This is the Subway for pizza. Many options. It's thin crust so if you don't like that, you probably won't like it here. I love it and this has become one of my favorite pizzas, more so the more I go since I have my order down! I love the custom builds. My favorite is red sauce, the balls of mozzarella, minced garlic, salt (needed!!!) and a sprinkle of fresh arugula after baking. As another reviewer mentioned, the best part is one set price for as many toppings as you'd like. Drives me crazy when you get a pizza and it ends up being a quadrillion dollars because you added a few toppings. Other reviewers said the taste is bland - I found that on my first visit, too, but asked for a little extra sprinkle of salt the next time. That brought out the nice flavors. My only complaint - I don't know if there is a manager working here, even thought there are A LOT of people working behind the counter. We've gone twice so far and both times the young kids seemed miserable and like they don't want to be there (zero smiles). The flow of the place isn't great...I think these both seems like a result of mis-management. We'll go back for the food and upgrade this to five stars once customer service has improved! read more

Visited Blaze for the first time yesterday. Pizza was great!, but what was so extraordinary was the service! We were there about 12:30, and the place was jammed with at least 30+customers, with only 5 workers (we later found out 3 workers hadn't come in as scheduled). These young people were awesome! They were cheerful, apologetic for the wait, and literally ran from station to station to get everyone served. No quality was sacrificed during this overwhelming experience, and I never heard one complaint from staff or customers, because it was evident they were doing exceptional under the circumstances. At one point Courtney, who appeared to be in charge, temporarily closed the place so they could clean up and regroup ( looked like there had been a food fight in the restaurant!), and posted someone outside the door to apologize to upcoming customers. The calm and super competent manner that these young people handled themselves and the situation was remarkable! We were also given a coupon for a free pizza for our patience, which was really appreciated! Blaze management should recognize this group of employees for outstanding customer service! Came in today with my boyfriend and our friend for lunch, very friendly service but when I got my pizza was it was flat bread and not high-rise. The manager was very kind and remade my pizza free of charge and as I left offered a drink/ or dessert on the house. Thank you, and my pizza was delicious! read more

Great place to sit down and enjoy the food. Very friendly environment great customer service. Went there, sat outside and had the great pleasure of meeting a gentleman that work there, David. Omg! he was awesome!!! Great, very presentable and easy to converse with type a guy. He checked on us every 5 min or so to see if we needed anything and was available when we did need him. He needs to be recognize for outstanding customer service. It was my first time going in a Blaze pizza and I will definitely be coming back because of the great experience David provided for us. I love this place because it's one price for all pizzas, whether it be custom or signature pizza. I do have to say that they have been off their game lately. I've ordered twice through online order and they did not have the pizza ready. I had to wait for the pizza to be made because they forgot, which doesn't bother me. But I think they rushed the pizza because when I got home (I live 5 mins away), the dough was mushy and not fully cooked. Also when I picked up a slice, all the toppings fell off very easily. I ended up re-baking the pizza myself which defeats the purpose of me ordering to go pizza. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I just feel annoyed because it's happened twice in the past month. read more

Well, as build your own pizza goes, this ranks quite well. Many options to put on your pizza. My only complaints would be that the employees seemed to lack training-big time. Sloooow. Also no seat covers in the restrooms? No dispenser either, so this seems to be a decision set in stone. I come here often, not only for the food but for the customer service! The manager Courtney is amazing. When the lines are long due to lunch hour rush she's always out there greeting everyone and starting small talk. I've even seen her working the pizza prep line. Your team today wasn't very proficient. Placed a mobile order while on the road. 15 mins later when I arrived to pick it up they hadn't even prepared it yet. The guy in charge of the oven wasn't very helpful either just walked away from me while I was talking to him. Normally I enjoy this location, the manager is very welcoming and always friendly but your team today just didn't seem to be on top of it even though you guys weren't all that busy. Very disappointed in THIS location of Blaze Pizza. I have eaten Blaze Pizza at 2 other locations and have been quite happy with the brand, but at this particular location, even though I only asked for 3 toppings plus cheese, the young woman who made my pizza was stingy, stingy, stingy with the toppings! I asked her to please add a little more, and she barely added any more at all. In the end, I ended up with practically no mozzarella, maybe 6 pieces of black olives, about 5 little pieces of green pepper and about 5 mushrooms. It was really rather pathetic. Then there was the staff member, who I think was trying to be helpful, but he kept hovering over us, asking us about 8 times while we were eating if he could get us anything. I mean, customer service is nice, but we were trying to have a conversation... So we won't be going back to this location anytime soon! read more

