The valley finally got a decent KBBQ restaurant that's close to quality KBBQ places in LA and OC. They have 3 AYCE options as well as hot pot. You can select AYCE KBBQ and add hot pot for an additional $5. The quality of the meats is excellent and you're able to pick your sides and sauces for KBBQ which I like because you can get whatever you want as needed. For hot pot, you're able to choose your sides and veggies as well. They recently installed vents that hover right over the grill to suck up the smoke so the air doesnt get smokey in the restaurant which is good. I can't believe how good this place was. It has a slick, modern atmosphere with plenty of nice seating, and pool tables while you wait! The condiments are served salad bar style, and of course the AYCE meats comprise a huge selection for the price. $29? Yes, please! Don't miss the spicy sausages and the thinly sliced beef belly! Our server, Jessica, was incredible. I don't know how she did it, but every time I turned around she was there asking if we needed anything. Did she have a radar? Could she teleport? When I read all of the reviews, I was hesitant to go, but that couldn't hold me back from eating my favorite food. I am so happy we have a hotpot restaurant in the desert that isn't robbing us out of our pockets! $32.99 is an ultra reasonable price for AYCE Kbbq and or hotpot. I believe you can pay more for the upgraded meat selection or to enjoy both at the same time. I only had the hotpot. This place was busy! There was a wait for the combination dining. They had a cool waiting area with lots of chairs and 2 pool tables. There was no wait for the hot pot room. Yes, they have a separate room for hot pot that they keep cooler because who wants to eat hot boiling soup in the summer? I do! I so appreciated the ac immensely. The menu was easy to follow. The staff was very helpful and attentive making sure we knew how to order. The soup flavors were delicious. We ordered 2 types of meat each on our first round. I'm warning you now, that it was a lot of meat. I recommend starting with one type each and going from there. They will charge you if you don't finish your meat. The salad bar had a huge variety of noodles, tofus, fishballs, veggies, kimchis and sauces. There WAS NOT a limitation to the self serve salad bar. This place was a complete disaster! The service was appalling. It took three requests to get a drink, and two more to get a simple appetizer. Even when I reminded them about my orders, I was met with attitude. To top it off, they tried to pull a fast one on us. They charged two people who didn't eat anything but water, soda, and an appetizer for a "hot pot meal." She had to go "ask her manager" if it could be removed, and she could only take off one pot because they had some of the appetizer. They failed to mention that when we ordered it. Tables are set up for either or. Pretty big space and booths are pretty roomy. Its smart to scope out the sides bar area ahead of time since it might sway your decision to choose between the two options. We came in a party of 8 and my son and I were the only ones who chose KBBQ so we were seated at our own booth. The rest of the party was in another area. Our server was great! She had brown wavy hair and at a time where customer service is really lacking she stood out (I told her that after too). My son requested some fresh veggies from the back because of allergies and the manager came out to check on us. Nice touch. The meats were solid and the sauces were very good. I really liked that you can order bibimbap too! I can't comment on the hotpot as much because we only visited them after we finished eating. The restrictions to the packages are a bit weird to me. Some items are not unlimited even if you pay for the premium package. However there is a variety of options so that helps. Some meats were too fatty for us but our server made some good recommendations for next time. The salad bar/ sauce station is probably my favorite part. The spicy cucumber salad and kimchi were my top two. As well as the hot pot station which consisted of raw vegetables and noodles with some fresh seafood. We are new to the hot pot and weren't able to enjoy our noodles because we couldn't get them out. It is quite dark in there being the walls are black and have these blue led lights all around. It's not too bad. We did have a hard time getting in our seats. We were sat at a booth and the bench chairs were a bit too close due to the heating equipment in the middle. The food quality is excellent. Fresh cuts of higher grade meats. (Prime meats available at slightly more cost.) Our server was great, friendly and accommodating. My only issue is that they seem to be confused as to their identity... not really a traditional Korean Bar-B-Q or traditional Hot Pot restaurant... so check your expectations at the door. I've had two good meals here. One was BBQ and the other hot pot. There's an amazing array of meats, appetizers, sides