A stop into Gregorys Coffee is always a pleasant experience. Located throughout NYC, if you look for this chain, you'll never be disappointed. During this visit, I ordered their always delicious Coconut Almond Bite (coconut, almond butter, chopped almonds, dates, and cocoa powder). This is always my go-to snack and that little ball packs a punch, with satisfying an appetite or tying you over. My drink was the Cappuccino. A pleasant cup of happiness with a smooth foam topping. I wish I could give this higher praise. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. The coffee? Great! The espresso was not bitter and had a great flavor. The oat milk? It was oat milk, no complaints there. The vanilla flavor? Non-existent. I would think this was simply a mistake, that it had been forgotten, but I overheard another customer say that they could not taste it in theirs either, even after requesting more to be added. I really enjoy the vanilla flavor so this was hard for me to get over. But what truly makes this a 2-star experience was the customer service. The man taking my order was great- no complaints. He took the order, answered my questions, everything I would expect with no extra frills. He then wrote my order and name on the side of the cup, which prompted me to listen for my name to be called. However, that never happened. Instead, a couple of minutes later I heard my order shouted across the restaurant, after looking around and defending that no one else was walking to the counter, I got up to check for my name. The cup was blank. Not wanting to be a coffee stealer and cause future trouble for the workers, I asked someone behind the counter "is this for Lindsey?" the worker responded in an annoyed tone with "well did you order .... then it is for you." Despite nothing being written on the cup and no name in sight. While I understand she may not have meant anything by this, it really turned me off from the experience. As someone who really thinks through everything before asking questions of workers who probably get a lot of crap from customers, it was hard to get a response like that. I look forward to trying other local shops, but won't be returning here. read more

The coffee is excellent. We grabbed some for the first time yesterday before the theater (Gypsy!) and were so pleased with the product that we rushed back this morning on the way to the train. My go to is a breve latte and my sweetie's is an oat milk latte. We are unrepentant coffee snobs so the coffee is the thing. Gregorys grinds a mellow bean with kick. Hurray! Great coffee! Total McPastries. Someone said something about getting work done here. They must be about 2 feet tall because the 18 inch table is not going to allow me much room to even put my iPad down and a cup of coffee. Let alone both for two of us. it's very clear that the goal here is turnover of tables with no turnovers worth eating. It's a grab and go at best. Service is def Starbucks. That's not a compliment. Gregory's Coffee (58 West 44th Street) gives me consistent service every time and every location. This location is so convenient to many of my favorite businesses. It's especially convenient to meet friends and relatives from out of town. Gregory's offers gluten free and vegan pastries. I love the jalapeño scone with my coffee. To me it's the vibe of cheers in most of their neighborhood locations. It's clean and comfortable. I don't have a Gregory's location close to my home. If I want a coffee and light meal when I'm in this neighborhood this location is great. read more

This is a bit of a stale review but I wanted to wait to write it as I was a little bitter about my experience and I don't like giving less than 3 star reviews. I came in early (twice) in the morning when there was no line. Many people followed after me and on both occasions got their food before me... Food: 10 minute wait on the first visit. Second visit, the food never made it to the area to be prepped. I had to remind the server, and when it finally came, the it was half done--cold in the center and semi-warm on the outside. The Skinny sounded delicious; egg whites scrambled with turkey bacon and white cheddar on Ezekiel muffin bread. Maybe if it was hot the whole way through it would have tasted better: 3/10. Coffee: The Fall Oat Boy coffee is espresso infused with cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup and hazelnut with oat milk: 9/10. The iced caramel macchiato was... meh. Drinkable, but left more to be desired: 5/10. Overall, a 2.5/5 rounded down. Sorry, Gregory, this place did not live up to the hype. read more

A coffee chain offering delicious caffeinated bean water that's actually good? You won't find that where I'm from! Fortunately for those roaming Manhattan, Gregory's is a spot that delivers great coffee and then some. The quality of the coffee was actually really good when considering how much the drinks cost. I went for a cold brew and a vanilla latte, both of which were just sublime. Vanilla latte was definitely on the sweeter side but you could still taste the coffee which is more than I can say for some other coffee spots. If I lived around here (hopefully someday), their cold brew would be my go-to for sure! It's a great place to get some work done, and you literally have a view into the productivity-laden concrete jungle that is Manhattan, so unless you're easily distracted by that sort of thing, you're probably going to get. stuff. done. Staff are wonderful and the atmosphere is very calm; I could see myself coming here every day to wind down. If you're in Manhattan and haven't been here yet, do yourself a favor and just go. We waited for our coffee and had to remind them a few times then they told us we didn't pay but after he checked the receipt he realized he messed up and finally got us our coffee. Based on my first, maybe only, visit to Gregory's on this trip to New York (we're here another day or so, so likely that'll change) I have to say I like this place quite a bit. It was virtually a 2 minute walk down the street from our AirBnB and I needed a fix. The shop is average-sized for a coffee spot with plenty of space if you want to sit for a bit and do some work or relax. I could see myself posting up with a book or laptop for a time. The menu is about what you'd expect, selection-wise, but really nicely varied and reasonably priced. I chose my usual Americano and it turned out absolutely perfectly. I would definitely make this a regular stop if I were here longer. I do hope to return again as our place was in an ideal location. The shop was a little more than half full, staff was busy and very efficient. Friendly but no-nonsense, which I liked. Gregory's Coffee will definitely be on my radar the next time I stay in Manhattan. Highly recommended. read more

The coffee here is excellent! We were in town one weekend and this location was near our hotel. As it was a bit chilly that weekend, we stopped in for a cup of coffee to help warm us as we walked around Manhattan. I asked the barista for a sample of the coffee that was brewing and she was happy to let me try it. It was so delicious, I ordered a cup and also bought a bag of the beans so I could enjoy it home. Gregory's used to be my go-to café for vegan croissants. Unfortunately, they've recently become much less vegan-friendly. They no longer carry any vegan croissants and now only offer non-vegan ones. They still serve the vegan burrito and Vegan Deluxe, which are solid choices, but sometimes I just want a vegan pastry. I'm very disappointed to see fewer options for plant-based customers in an area that already isn't very vegan-friendly. read more

Great customer service and the best coffee! Came to NY for a visit. We had a Gregorys across the street from our hotel on 44th St, so we had Gregorys every morning and some afternoons. I got the iced fall out boy, which was good, but tasted like Cinnamon Toast. The scone was not all that sweet, which I was not expecting, but probably good for me. I would get it toasted.