I love it here!!!!! I came in today and got to build my own pizza and got to choose any toppings I want. They had such a large variety. Tried to order a pizza for pickup, only got voice mail. So decided to go to location and try their pizza. The first thing I noticed was the number of employees and wondering why no one could answer phone? Lot of the employees were doing nothing. The pizza crust was excellent. That was the best part. They were stingy on the ingredients and over priced. There was only one size (like a personal size). For a fairly new place, no one asked if everything was ok? I only give this place 5 stars because of how amazing everything was yesterday! I stopped by while this place was getting slammed and I didn't even have to wait that long for me to get serviced! I like how everything was quick and easy and how everything just flowed when I picked what I wanted as I went down the toppings line. I have to give thanks to the whole team that handled my big order of pizzas. But, I have to hands down give my thanks to the manager of that night and that being Rosa! Blaze is always great pizza that rarely disappoints. This particular location however, was a bit sub-par compared to others. We arrived about 10:30am (opened at 10:00am) and although the staff was very friendly, there were a few areas that hadn't been tended to, including the nozzles on the soda machine, several dirty tables, and it was a couple dollars more than our usual haunt in SD. I had a 2-for-1 coupon for Blaze pizza so, having never been to Blaze before, I thought I'd try it out at the San Clemente Outlet Mall. I ordered my two pizzas and moved towards the cashier as my pizzas cooked quickly for me. I handed Courtney (the cashier was also the manager) my coupon. She smiled big and VERY NICELY told me that it was the wrong coupon but she would honor it because she wants me to come back and be a regular! I was embarrassed but she and I both laughed because I couldn't read the coupon without my glasses! Ha! Courtney was great, the place was a cool set-up, and, btw, the pizzas were DELICIOUS. If I could put no stars I would but my experience at blaze was terrible. I saw many workers not doing anything and as I was being checked out, I was talking to the cashier and was rudely interrupted by a manager. I believe was named Scott? He started yelling at the cashier to make pizza boxes but there was a long line so there really was no room to make pizza boxes. I was confused because instead of asking one of the workers that weren't doing anything, he chose to yell at the cashier in front of customers. He put a bad vibe out in the restaurant. Three of us went to the special $4 pizza event tonight...even though it was National Taco Day, we could not pass up this deal! The line was out the door, but went quickly and we were met at every station with a smile and greeting using our names! I finished paying and heard my name called...how did they do that? So fast!! Got my fountain drink and went outside...right away someone came to wipe off the table and ask if we needed anything else. They were swamped but still gave great service. When we finished, Courtney the mgr came by and chatted with us. What a treasure she is!! Raved about her boss, the company and what a perfect niche she found for her life passion. Pizza place blaze has an industrial charm to it. Although the staff members seem to be young and immature. The cashier Dani (spelling might be off because she was wearing another persons name-tag even tho everyone called her Dani) anyway, she was friendly but careless as she coughed all over her hand before prepping people's food. Dani (or Laurie as her name tag suggests) also forgot to put my order in so I had to wait an extra 25-30 mins for my order to be finished. It was just a simple 10in pizza but I waited forever. The counters were dirty and so was the floor even though a young lady was cleaning it "throughly". When my pizza came out of the oven she walked away and left my pizza sitting there uncut. Luckily the guy pulling pizzas out cut it for me so I could leave. I've tasted the pizza and it was okay. I was late for my appointment and the pizza was just okay. I will try again when I know I have more time to wait in the event this happens again. Everybody gets a 2nd chance, even if my first impression wasn't such a good one. read more

I visited this blaze a couple weeks ago for the first time and had an absolutely great time! I ordered a make your self with marinara sauce, mozzarella, a touch of feta, one whole turkey meatball, purple olives and purple onions and salt and pepper! Scrumptious!! They ran out of purple onions so Mandy hustled to the back and reappeared with more purple onions. I thought," Wow, they sure are cooking with grease!" The cashier Sydney was courteous and respectful. She did such a great job! I waited at the pizza pickup station to get my pizza and the pizza cutter Jane was so nice! She cut it perfectly! The food is great, per usual for a Blaze, but it was horrible service. It took us 30 minutes to order and get food! And there were maybe 10 people in line ahead of us. The staff didn't seem bothered by the line but moved about in a lackadaisical pace. I've never seen food service people move so slowly or care so little about a line like that. read more

I'm familiar with different locations but this one is particularly messy : the workers are nice and helpful but they should make an effort to keep the space around the containers clean...I understand that when you take cheese from a container to the pizza with your hand some is going to fall off, but clean right after before the next guest ! It doesn't look appetizing at all to see all the ingredients all over the place...reminds me a street at the end of a street market ...plus it's an issue for cross contamination if someone has food allergy. Beside that, it's annoying not having napkins on the table, there's only 2-3 spots with napkins and every time you have to get up to get some (!and you know how messy eating a pizza can be messy, so several times during your meal u have to get up, it's just annoying )...common guys, how much cost paper napkins ? I know you are under a budget but Don't be cheap and ruin the customer experience...you loose more money at the end by not having them returning... Last thing, it's a very noisy place, the echo of the music, plus the sound of the making of the pizza and the conversation of the customers make the experience not enjoyable, you just want to eat fast and leave...
