutely worth the hype and before I tried it, I was worried it wouldn't be as good as everyone says. But I have to agree with why it's so popular. I tried their strawberries and cream latte as well as the blueberry matcha latte and both of them were so refreshing and tasty, I couldn't choose which one was better. I would honestly love to try every drink on the menu eventually so I definitely will be back. However, if I'm being honest this particular location on 7th ave is a bit chaotic as there's hardly any room inside and waiting for your coffee, you will get squished into a corner, especially during rush times. VERY BAD SERVICE, RUDE EMPLOYEE UNPROFESSIONAL Hello, I would like to report an incident that happened today at the Blank Street location on 7th Ave & 53rd Street on Saturday, May 9, 2026 around 2:05 PM. I came to pick up my coffee, which had already been sitting there for around 15 minutes. Before leaving, I wanted to mix the drink a little, and some coffee accidentally spilled onto the counter. I immediately took napkins and started cleaning it myself out of respect for the space and the staff. At that moment, one of the employees spoke to me in a very rude and aggressive way, saying things like "Why would you do that?" and "You should go outside if you want to do that." His tone was completely inappropriate and disrespectful, especially in front of other customers. What shocked me the most was not the small accident itself, but the way the situation was handled. In customer service, accidents happen all the time. I personally work as a restaurant manager, and if a customer spills something, we would never react by blaming or embarrassing them. We would simply say "Don't worry, we'll take care of it," especially when the customer is already trying to clean the mess themselves. I also found it very unprofessional that other staff members were laughing during the incident instead of helping calm the situation or having a manager step in to address the employee's behavior. No one told him that speaking to a customer in that manner was unacceptable. The issue is not about spilled coffee,it is about basic professionalism, respect, and customer service. Speaking aggressively to a customer in front of other guests creates an uncomfortable and humiliating experience and reflects poorly on the brand. What affected me the most is that I genuinely did not feel good after this incident. I felt uncomfortable and embarrassed by the way I was spoken to in front of other customers. No customer should leave a coffee shop feeling disrespected over such a minor situation, especially when they were already trying to clean the spill themselves. I have always enjoyed coming to Blank Street, which is why this experience was very disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that no other customer is treated this way in the future. I ordered the pistachio latte here a couple times since this coffee shop was super close to the hotel while I was in NYC on vacation. I noticed that this was a chain in the east coast area so I wanted to see how it compares to basic nationwide coffee shops like Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. The drink tasted good both times I ordered it - strong and not overly sweet. The items are decently priced too, not too high like some other specialty coffee shops. Worst blank street I've been to if not the worst coffee shop. Ordered pick up, a small pistachio latte and a large matcha oat latte. When I arrived, the matcha latte thru gave was a small one and the matcha is not even blended, just clumps of soggy green powder. I complained and the barista, an Asian lady, was very dismissive and rude, making excuse like "it's just me working here",(ok I've been to blank street with only one barista working and she made me some splendid drinks), but offered to make a new one for me "or you can just get a refund." Came here because I liked the aesthetic and menu items. I had had their strawberries and cream latte before at a different location which I liked. I decided to try their pistachio latte this time and got a large because I had a lot of work to get through.
