I've been here a few times and never really have a great experience. I feel very rushed by the folks making the pizza. I don't like that you can just have no sauce on your pizza, my kids don't like sauce. I've said "no sauce" on at least three different occasions and had the person making the pizza give me a strange look. I've ordered a S'Mores treat and they didn't give it to us right away. We had to go back and ask for it. While my daughter was waiting to ask about the S'mores she was ignored by the person calling out the pizzas for several minutes. It reminds me of IMOS Pizza (thin crust) from STL, MO but ten times better and faster. Creating your own with the sauce you want to have on your pizza is what keeps me coming back. Fast pizza-casual seems to be the latest franchise restaurant fad - think Pieology. The general idea is you choose your sauce and whatever toppings you want, and the thin-crust pizza cooks fairly quickly. Is it great pizza? No. The crust is so-so, but the pizza is decent, and the opportunity to choose whatever toppings you want can be fun. I enjoy the variety and quality of toppings, and appreciate telling the pizza maker exactly what I want on my pizza. Service on my visit today (11:15 am) could really improve on friendliness - staff didn't exert themselves beyond the most minimal expectations. Blaze gets bonus points for being bicycle friendly. Although the Gold River center needs more bike racks, Blaze has a great, comfortable, shaded patio. Located next to a fountain, it is a relaxing place to dine and rest during a bike ride. read more

Surprised to see that this location is much less packed and busy than the other local location, which is great!! Love all the selection for the pizza toppings. Only thing I recommend is that you don't get sea salt on your pizza, or if you do, ask for it to be better crushed/dispersed/use a lift hand. My pizza was very, very salty. Time for our Saturday family meal out and this week we decided that create your own pizza was sounding pretty darn good. We arrived around 5:30 and the line was there but moving fast. All six of us got our pizza's created just as we asked. They offer a very wide variety of sauces, cheeses, and toppings, all look very fresh and appetizing. You can get pretty creative here, come back 20 times and get 20 very different pies. Everyone in our party was very happy with their pizza, my only complaint would be that a couple of our pizzas were slightly over done (edges of the crust blackened), I think 30 seconds less would have been just perfect. Also, be warned, they serve it to you pipping hot out of the pizza oven, and I do mean HOT! I recommend giving it a couple minutes to allow the cheese to cool slightly from its magma like state. Good concept, horrible execution. I ordered online, from the time I added to my cart to trying to pay it added 5 minutes to the "ready" time...ok whatever. But got there and proceeded to wait another 10 minutes AFTER that time to get my pizza. No biggie if the business is busy and things happen AND it's worth it, but I watched my pizza come out, sit on the slicer's counter, he sliced over 10 pizzas (what I actually counted) while mine sat there cooling, I went to the cashier and told him I think those are my pizzas, it's already late so what's the deal. He blew me off and said "we're boxing them now." BS! Another 2 minutes passed, I am trying my best to glare at him and he finally walks over to the slicer, points at my pizza and the slicer FINALLY cuts and boxes my pizzas. WTF?! I walked up and asked are they cold already - "what" - I saw them sitting there for over 5 minutes, what was the deal, they were already late and then you just let them sit there - "what sorry I can't hear you" - whatever I'm not coming back there, what's the point in arguing the matter when I'm going to get blown off or some lame excuse?! Not after that lack of service; oh and no the pizza was NOT good: overcooked, cheap products, not flavorful and greasy. In the end it just reminded me of a crappy mall eatery or cafeteria style food that has a hip urban concept, but highly doubt it will last. Then again I know a lot of bad pizza restaurants that have been around for quite a while, so who can say. Thinking about it, this place makes me think of frozen California Pizza Kitchen pizzas, another trendy place I went to only one time. I'll stick to Alonzo's in Citrus Heights! read more

This is the chipotle for pizza. You get to choose whatever you want to put on your pizza. Vegan/vegetarian options too. But i never put artichokes on my pizza til i came here and gave it a shot. U can put as many toppings as u want on there too! U just pay for a pizza but with unlimited toppings, choose between high rise dough (thicker pizza) or thinner crust. It's only $10 for your own pizza the size of a medium at any given round table, dominos etc.... definitely worth it and great for leftovers. My go to pizza place, everyone that works there is so nice too. If it's your first time they do a great job explaining everything clearly and patient with you. Also options for salads too! I was bringing pizza over to some friends' house and used Yelp to find a pizza place near them. We all like a thin crust, which it is. I ordered online which was really easy. I went straight to the register and gave them my name. Numerous staff called me by name to ask me a question and to let me know how my order was going. Very friendly staff. The pizza was awesome and I am from New York so I would like to think that I am a pretty critical judge of pizza. We all loved the pizza. I will definitely be back again. The outdoor patio looked really nice and by a big fountain. Oh and it was a busy Friday night and it was amazing to watch them pump out all the pizzas. read more

