    Matcha brownie

Expensive but creative drinks. These are like lunch prices, but that's NYC for you. I've only tried the seasonal drinks here: - Eusexual: it has a whole assortment of ingredients in it but it's tasty and earthy. I'd get it again if not for the fact that it's $10 - Hojicha hazelnut latte: this has a stronger chocolate note that made this taste good. I generally don't like hojicha lattes (but like it by itself), but the flavors were complimentary. - Red velvet: this had a stronger almond taste than I expected, in the iced version at least. Not my cup of tea. I also tried the matcha brownie and it was more like a healthy brownie. I venture to guess it had ingredients like coconut sugar. Not indulgent at all and not a brownie I would eat again.

Was craving some matcha and was very intrigued by their menu. I enjoy matcha and it was so difficult to choose a drink. I went with the seasonal eusexia X FKA Twiggs drink because it is seasonal and very much piqued my curiosity with its ingredients (4g Hikari Ceremonial Matcha, black and white tahini, amazake, blue spirulina, Madagascar vanilla bean, maple, house made almond milk). I enjoyed it, very earthy and sesame hit your nose first and not very sweet. The store is located inside a store and there is an IV center in the back. It's very clean and aesthetic, saw that they had restrooms too. The seating for MATCHAFUL have a "no laptop" policy. I want to try everything on this menu, will definitely be back to try the frozen matcha next... and the fountain of chai... and houjicha latte.

Note: This review is for takeout only. I wanted to love Matchaful, and while I do believe the quality is ceremonial grade, it's incredibly grassy-tasting (and I drink high quality matcha every day). The nondairy milk is watery, and even with sweetener my two iced matcha lattes were hard to get down. Definitely recommend dairy milk and a full tablespoon of maple syrup to make these bearable. However, from pics online, the space seems cute and they are committed to being a high quality, matcha-first establishment! Delivery service was friendly and quick, too.

The most interesting part about this is the location -- the café shares a storefront with a health/beauty supply store, and in the back liquid IV treatment, and cryotherapy, and an infrared sauna (?!), but it all kind of contributes to an interesting, clean/refined "new-age"-y vibe hahaha. My friend and I both ordered the standard matcha latte. I think they only have non-dairy options for milk, which I suppose was nice because it removed the decision paralysis of if I wanted to pay an extra $0.50 - 1.00 on oat milk lol. The sweetness is also somewhat adjustable (you can choose from a few different sweeteners in different amounts); I got 1/2 tbsp of maple, which I thought was a good level of not-too-sweet-ness. Anyways, I really enjoyed my matcha latte. Sometimes oat milk can leave kind of an oily taste in drinks, but this didn't have that issue at all. The price was actually not bad, especially considering people are out here in NYC paying $10 for mediocre coffees nowadays. The quality of the matcha was fantastic, but the flavour was a little weaker than I would have preferred. I'd definitely come back! They seem to have a handful of other drinks I'd love to try in the future.

I have to admit, it's not my favorite matcha in the world. The best way I can describe its flavor is as more grassy than earthy and it has a bit of a "health-food" feel. This might be as a result of the oat milk they used which wasn't very creamy. However, it did have a strong matcha flavor still which tasted high quality, but was just on the lighter and not as sweet side. So, if health is your jam, this is a great spot for a clean matcha flavor. But if you're looking for a more rich cup, I'd look elsewhere. Still, the atmosphere of the shop was peaceful with a good amount of tables to enjoy your drink at. And the vibes were pristine, mimicking the clean ingredients of the drinks. Also, their menu has a wide variety of unique drink combos and food items that can be fun to try out with friends! The shop also wasn't too busy and the drinks were made pretty quickly, but the service could've been a little more warm. Overall, the dining experience was nice, but there are also probably cafes out there with more aesthetic vibes if that's something you look for. Finally, the price I felt was too high for what you get. More than likely, you're paying for the ingredients which, as I mentioned, seemed very clean. The worker mention to me as well that the vanilla sweetener is fresh made with Madagascar vanilla, so that's also probably part of it. But imo, not the best place for matcha, and also not the worst.

