I came here for lunch since I was in the area. I wanted to try their pão de queijo and the tapioca sandwich. The staff recommended the lean steak club pão de queijo panini so I decided to try it out along with the pão de queijo. Their pão de queijo was pretty large and shareable. It was fresh and very cheesy. The lean steak club panini was a bit small and there wasn't as much steak as I had hoped but still tasted good. I really liked their outdoor seating especially when there's nice weather. I have to try their tapioca sandwiches next time! read more

Wow! Blown away by the flavor and good vibes of this place! I stopped in when they had a live DJ on the patio on a Saturday. Never had Brazilian food but this was so tasty. The Pesto Pao De Queijo was a delicious chewy, cheesy ball of goodness. love the cozy vibes in here - probably about 5 2-seat tables and one lounge couch. The food was delicious, I want to come back. The pao de queijo panini with avo & eggs....i thought it was amazing they just flatten the cheese bread and boom, it's a sandwich. The flavor on the bread was perfectly cheesy, chewy with a little crunch. I want to come back and try the other bread. I arrived around 3P, so it was after lunch and before dinner, and chose to wait for the Pao de Queijo "happy hour"...just had to because they were so good! I got 2 original, 1 pesto and 1 spicy. TAP, a Brazilian cafe (TAP stands for Tapioca, Açaí, Pão de queijo) and not a beer bar, is amazing! I love everything I've ordered here, and the employees are quite polite and friendly. The samba açaí bowl and traditional pão de queijo are probably my favorites. Recently I ventured into the panini, and they've been swell as well. Everything is gluten-free too if that is important to you. TAP isn't a huge place, but there are a couple of tables and a sofa inside, and there's outdoor seating right between them and Rivercrest next door. Delicious surprise. After walking around one morning I came in for a smoothie. But the menu was so interesting I had to give it a try. I tried the bacon egg and cheese on a Pao de quejo bun . Wow best sandwich ever! Light and cheesy . I also had a bite of the chicken club on tapioca, very nice. I had some of their free mint water and to go ordered a Peanut butter açaí smoothie. As a celiac I was in heaven when I saw that this is a 100% gluten free facility. They even had signs saying no outside for or drinks so I definitely felt safe eating there. The food was delicious & the service was just as good. The staff was patient & knowledgeable. Delicious Pao de queijo & the paninis were insanely good! Randomly passed by while searching for food in the area.. Best açaí i've had in new york so far. It doesn't feel like it just came out of the freezer like every other açaí i've had, and the consistency was perfect. So fresh, the fruits were fresh too, and the peanut butter was somehow also super flavorful. Loved it, will most definitely be coming back. read more

Went here the first weekend TAP opened and wow was it popular. They had $1 deals on baby acai bowls and cheese bread that day so I tried both. I have to say the cheese bread is very delicious and is definitely best fresh - I bought another for regular price for my fiance at home and it's still good but not the same 4 hours later. The acai bowl was great and had a refreshing, slightly minty taste that made it stand out amongst other acai bowls I've had. The inside of the restaurant is pretty nice, though crowded since I visited during the first weekend. There are a few tables and seats, and the glass entrance helps see the restaurant form the outside. Overall, I'd come back if I'm in the Ditmars area if I'm craving healthy food or cheeeeeesy bread. There are a lot of really exciting restaurants opening up these days in the neighborhood so here's to hoping they stay ahead of the rest! read more

Decided to do a pick-up from a local Queens spot today . I was intrigued by the menu, you can't help but feel good about healthy when you order from here. I tried a special they are current running $7.00 for 2 Pão de Queijo - Brazilian Cheese Bread - I tried the traditional cheese and the spicy one . (They also have a pesto choice) . They were both tasty, very airy in the inside, but at the same time filling . My next choice was the BaconEggNCheese - made with a mix of tapioca flour and organic eggs filled with crispy bacon, eggs and mozzarella. This also was so incredible and although it would seem like a heavy sandwich, the outside was completely light. But filling nonetheless. The inside of TAP NYC is cozy and refreshing. Small tables to dine in as well and a couch to really have a nice cup of coffee and a cheese bread. Such a nice addition to Queens , especially for the gluten-free community. read more

Was drawn to TAP to try their tapioca sandwich which is a unique option, even in a neighborhood full of Brazilian eateries. They also excel at having a variety of fresh pao de queijo flavors, such as pesto and spicy. Well-worth the visit, even as I discovered the actual tapioca wasn't for me--which is a mark of a good restaurant: where you can try something new (to you), find out it's not your style, and still enjoy the experience. Everything was full of flavor and fresh. The avocado was a bit too puréed for me, which made the texture a bit mushy. But otherwise enjoyable. Service was noticeably thoughtful: the server waited until a particular moment to heat up the pao de queijo, so it would be ready exactly when the sandwich was, and they packaged up the items with care. Service stood out to me here. The ambiance is of a cafe, sometimes busy, sometimes not. It was towards the end of the day, so it needed some sweeping and straightening up, but it overall seemed to be a place that is well-kept. Her, Gabriel, and Flavia were so personable, graceful and kind. Not only is the food excellent, but so is the customer service. During my visit, a young woman harassed and accosted me while trying to take a picture of my dog*. The entire team swooped in to with such empathy, and professionalism to diffuse the situation and protect everyone so flawlessly - it was it never had happened. Especially Michelle - she held down the fort and handled the entire thing with such diplomacy, discernment, and stoicism. Her demeanor and wit left me inspired! The gf pao were SO good - I only wish they were a little cheaper but I do understand gluten-free ingredients are expensive.