for both. Hot pot was delicious, with me getting the spicy Sichuan brorh. At times or takes your breath away. But it was nicely flavored. Adding everything to it made it even better. I made my own kick ass chili oil sauce that amped up the flavor of everything. So that my kidneys don't fail, I don't go nuts ordering multiple rounds of meat. Usually just one. It's ok. It's all so delicious I don't feel robbed. Absolutely looooovvved it . Went on a random Wednesday afternoon with a few coworkers and man we had a feast ! So delicious first time I've experience a sauce bar 10/10 chef kisses . Making your own flavor blends to dip in and the burst of different flavors with each bite was incredible . It is a nice contrast from the blazing heat and light outside with the atmosphere pretty dim and the service was excellent the ladies had no problem explaining how things worked at their establishment without making you seem foolish for asking. (I am still fairly new to this style of cuisine) And I do see reviews saying you have to choose either the grill or the hotpot but I didn't find that to be our experience . Perhaps the whole table has to commit to both but we all had both and it's was not badly priced we chose the "top tier" group of meats and it came out to about 50 a person plus tip . Now the kimchi..... this Kimchi is gold and the actual best I've ever eaten in my life.... I am a kimchi eater and this is the premium top tier.... You will not be disappointed!.. It is rare (as in NEVER) that I have had such incredibly bad service that I don't leave a tip but this place was the worst I've ever been too. Our "waitress" was, hands down, the worst I've ever had. She came by and was impatient and rude. The food was terrible and the condiment bar was lousy. The kimchi was rotten. Not as in "fermented" but out right rotten as in went bad. My niece tried to tell her she's never been there before can you explain the menu and instead of her giving a knowledgeable answer she clicked her overly long nails together and responded that it says it on the menu. While clicking her nails around she also said that "you can order 4 meats at a time because anything that's left you get charged for". Incredibly unfriendly and did I mention RUDE? Lol She took our order for the first and second round of meats then promptly disappeared and didn't come back. She never asked us if we wanted anything to drink (which was a missed opportunity for the restaurant to make $$$) the guy dropping the meats off never told us what anything was as he set it down and had his AirPods in and never said a word to us. After sitting and waiting for the "waitress" approximately 15 minutes my daughter got up to go to the condiment bar saw her in the back talking to a coworker. She never returned and after sitting there waiting for 45 min or more while two other waitresses walked by to the other tables one of them finally approached our table and though she was nice she never told us if she was our new waitress and the other one never bothered to say she was leaving us to a different waitress. We assumed she had left for the day when we no longer saw her out on the floor. The one thing that place has going for it is the busboy/waiter with the longer hair and ponytail. He was the one that came to our table multiple times to take away plates and then he actually started waiting tables. He was really good and I/we felt really bad not leaving a tip just because of him but unfortunately he was never our waiter he was assigned different tables. The cost was ridiculously high for the minimal selections on the menu, and the meat we DID order all looked exactly the same. This was one place we will definitely be eliminating when we come out here to vacation from now on. Was visiting Palm Springs for the weekend and saw this place advertised on a Billboard on the way. My son and I decided to go here for dinner the next day. This place offers hot pot & Korean bbq. My son was wanting Korean BBQ & I was wanting hot pot, but unfortunately they will not allow you to just do one of each. They said that we both have to get the same thing, or pay the extra $5/person to have the option of both. Although that was annoying, I just went with it. If you want to get galbi or ribeye for the hot pot, you have to go with the premium menu which was $38.99/person + $5 to have the option of both bbq and hot pot. The pots for the hot pot are really small and you can't fit much stuff into them. We got the spicy miso but it wasn't spicy at all. Overall, the hot pot I would rate like a 6/10. The BBQ was actually better quality than the hot pot meats, and I would give that like an 7.5/10. But if you are planning to come here with a few ppl who like different things on the menu, be prepared to spend around $50/person. We eat a lot of Korean BBQ and Shabu Shabu places and this one was really basic compared to others and more expensive, definitely not worth the $117 we spent for two of us. read more
