This location is absolutely horrible! We just waited over an hour for our pizza. We were #5 in line and it took us over 30 minutes to place our order. Online orders kept pouring in with no regard for those standing in line and no one behind the counter informed us of an extra long wait time. Once we finally paid and were waiting for our pizza to cook I go up to the counter knowing it should be done soon. Come to find out our pizza burned so we had to start over. The lady cooking the pizzas couldn't have been colder and after waiting over an hour, she throws the pizza my way without any acknowledgment. We will never be back to this location. read more

Try this scenario: entering any restaurant and quietly standing around for 20 minutes with NOTHING happening. Except, the workers are there merely feet away, and they see you and you see them. It really makes you want to yell out factually: "Hey, stupid! It's not my job to say hello to you BUT IT IS YOUR DAMN JOB to always engage me (the customer)." Although, the occasional other guests who show up are given attention. It's only you who's ignored--which implies some kind of specific prejudice being played out there. But that's a story for another day. Instead, here's the actual story which took place: I'd placed an online order and arrived to this location. When I walked through the door, none of the four employees present greeted me. Then, I stood 10 minutes DIRECTLY AT the order pickup spot--where two workers were watching over the oven--and neither inquired why I was there. No simple "you picking up?" or "what do you need?" In fact, it appeared they purposely disregarded a paying patron who was the reason for them having jobs. Figuring mine wasn't yet ready, I switched to waiting nearby (only a few yards away) for another 10 minutes, in odd silence. The staff continued to moved about. After nearly half an hour, my name was finally called by an individual who acted as if he didn't know which customer the order was for, when I was the only person waiting there all that time. Throughout, ONE other employee managed to give me a quick timid glance--like we were a couple who'd broken up the relationship and now the other party was "visibly" (quotes are for foreshadowing) uneasy to my presence. (Sarcasm) but imagine my tremendous appreciation... It could be suggested that the staff was very busy. Well, they were busy... TALKING/LAUGHING AMONG THEMSELVES and with other patrons. Or, this being Palm Desert, it might be I neither looked like a homeless person nor a tourist, because the workers would promptly respond to the loitering homeless guy by asking him to immediately leave and to the flashy tourist by asking him to spend more more more money. Instead, I looked like an average joe getting pizza lunch and wasn't interesting enough for these colorful clowns. But what they didn't realize was I'd been to numerous other Blaze locations around the country and this pathetic ordeal had never happened. About half the time, I would get a greeting right after going through the door. ALL THE TIME, someone would acknowledge me if I got anywhere near the pickup station. In fact, I'd visited this same location before and it was a much different/better experience. So, what the fuck happened? Who taught these clueless halfwits that it was perfectly normal to not approach or question a customer who'd shown up inside? Perhaps they were acting subdued, embarrassed due to recognizing how lethargic their service was (a frequent complaint in other eater reviews)? OR was it simply incompetent, unqualified individuals being awarded their jobs because this was California--where they hired just about anybody per "compassion" or "diversity" or some other business-irrelevant bullshit? This incident would be describing specifically the entire crew who was working at noon on this past Thursday. To the business owner or franchisee: you should watch the recording (if there was a camera). Then, fire the entire useless lot. THERE WAS a final fuck-you (to me) from the restaurant: they didn't include sauces that I'd requested. Luckily, I found out and drove back to the restaurant before I'd gotten too far, but still... At last, with sauces (handed over in disdain by a "visibly" annoyed employee, and guess which one!?) finally in hand, I began enduring my NOW COLD, DEFLATED pizza and chessy bread. P.S. Hey, LeBron, if this was any indication, your investment could be heading downhill fast. read more

The concept was good. We had their "Meat Lovers" pizza. The food was ready quickly. The pizza was good though the crust was a bit thin and didn't hold up well under the weight of toppings. Using the "NJ fold" was the least messy way to eat the pizza. Otherwise, the pizza was good and at a fair price. When we visited, the dining area wasn't too crowded. The tables were in need of a good wipe down. There was no cutlery and no lids for cups. The iced tea didn't taste good. read more