This pizza place offers the best in what you would look for in a good pizza. Low priced at $7.75 for an 11 inch no matter how many toppings you choose, fully cooked in just 3 minutes and it taste great! The one thing I liked was the cheese selection. I had 4 different cheeses on mine along with pepperoni, sausage, ham, bacon, olives, artichoke hearts, tomatoes and even more cheese over the top. Really good pizza! The place is basically Chipotle but with pizza. They have set toppings you can choose, or build your own. Three sauces, at least six cheeses, lots of meat, and lots of veggies to choose from. And your pizza cooks for like three minutes and it's perfectly done! Quick & tasty! Great thin crust, crisp but not burned. Spicy red sauce was good but not spicy. I got the Build Your Own Pizza & added chopped garlic, fresh spinach, fresh red onion, fresh mushrooms, artichoke hearts, ripe olives, oregano, & vegan cheese. My family and I just ate here. I am extremely lactose intolerant and have not eaten out pizza for 10 years. When I went up to the counter and asked for vegan cheese the girl taking my order asked if I wanted her to change her gloves. I really appreciate that they did that and had a lid on the vegan cheese to keep milk out of it. On top of that everyone loved their pizza and most important I DID NOT get sick. Yesterday I went to the Gold River location during the AFC Championship Game. I couldn't get through when I called Round Table and Pizza Hut so I figured I pick up a stack of pies from Blaze. No waiting when I walked in and I got 4 fresh hot pies and salads for around $40. It only took 10 minutes and I was back home watching Brady and Gronk nearly steal Peyton's trip to the Super Bowl. The oven fired crust is cooked perfectly and has just the right amount of black on it so it doesn't get soggy on the drive home. I'm a simple man so I get the spicy red sauce and all the meats with olives mushrooms and onions. Blaze is cheap for the quality you get and I don't have to share my pizza with someone who wants goat cheese or bbq sauce on their pizza. All the kids working there were friendly and seemed happy to work there. I love this place, and it has knocked Round Table out of my go-to pizza spot. read more

I have been four or five times and like the pizza but the customer service attitude, no doubt mandated by the management, is poor. You literally have to twist arms to get toppings...my husband and I are vegan so we get the build your own with vegan cheese which is an upcharge of $2. After every veggie topping the pizza builder asks if I want want another topping in a way that seems to suggest that I should not want any more. In order to forestall all of the "do you want another topping conversation" and to move the line along, today, I simply said I want all the veggies and the pizza maker said "oh that'll make your pizza too soggy" I said that's okay, that's how I like it. The pizza maker gave me a look as though her salary would be docked the cost of every item I added to my pizza. For the life of me I can't understand why they are so stingy with the veggie toppings, It's off putting feel like you have to push back 3 or 4 times to get the pizza built the way you like it which is how it is promised in its name "build your own". I'll probably try Pieology next time. read more

I love this place! I think after only eating here two times this is my favorite restaurant, not only in Sac, but of all time! This place is amazing! I just hope they can stay in business. It almost seems to good to be true. You can get a 12 inch personal pizza here for just $8 and you can add all the fresh toppings you want and they have a lot to choose from. If you get a single topping pie it's something like $6.25 and cheese only is I think $5.25! This is the direction restaurants are heading. It's fast, versatile, good, healthy, food with countless options. You can eat Vegan, vegetarian, or all meat and cheese. It's kind of set up like a Chipotle where they make your pizza with your options as you walk down the counter. They cook it in two minutes while you are paying and then you get it. Thin crust and a huge selection of toppings from various sauces to all types of cheese (including vegan fake cheese), to gluten-free crust options, just amazing. And to top it all off they have this great Blood Orange-Ade to drink. Service is the best. The employees are happy to be there and extremely helpful. we really liked this place! i got the green stipe and switched out the shredded mozzarella for fresh mozz + goat cheese (yum!) and added carmelized onion and zucchini. next time i will ask for extra arugula cuz they sorta skimped on that. the pizza was surprisingly quite good, but was a bit too charred so had a slight bitterness from being overdone like many other reviewers have mentioned. the crust is a little thinner than i usually prefer, but it has a nice crunch to it. the outside patio was nice, right next to a lovely water fountain with lots of cute bird bathing going on :) i love how you can choose ALL the toppings you want for only $7.95, its a great deal .... i just hope they can figure out how to properly cook them without too much char before i go again! read more

just walked in based on the nice young man working the patio-he said the place is great and the pizza really good, and was so welcoming. so I went in, ordered straight off the menu-although the choices to add-there are dozens-looked yummy. Got the veggie pizza, took it home, very yummy! Will go back. Great staff, lots of help, met the manager Anna-who is obviously well suited for her position. They are all very excited about the opening, and I wish them well. Will take my family back so they can all make their own-very, very affordable! read more

This pizza is so delicious, price is great, service is quick (even when the line is to the door, which it often is). The Red Vine with the spicy red sauce is amazing.... We eat here once a week.
