One can see the effect of the economy in my visit to Rancho Steve's Pizza on today - Friday. The store was clean and bright with windows and indoor lighting. I arrived at opening time for the lunch buffet of all you can eat pizza, salad, and drink. There was one medium sized veg pizza offered for the first 10 or so minutes of service. Then a medium pepperoni pizza was added. I was the ONLY person in the dining room so I get that there would not be a variety of pizzas offered. The salad was nice with many fresh toppings to add to the crispy romaine. For my $15, I had 3 slices of pizza from a medium pizza and a nice salad with a drink. That's probably about average for lunch these days. I am just sorry to see that local small business owners are suffering because the economy is pinching EVERYONE's purse and it's getting less affordable to eat out. read more

When we called the store argued with us saying it was printed as pickup (it wasn't) and agreed to reheat and deliver the pizza that was sitting there for an hour. So our son had his end of the year soccer party here tonight, which started at 5:30. And although we had eaten only a couple of hours before, the rest of our kids would never have forgiven us if we didn't get pizza for them, and some for ourselves, too. So right when the party started, we ordered a large combination pizza, which costed $33. I also added a tip on top of that. Additionally, we ordered drinks as well. When my wife went to fill up her cup, there was a sign on the machine saying that customers had to ask for ice. Weird. So the party went on, and everyone had fun. And in the mean time, we waited...and waited...and waited...and waited for our pizza. We kinda lost track of time at one point, but then realized that our "order 9" table marker had been sitting there for quite a while. At this point, we had waited a full hour for our food. My wife inquired about the whereabouts of our pizza. The employee said that our ticket number had fallen on the floor, so they lost our order. Even still, we were sitting right in front of the register. They called out orders 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, etc. The whole time you didn't notice that the order 9 marker was still out on the table?! So at this point, we just took the pizza to go. Thank God we ate beforehand. The lady gave us a liter of soda for free, which was nice of her, but it still didn't make it right. As for the pizza? It was ok. Nothing special. We could have paid about the same price for better pizza elsewhere. I firmly believe there's really no such thing as bad pizza, but Steve's seemed pretty basic, especially for that price. Go 4 Pizza on sunrise costs about the same, but the pizza is much better. Even still, all the kids had fun, so I guess that's all that really matters. Overall, there's better options in the area. I'd recommend you check them out before settling on Steve's. read more

I called in my order, and was quoted NINETY-SIX BUCKS $96.25 and when my friend got there, the order was supposedly lost. The pizza here is great, the Garlic Ranch Chicken is a favorite. All the toppings are fresh and the crust is 10/10.

I have tried several pizza places in the area for my office and this place is great for my company. Everyone loves their special pizzas. In general, we order Combo, All Meat and Garlic Chicken. Best one that we love is Jalepeno, Pineapple and Pepperoni. We tried the Mediterranean pizza and we only had one slice eaten. The crust is perfectly cooked, not soggy or burnt when it arrives. Pizzas come in hot and we don't have left overs. We always try different kinds of pizzas. We must try dining in and not delivery sometime soon. read more

I really hate to do this, however, I feel that the public has a right to know. I went there at lunch time, wanted to order a buffet and there were no pizzas available. It sat that way for about a 1/2 an hour and when they did bring the pizza's out, they only brought two. When another patron asked if they were going to bring any more out, the woman at the counter stated not until all the pizza was eaten for the first two. Lol When the other patron stated that that is not how buffets usually work, the woman at the counter with glasses started to argue with them. I went ahead and ordered something else off the menu, I will admit, the philly cheesesteak did taste pretty good. When I went to go get my drink from the fountain machine, I noticed that there was a sticky trap on the side that had two cockroaches stuck to it. That and that in itself will be the reason why I will never return to this place. I am going to assume that this is family owned and ran, I feel that mabye they should hire an outside firm to help them evaluate on what they could do to make this place more hygienic and more customer service orientated. Absolutely awful place. My friend and I went here. Ordered a large thin crust with a few toppings. It was $40! Prices like that are insane. I can go to round table and get a much higher quality pizza for that price and it won't be thin crust. Also the staff were not very nice. I came to this place 7 years ago for the lunch buffet. Worst pizza lunch buffet I've ever been to. Between their lunch buffet and the experience my friend had this is a very poor restaurant in my opinion. For the price of their pizza the quality does not match up whatsoever. Been a longtime fan of Steve's Pizza in the Sacramento area so I stopped by this franchise @ 12:45pm ready for a great lunch buffet, which goes from 12-2pm. Unfortunately what I got was a dirty and depleted selection of cold pizza, and an employee who was too busy on a FaceTime call to address it. When I asked if fresh pizza would be coming out she said shortly, so I sat and waited patiently while she continued with her call. 10 minutes goes by and she realizes I'm still waiting for what I paid $14 for, so she gets up with her phone, goes in the back and starts making a pizza. Never washed her hands, and never put down her phone. Back to her table she goes to continue the call. In the end I got a tasteless salad from their bar, old cold pizza, a dirty dinning room, and a employee who had no interest in working that day. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more

