Typically, I love this establishment. The wait is always a little long, but it's never that bad which is why we always allow that to not stop us from coming back. We had our in-laws in town today and decided to come in for dinner. We got here around 650/7p and waited til about 8p to get our food. Our server was excellent, but the wait was too long considering that two tables around us got their food well before we did. One table got there at the same time as we did and they were able to eat their meal, pay, and leave while we still waited for our food. The food itself is good and the place is nice inside. I always expect a longer wait than normal here no matter if it's busy or not, but today was overboard. My boyfriend and I had a great experience here. Our server was great. She explained the beer menu in detail and we shared a flight before deciding on some pours. Overall we liked 3/4 beers that we tried. For dinner I had the chicken tinga tacos. Very flavorful. They were served with a side of chips and salsa. I really only ate the chips because the salsa tasted like ketchup to me. My boyfriend had a burger that he really enjoyed. For his side he chose the roasted potatoes. I was a fan of the lemonade blueberry alcoholic drink! Food was okay. Had pretzels and cheese and chicken nachos. The same cheese was used for both and I would have liked a variation. I'm sure just as with many establishments right now, the restaurant is understaffed. I am totally aware and understand that and try to be overly kind and patient as I know the staff is working hard with less. However any request we made or ordered was met with an annoyed look from our server. I could tell she was exhausted but there was nothing we could do or say to help turn her mood around. I visited here last night for our monthly book club. The brewery is massive inside and out. Been wanting to stop in here for quite some time and check out the brews. We were nearby on a lovely Saturday when I decide it was time. It's a nice looking establishment and kid friendly. Had a couple of very good beers VII Kings and VII Sons. Got the kid a personal pepperoni pizza (he ate it all), the wife had Al American Burger (she found it to be very good), while I had the breaded tenderloin. Have been coming here since it opened and have spent many an evening and business lunch here, as the location is perfect for mtg folks from Hamilton County or off of I465 & I69 on the NE corner of Broad Ripple on Indy's NEside. Holy chicken sandwich, Batman! That thing is massive! You're probably thinking that this guy mistakenly called this tenderloin sandwich a chicken sandwich; well, this guy is not wrong. This is not only one of the biggest chicken sandwiches you'll order, but it's also one of the most juicy and flavorful as well. The breading is light but crispy and superbly seasoned, and the brioche bun is PERFECT for this symphony of freshly fried goodness. This chipotle chicken sandwich is the real winner of the best spicy chicken sandwich debate. Beside the aforementioned sandwich is a pile of chips with a cut similar to plantain chips but with flavor closer to kettle chips. I enjoyed the thickness of the chips; they're thick enough to give a satisfying crunch but not so thick that you feel like you're eating a brick. Also near the sandwich is a transformational concept for a beer and whiskey/bourbon lover like myself: The Gambler. The Gambler is a pairing in which you choose one of four beers, and the bartender chooses your complementary whiskey/bourbon. I'm still wondering what that was; oh well, guess I'll just have to go back to find out! To finish the night off, I partook in a dense, ice cream topped Cafe con Leche bread pudding, and it was worth the next 2 hours of overstuffed stomach pain. I just couldn't help myself. This was my second time going with a big group and lots of kids. Perfect patio for such a group. They do have outdoor games that the kids love to play and get their energy out. On a Sunday evening we were able to get seated without having to wait long. Our server was great and never once did we feel rushed with having to order. I did have a dark stout that was vanilla and coffee and it was delicious, too bad I can't recall the name. My Swiss and mushroom burger was a double patty, which I didn't realize but it was pretty juicy and flavorful. The fries however were a little too oily but the crispy ones were ok. The kids meals are fairly priced and they give a lot. My niece was a fan of the Mac n cheese and my nephews enjoyed their pizzas. They offer a variety of options for all which is great. read more