I never knew there were cafés for just matcha; this was my time visiting one. I went here because I heard about the Matchaful collaboration with The Marías, so of course I had to try it out. I got the limited-time drink the 'Coquito Matcha'. Once I got my drink, I sat in the café for about an hour. At first, it was tricky to find the café since it is hidden between a Clean Beauty store. It was empty when I arrived, but got packed as the hour passed. I might visit again if I'm ever in the area, just, maybe next time I'll be sure to have a book or laptop to enjoy the full experience.

coming in, it was a very clean and modern place with plants around. the workers were really sweet and helping recommend the different drinks. i got the oishi berry matcha. it wasn't a sweet drink which i liked and it tasted like it was healthier than the typical chain matcha places. there was kind of a black sesame after taste and the berry was tart. i really liked my drink but i can see how it wouldn't be for everyone. i don't really think it's worth $10 tho but it was nice to try once.

ROUND 2 REDEMPTION so i got a chance to try the new matcha foam (i got almond), let me say, it was actually excellent. since the base was only matcha + water, the matcha flavor came through extremely well and the homemade almond foam was creamy smooth, you could tell it was high quality raw ingredients for it to taste like that. if youre looking for a matcha latte but want it to taste less milky, i think this one is a perfect alternative between an americano / latte with just the right amount of matcha consistency. the matcha creative drink options may be overpowered due to the added ingredients or suitable if youre looking for something different but final verdict: matchaful's original matcha is great. will be a regular from now on every morning before work.

Super clean and aesthetic wellness shop. Came in to get a matcha latte to-go, ordered it online and it was ready in under 5 min! Love the stuff they sell inside the store and they have a couple tables that would be great for a catch up/coffee chat. They specifically have signs that say no laptops allowed though, so not an ideal place to do work. Their menu is expansive and has a variety of creative drinks that I'll definitely want to come back to try soon!

Decided to give this place another go. Tried their vegan matcha and vanilla frozen dessert. It was very good! Very refreshing

Ordered cold foam matcha and rose pedal chia parfait for delivery, impressed by the fast delivery and how natural the food items are. Both the drink and the snack feel fresh and healthy, no added ingredients.

Overall, the lattes are good but very expensive. It's a wellness market, cafe, and spa all in one space. Earth glow - theres a bunch of stuff in it and I'm not sure what the latte tastes like, but while i didn't necessarily taste the matcha, it was tasty and I enjoyed it. Soothing strawberry - I only had a sip but it tasted like strawberry milk. I didn't taste matcha in either drinks I tried, so I can't comment on their matcha quality, though I do wish it was stronger. Both drinks were $9, which is wild, but I would come back to try some other drinks.

This was maybe the best matcha I've had in the city. Also great to order ahead so I could grab it right after my spin class (next door).

I'd actually passed by this place multiple times but had no idea it was a cafe. This shop itself is more of a grab-and-go, but it might still take a while since all drinks are whisked and made to order. There isn't really space for a line to form inside, so you may need to wait outside to order (there's also a bit of a lack of room to wait for your drink once it's ordered). My strawberry matcha came out to $9.25 total, which is pretty pricey, so I expected a lot. In total, it took me around 10-ish minutes to get my drink with about 4 people in front of me. At first it took a while for our orders to get taken since the two employees were focused on getting drinks out ASAP, one person was preparing the syrups and milk, and the other was making the matcha. The matcha itself had a nice green color. I've had many strawberry matchas prior to this, and based on my experience, this place was alright. The strawberry syrup was nice and not too sweet, but I wish there was a bit more flavoring or more of it, as after two sips I couldn't taste the strawberry at all. Overall, it's a nice shop with cute trinkets around and their own products they sell, like matchas and tea sets. However, for $9, it was a lot for what the drink offered in my opinion.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.
