My wife and I went here on a whim on a Saturday night. To be clear, we went to the new location, Blazin Kajun North which is across the street while the old location is being renovated. The venue itself is beautiful!! You could tell a lot of thought went into the design. The staff was very nice and accommodating..we had Jamiyah as a waitress, and she was great!!! She took care of us and we had a great convo about TV shows lol. We had the salmon bites which was an 8/10, but the best thing about the experience was the Bussin Bowl which was SO GOOD.. 10000000/10! No kidding the best thing I have had in a long time! Do not waste your gas or money going to this place. Anytime you go somewhere and they say No refunds you know it's a trash spot. I ordered calamari and they were so salty that you couldn't eat them. I attended an event at this establishment with high hopes. My sister ordered the red beans and rice. When the food arrived, it smelled of rotten, like spoiled, dead rat meat. After speaking with the manager, my sister was told that she would not be compensated in any shape, form or fashion. She was not offered another item nor a refund. Even after the manager, waitress, cook and another worker smelled the dish, the manager still insisted that my sister pay for it. After the bill was paid for, the manager called a police officer and lied stating that she was being disruptive and wanted her removed. The officer took her outside and realized that she had been lied to and offered my sister to re-enter without any issues. At this point, my sister refused and left. After the one or two bites taken initially , she threw up and was sick from the bowl of dead spoiled rat meat and rice dish! The manager would not even attempt to be accommodated over a smelly, spoiled, rotten bowl of beans and rice. Instead, she brought out receipts stating that the meat was purchased that morning and used at 10:00pm and it wasn't spoiled. However, no one wanted to taste it. The food and drinks are over priced, the drinks are weak, the food is horrible and the manager has no customer service skills at all. The fried pickles are overrated - thin and really greasy so I wouldn't get those again. The drinks were super weak... I enjoyed the atmosphere of Blazin Kajun. I went for crawfish and was not disappointed in the flavor. Worthy of mentioning, THE CORN. Best corn I've had, ever. It's the beginning of crawfish season but at least 1/3 of my crawfish were not edible. Maybe supplier issues? It's my third time eating crawfish this season and I haven't had this issue with elsewhere. Also worth mentioning: The Service. Absolutely horrible. They were not busy and the bar was empty. Had to ask for our drinks several times, no refills, and spent majority of the time looking for our waitress. This is the beginning of crawfish season and I really believe if they can't get this fixed your visit will be horrid. I was only able to get 2lbs and one refill on a sweet tea in the 2 hours I was there. No one asked if I wanted more, and my butter never came out. Service was below bare minimum. My family and I have visited a few times now, and Blazin Cajun definitely hits the mark for delicious food and excellent service. We've tried the shrimp po'boy, gumbo, Gumbo Greens, red beans and rice with jalapeño cornbread, shrimp pasta, and crab fingers. All were delicious and prepared fresh. Portions were quite large, and the spice levels were on point. The slushies are amazing, and the "grown-up" drinks pack a punch. Prices are in the mid-range, but when you taste the quality, it makes sense. The owners and staff are always welcoming when we come in, and Triston is a delightful host/server. They can't be charging Pappadeaux prices for a "spot" on 1960.