Me and hubby went here for date night and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server Erin was absolutely delightful. I appreciated that she knew all about the different beers where they came from what they taste like. The flights come in 4 glasses of 4 oz. I let her know what kind of beer I like and don't like and she made 4 very good suggestions for me. We decided on the quesadilla appetizer and let me tell you it was loaded. Quesadilla usually comes with the tortilla and a lot of cheese and a little sprinkling of vegetables or meat but wow this thing was loaded like I knew I wasn't going to be able to get through dinner after splitting this quesadilla. I got the pineapple salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The salmon was cooked perfectly. It had a very nice sweet taste but not overly sweet. The broccoli was firm so NOT soggy and overcooked and I could have used a little bit more seasoning on it but it was just fine and the mashed potatoes were nice and creamy looks like they were made with red potatoes. My husband got a hoot mess burger with sweet potato fries. I thought it was going to be really really hot when I saw all the hot sauce but it was just right. Had just a little bit of kick to it not too much and went perfectly with the sweet potato fries. We opted to take some dinner home in our to-go containers and go ahead and have dessert there, so we got a Brookie with ice cream. Chocolate brownie with a cookie smothered in chocolate syrup ice cream cherries on top. Very yummy. We love the atmosphere and the ambiance of the place there's plenty of outdoor seating inside and a sandbox type area for the kids to play in and run around. There are plenty of big screen tvs all around playing various sports. The music selection being pumped through speakers was a good mix, a little loud but no more than another sports bar type place. Just letting you know in case that kind of thing bothers you. But you can go out on the huge patio area if you prefer. The only reason we did not is because it was a little muggy for us that night, but it was a nice temperature inside. Some places like that have it freezing inside. So yep they nailed it! I used to live right by this bar. I've been a few times and just never reviewed it. It's such a fun place to catch a game and if it's nice weather their patio seats (at night) are my absolute favorite. The lights, fire pits and games are so much fun. This visit we had a waitress named Lisa who literally needs to train all waitresses and waiters everywhere. She was so attentive, bubbly and had a fun sense of humor. She made our experience at Blind Owl so much fun! We sat in the bar area and it seemed as if that entire area belonged to her. She never seemed frustrated, flustered or tired. I was honestly amazed. Let's get to the food. I was feeling like a child. I opted for their chicken tenders and fries. I love their ranch dressing. It's one of my favorites. It taste very fresh and fries are seasoned & crispy. The chicken tenders are a nice size. Usually I'm never able to finish my food but today was another story . This place never disappoints! Their hot pretzels are to die for. And a chicken tenders toss in buffalo sauce have always been a favorite of mine, especially with a side of tater tots. Portions are huge so expect to take some home. A few months ago I had gastric bypass surgery so I won't be getting the pretzels and chicken tenders anytime soon, but they're still a lot of great options available. This last visit, I got the ham and green bean soup with a side of roasted carrots. Both were delish! I also had the pizza toppings off my husband's The Brewer (minus the banana peppers). The taste can be summed up by one word... Yum!--even without the pizza crust. Looking forward to warmer weather when we can sit back out in there ample deck. I was craving fries after a hike at Fort Harrison Park so we decided to stop by Blind Owl. I was impressed by the beer menu which was quite extensive. I got the Parliament Drive which was a very light Pilsner. I couldn't resist myself and had to try the soup of day so I got the chicken soup. It tasted very very good and I enjoyed it even on a warm afternoon .. We obviously got the fries and tried the chicken tenders. Both were standard and not disappointing at all. Blind Owl is located at the corner of 62nd and Binford in the Binford Plaza on the south end. This brewpub is still one of our favorite restaurants and my husband enjoys many of the 26 beers on tap (some rotating) plus the full bar. As you enter, the hostess stand is directly in front of you and the family side dining area is to the right with the FCFS bar area to the left. The seasonal patio, weather permitting, must be seated by the hostess. Large umbrellas protect you from the sun at most tables. Play bocce ball, cornhold or try your hand with the giant jenga game. The menu is diverse with something for most, IMHO. The two jumbo pretzels are warm and soft served with a beer cheese dip and the Quesadillas are extremely popular. The Chipotle Wings are terrific and the Elote Soup (corn chowder) is my favorite soup. Tenderloins, Peppered BLT and the Smashburger are a few of the sandwiches my husband enjoys. The Pot Roast is tender and a generous portion with carrots potatoes, celery and onions. Their Chicken Pot Pie has a flaky puff pastry top and nice selection of veggies with a good flavor but needs a little more cornstarch for a thicker sauce. Several Artisan Pizzas are offered which looked good but I've never ordered. The couple sitting next to us recommended the flaky Salmon and the Fish and Chips. The servers are great, personable and even with a crowd drinks arrive quickly. Our meals were prompt and brought from the kitchen by a runner as soon as they were ready. Used dishware is removed timely and it's an atmosphere filled with laughter and fun. Give them a try sometime. read more

I am a big fan of brewery restaurants. I would rate this one in the middle of the pack as far as ones I have been to. Middle because the beers sampled were very good, but the food was average. We were also a little aggravated because we asked to sit outside, which was not crowed at all with lots of tables available in the shade, and they sat us right smack dab in a totally sunny spot. They said that was the next table in line, which I am sure had to do with server areas and rotation. But still, can't stations be adjusted for patron comfort, especially when 5 or 6 tables remained totally shaded the entire meal while we all got sunburns at lunch. One reason for sunburn was how slow the service was, despite plenty of servers walking around. No excuse for it. As for the food, the blackened salmon tacos were black because they were overdone. My wife's friend avocado tacos were better, but not great. So, after the visit all I can recommend is ask to sit inside because outside was not pleasant, or they did not care enough to make it pleasant, and the beer is good. So perhaps stop by for a drink or two and eat elsewhere. read more

I ended up going there on Sunday Nov 21st, 2021 to watch the Indianapolis Colts game against New York Buffalo Bills. The restaurant is located in the Binford Blvd area. The restaurant wasn't crowded, there are no stairs to enter the restaurant, and I sat at the bar. Blind Owl Brewery is known for it's beer, and you can purchase the beer growler to take home. For, my lunch I had the honey Wasabi wings(10), fries no salt and a coke to drink. It was a great game, wings good, and with good company. Blind Owl Brewery has plenty of TVs to watch NFL, NBA, and even college sports. So, whenever you're wanting to watch the next Colts game, or probably a college game go to Blind Owl Brewery. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon, around 2p, after the lunch rush. It was a lovely day so we wanted to sit outside, but were told, "There are no seats that are not in the sun." Understood, but there was an open table just outside the kitchen door (the table people usually try to avoid) that had obviously been occupied recently, so it wasn't a "covid spacer table". I asked the hostess if we could wait for that table to be cleaned and she said "Sure. If you are ok with the kitchen." Out of nowhere, came a woman you yelled, "I TOLD YOU no more seats outside! Don't you listen?" I can only assume this woman was her supervisor. The confrontation was right in front of us and SO unprofessional it was disturbing. I said, "We don't have to sit there if that is a problem" but our hostess apologetically said, "It's ok. I'll clean the table." The lunch went well, other than the "angry employee" kept hovering around our table. She never said anything to us, let alone an apology. The food and the drinks were good and I would like to return to the brewery but that level of uncontrolled angry is stopping me. If this type of yelling is standard issue during non-rush hours, I sure don't want to be there when this chick is stressed. read more

I had called ahead to put my name on the waitlist so luckily we didn't have to wait too long. Their patio is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for the summer nights ahead.