I gave them 5 stars 6 years ago and have really loved their pizza since then. However, I just ordered the MEGA MUSHROOM pizza, the months special, and was really disappointed. It had maybe one portion of mushrooms, if that. I went home and cooked up a half pound of mushrooms to put on top of my pizza. I always order the build your own pizza and enjoyed that. The pizza comes with Mozzarella, ricotta, artichokes, chopped garlic, and red sauce dollops. I got whole garlic and no red sauce dollops. Came here on a Wednesday around 7pm, to start of by saying I had a bad experience is an understatement. I am not here to scold the workers but if somebody can't get three orders right after me repeating the order 5 plus times then they are just stupid. This isn't rocket science. First guy didn't understand my order got stressed out after holding me in the line for 10-15 minutes after something so simple and passed it on to his coworker. Didn't know somebody could be so stressed out with just a simple order of Pepperoni pizza, jeeez. Other girl didn't know what she was doing she started making another pepperoni pizza when the other poor guy just barely got done making it. Again no form of communication. Instead of two build your owns they thought I said one after I said a million times my orders back to back. The pizza guy needs another job he is behind 7 pizzas how embarrassing. Even the other coworker came up to him and said you're so behind. Is he sleeping or is he high? I had to wait 45 minutes for three orders which should have taken 10 minutes. This place is a joke. To add on top of that he was boxing me the wrong pizza until I had to correct him and didn't know what happened to my order. I asked him for ranch and he said it's extra. Funny, when the three people in front of me asked for side sauces he gave them it all for free plus additional cheese while he told me it's extra. I was literally in line for 45 minutes because they had a lot of walkins plus online orders, with only three employees. It's season in the desert on a Saturday when people are out shopping. Why would you not have more people working at 3p. On top of that, no one greeted us or told us the famous "We'll be right with you" They just ignored it and worked on six or seven to go orders while there were 7 people in line. They didn't even know how to multitask effectively and efficiently. I got over charged for a cheese pizza and their soda machine was broken. However, the delivery guy did not bring 2 sauces for the bread, a bottle of coke, utensils, napkins, red pepper flakes and parmesan cheese I ordered together. I had to call the store to ask for a refund on the paid drink, but they refused to do so. All they told me was to 'contact Uber Eats or Doordash' if I want a refund. I told them that I do not know who delivered it because I did not order through either Uber Eats or Doordash. And they asked me to check my email to find out. I just can't believe that they refused to take care of the issue. I did NOT order through Uber Eats. I did NOT order through Doordash. At pickup staff told me that no bags were available, no straws were available and no "to go" utensils available even though I had salads. Asked to have someone help me to car and was told no one was available! I was alone on pick up and ended dumping the two salads in the parking lot as they slid off the top of the pizza boxes. Normally order online but the site and app was down. Sucks but not a deal breaker. I go in to order and things start out fine but once I ask to add on two extra things it's a problem. I was told I cannot swap out an item that was already in it. Ok that's fine but not what I asked for. If it's an additional charge that's fine too. The employee seemed upset for asking to add Parmesan to both meatballs I ordered and have one of them with jalapeños too. It's never been a problem to order it that way online so why is it suddenly me now in store? I pay and go back to work to fine that I only have jalapeños and not also banana peppers. I work in customer service too. I get it. You have your bad days, but at least ask for clarification or just tell me you can't do that or offer me some kinda compromise. After multiple attempts of eating here with my partner we have both agreed to avoid the Palm Desert Blaze Pizza all together. Sure Palm Springs is busier and farther but their service is good enough. Not that I expect top notch service from chains but this place is ridiculous. Only come if you have time to kill bc youre lucky to have your pizza made in under 30 minutes. First it will take 5/10 minutes for them to notice you. Then they'll proceed to not make eye contact and give attitude through out the line. With out a fail for about a handful of visits first. If you are ordering two pizzas together in line I think it is absurd to make those ten minutes apart. It is rude to snap at me when I ask about me waiting to start my second pizza while they have already removed my first from the oven. Also I understand passing down pizzas to someone else to finish off. However for them to assume where it was left off is insane to me. I asked for spicy red sauce and as she couldn't continue my order, another man places regular sauce. Okay whatever. But again with the cheese I was given the wrong one because it was passed to someone else again. Watching someone make your food wrong as you're walking through the line just makes me lose my appetite immediately. Not to mention trying to skip the service entirely by ordering online only for them to claim they have yet to start your order 35 minutes after being placed. The poor (what I assume to be) manager always seems to be stressed while the rest are either in chaos or simply snap back at her and refuse to keep the line moving. It honestly seems like there is too much tension within the workers to ever have a quick, comfortable and even mildly satisfying experience.
