This location is hit or miss. Bottom line: If you are considering an alternative place for a meal, take the alternative. This offering ends up being disappointing. CONS: The service seems overwhelmed and distracted. My review is based on two visits within two months. Specialty drinks are NOT mixed well, and they are weak and disappointing. Food was served cold or barely warm. I had to ask the bartender for a catchup. The salad lettuce was brown, and that's enough about their salads if you were considering having one. Not one soul stopped to ask us how our meal was. PROS: seated quickly, pretty clean bathroom, friendly staff, fantastic location, and lots of good music and sports on giant screens. I am sorry, but this restaurant is a pass; the area has better eateries. If those other restaurants are booked, go ahead and roll the dice and visit Blast & Brew. Upon walking into this establishment, our server/manager was very nice and prompt. He asked us for drinks and we ordered. We weren't real hungry, but wanted to make sure that we had some yummy appetizers to share. I picked the Ahi Nachos and upon receiving them, wondered where the rest of my nachos were. Don't get me wrong, I ordered the Ahi because I like the fish, but I expected onions, olives, nacho things, but all I got was avocado and Ahi on some fried wonton chips... slightly disappointed. Really surprised by the reviews of this place. This was one of our better experiences while in Pismo area. Nice setting, sports bar and brewhouse similar, as you would expect. Actually served large Frozen mugs of many many different beers, something, surprisingly, that a lot of sports bars and Brew houses don't achieve. Food was really good too. We're from Hawaii and got the ahi nacho, joking about it before hand, but it was actually really good. Clean, staff was friendly and available when needed. We went to the Shell Beach Brew house the next day and were quite disappointed... In comparison. Blast will serve a full size imperial IPA, Big Sur, when the brew house limits at 10oz. WTF. We here for take out. I ordered a tri-tip dip sandwich and my wife had the Pesto Chicken pizza. First the service. The hostess was excellent. She was polite, and friendly. While we were looking at the menu, she was talking to us about the day and some of the choices she likes on the menu. It was nice Dino we have not been there before. After she took our order. She offer to get us some drinks while we waited. We went out and she brought the drinks and later brought us our food to go. My wife loved the pizza. She said it may have been one of the best she has had. My tri-tip dip. Was good. The meat was tender. The sandwich had flavor with out the dip. But you can not eat a dip sandwich without the juice. A nice place in Pismo to enjoy some comfort food. My husband and I came to Blast and Brew because it shares the same parking lot of the Seacrest Hotel we were staying at. We definantly enjoyed the food here. I ordered the comfort bowl which included mashed potatoes, corn, and fried chicken. It was so delicious. I typically don't eat food like this at home, so this was a treat. Husband ordered the fish and chips, which looked amazing. We also ordered a side of the sweet potato fries to share. The food was simple but fresh and tasty. Our server was very nice and quick to take our orders. The restaurant also had some TV's on, so we were able to enjoy the NBA finals while eating. The food was so delicious, we just had burgers but they were a cut above. Mac and cheese side was so creamy and delicious with cellentani pasta and the sauce was mild and creamy. My girl friend and I wanted to go out for some dinner so we decided to try somewhere new. The host sat us at a great table with a great view of the ocean. Our taproom fries appetizer was so yum, although they could've come with some more seasonings or sauces since they are $7. Ambiance... it was great. I don't know what it looked like before they moved in but I've been to the Pismo and Paso locations and I like this one. My daughter said the bathroom looks amazing. Food ... IT WAS GREAT! 2 Me n Ed's pizzas mushroom and olive and a ham and mushrooms. BBQ onion ring burger. Also a dinner salad and 2 margaritas. They brought me my salad which was wrong but before I could tell anyone my waitress was at the table saying I will be back with the correct salad. The margaritas were strong. Wow. Just left the restaurant. Service was good for one person at the table and also very bad. People are working and not thinking. Both people in the party ordered food at the same time. The server brought the food out for one person, soup and salad and a beer. The second person ordered a hamburger and fries. The salad and soup was followed by a sandwich. The second person sat there with no food waiting for half and hour or more watching all this food delivered to the other person. The server never came back to the table. Finally able to ask 3 different people where the hamburger was. It took 10 minutes to bring out the hamburger. This is totally unacceptable just as the first person was finishing their food. Impossible to make eye contact with any server or manager or any staff. The evening started with a request for a table with a view. The staff kept saying the table will be available shortly. We sat waiting as multiple groups of people came in and were seated. I think we waited over an hour until I asked to be seated at any available table. Wow this place is amazing ! The service was top tier! This place should have 5 stars! I highly recommend the 'Cowboy Chili Waffle Fries' they were amazing, I might go for more later. We waited about 30 minutes for a table and were served drinks almost immediately. We ordered a pizza and it was fresh, piping hot and delicious. The only downside was that they didn't seem to have any small plates. I overheard one of the wait staff telling the next table they didn't have any available. I was in town celebrating a family members graduation and our group of 10 came here for celebratory dinner. Our amazing server was Letty. She warmly greeted our entire table upon arrival. She was so incredibly sweet, patient, knowledgeable and just overall amazing with our large party. We NEVER had to ask for refills or napkins as she was just on it!! I'm not sure how but she managed to just be so attentive to all 10 of us. To the point where we all had a discussion about her amazing service. We never felt rushed or like she was doing drive by serving. Literally one of the best servers I've ever experienced. Food was good, loved the vibe of the place and its location. The real star though was Letty!! I hope management sees what a gem they have on their hands. Will definitely be singing this places praise. **If you are a minority, good luck getting the same treatment as everyone else** Arrived at 9pm and the servers pressured us to order to go. Even told us that we can order to go and we can "sit outside and eat it". 3 other parties came and they decided to offer them immediate sitting. I understand if they were closing soon but it didn't make sense when the rest of the parties after us was offered seating and not pushed to get it to go. Hopefully wasn't a racial thing since all 4 of us were Asian but it felt like it . This was my second time returning as we frequent SeaCrest hotel but will not be returning next time. read more

Met some friends here first a late lunch. they have a lot of options, burgers pizzas, salads, etc. they even had a corn beef special for St. Patrick's Day. I ordered one of their burgers on the menu. I don't recall the name but it was good. It just seemed like it may be could've been warmer as well as the fries, my husband really enjoyed his corn beef special as well as two other people in our party service was OK. It was just starting to get busy so I'm not sure if maybe our server had too many tables. She was attentive as she could be. I guess - she just wasn't super engaging. The restaurant itself has a cool bar and plenty of seating in front and in back. There are also multiple TVs for watching sports. It is on the same property as the Seacrest hotel.