I was looking for a new pizza place as my regular one (Milan Pizza, on Coloma just off Sunrise) doesn't have cauliflower crusts so I thought to give Steves a try. Pizza was good and I like that they have A cauliflower crust option. The guy that helped me said all pizzas were available in cauliflower crust. But when I ordered he said it's only available in the medium size and I can get that. Business owners can't do it all and make a profit. My issue was with the pricing.... He charged more than the menu board showed. I asked for a receipt, he printed one that just had my total on it, no itemization of the transaction. When I asked him about it he said that Rancho tax just went up. I wasn't satisfied with his answer, so I looked it up. Still not the right price.... When I got my pizza I further pressed him on the subject. His reply then was the menu board hadn't been updated and they company that was suppose to do it hadn't gotten to it yet. I told him that's false advertising. Pretty sketchy business practices.... Stuff like this ends with bankruptcy. With a 12" pizza at $27 I'll stick to my regular place, Milan Pizza. Give Milan a try.... They do Two for One (coupon below) and it's great pizza. Just not in the coveted cauliflower crust. At least they're honest. read more

PIZZA! Good pizza. Just moved into the area a week ago and while I have a vast number of local places to chose or a meal, I have been here twice already. Plenty of indoor seating for when that is available again (covid-19 times don't allow it right now) but good to know. Indoors is roomy for physical distancing if one is waiting for their order. Some tables outside are available. Most people seems to take out which is not uncommon for a pizza place anyway. Ordered a three topping pizza (sausage, Canadian bacon, and mushroom) and cheesy bread. The pizza was warm, fresh, as ordered, and best of all very tasty. both times. The cheesy bread is only $7.99 for a huge pizza sized (the only size choice I saw). Too big for a single person with little to know impulse control for wonderful things of the cheesy bread variety. ;-) While it is good, it could be more buttery and garlicky. Both of my interactions with the staff were positive. One was an online order through Yelp that went to Slices app interface. Easy to use and quick to conclude my order. The second order was via phone. The person didn't rush me which I appreciated Sometime on the phone orders, one can be made to feel secondary to in-person orders. So local, good pizza, friend experience. All in all, thumbs up for sure. read more

I was so incredibly disappointed yesterday when my family went for pizza here. We were the only dine-in customers and only one take out customer came in while we were there but we seriously waited about 45 minutes for our order. They forgot my pizza was supposed to be gluten-free which delayed my food about 15 minutes after the rest of the party which I understand but their gluten-free crust there used to be so delicious and it was terrible - a matzo-like cracker thing...so sad! The service was also lousy - my brother-in-law had to approach the counter twice and wait for a few minutes just to get a water cup. It was really a sad experience, I haven't been there in some time but they used to have decently timed service and really delicious pizza. There were at least four staff there so it wasn't as though two guys were trying to juggle our three pizzas and an order of wings. The family members eating the regular crust pizza were happy with the their pizza once they got it and their wings were good which is why I'm giving two stars. read more

It's not bad pizza! I had a date take me here the other night and while I actually disagree with pizza on a first date, i agree that it wasn't comparable to dominos. This is a very simple pizza place in Rancho Cordova. It's the kind of pizza that you would order for lunch or go to with your coworkers! They do have a salad bar and some different options for pizza and they serve beer here as well. They weren't shut down at 7pm like the other places around the area. My first time in this place and we came for the pizza buffet. There were 2 pizza out neither of which looked fresh. The cheesey bread looked okay. I opted for the salad bar instead, it looked better. My coworker ended up having to ask for more pizzas, more salad for the salad bar. They just seemed very unprepared for a buffet. After we had eaten we noticed that the Parmesan cheese in the containers were moldy and looked old. I'm concerned I might get sick but hoping not, just an overall concerning situation.
