Usually the food is good but today I ordered a philly cheesesteak that was overcooked and looked like it was somebodies old sandwich. It did not taste like it normally does. The cheese was hard and so was the bun. The waitress did not come back for a long time. I took the bun apart and had all of the hard meat sitting on the bun. The waitress looked at it and never asked how everything was or even better was there something wrong with the sandwich. My daughter ordered a chicken strip basket and they brought the plate instead. Therefore I was charged additional. Again the waitress never came back to tell her that we received the wrong item. Very disappointed....$40 down the drain. read more

When I first moved to Athens this place quickly became a favorite. I'm probably went there 6-8 times in my first 6 months. Sadly each time I went the experience became less and less enjoyable. My standby quickly became the BLFGT with Tater Tots with the Fries seasoning (recommend by the first waitress we ever had). This sandwich was excellent the first couple of times I had it. Although I think their piggy sauce is way too mustardy - way too much for a BLT type of sandwich that traditionally comes with mayo. They need more of a southwestern ranch or a zaxby's type sauce IMO. Toward the end of my patronage, the bread would be so hard it would scrape the roof of my mouth. I'd have to pick off the hard parts of the bread to eat it. The last 3 times I went there, the tater tots were soggy. One time I made the mistake of asking if they could fix them. Sadly, instead of making new ones, they refried the ones they brought me in the first place. Not only did it take 10+ minutes to do that, they were brought back out to me in a greasy mess and the rest of my party was already finished eating. It's bar food at best... nothing gourmet or super special, but it's always good to have a comfort food standby when you just want something fried (and want to watch a game or three). Th food was overall pretty good The service was decent. I wasn't crazy about the coleslaw. The quest was good, but the chips were stale. The Brunswick Stew was amazing!! The pulled pork was pretty good as well. I would probably visit here again. read more

I stopped to eat at the Blind Pig Tavern on Friday, August 6th. The place is really cute, the food was really good and the drinks were great also, When it came time to check out, we wanted to split our check up into 4 which we told we could do. The waitress took all of our cards and returned back about 10 minutes later to tell us that what she had previously quoted us for a price per person was wrong and was not $10.00 more than it was suppose to be and that the system they had was making it difficult to do it. I went with her to the register afterwards and she finally was able to figure it out. The worse part about this experience was a few hours later when I made it to my destination, I got an alert on my credit card that someone was trying to charge $450 to a sporting store in Canada and then $600 at camera store also in Canada. The Blind Pig was my only stop before I reached my destination, so yes I believe my card was compromised at the Blind Pig during all of the confusion. To much of a coincidence that we are only a few hours away from Canada and this happens. My card has never been compromised so yes I believe something happened at the Blind Pig. Be very careful when handing your credit card to someone you don't know. So for this reason I will be giving a bad review. read more

Not family friendly for the following reasons: 1)gallon bottle of bleach on men's bathroom counter (think, small child & investigative mind...toxic & should be secured); 2)profanity on the menu. Terrible service & their 12 Rules (on the menu) make the experience about the employee, not about the guest. Also, wait staff hung out at bar almost entire time while I waited for refill and bill. Food was just ok - it was overpriced for the quantity and quality. Not a bad taste, just not a great value. We won't return and won't recommend to others. read more

Mmmmm yum yum yum. I can't seem to find a decent burger place in Athens (that ISN'T five guys) and I think I've found a winner! The burger is big and juicy and hefty portions of fries. Fries aren't anything extraordinary but I liked it nonetheless. But the burger...oh hellllo meat lovers paradise. Seriously, this chunk of meat is mouthwatering and just plain sinful. The cheese that layered on this patty oozed with grease. I wish they toasted the bun. That should be a burger law. ALWAYS TOAST THE BUN! My burger was about $7.50, a little more than I would've liked (especially since I'm a huge fan of Fuddrucker's and they only charge me like $5). But still, in Athens I'll probably be going back to the tavern for another juicy burger. Or three. read more

First place myself and my family ate at, after arriving in Athens for a recent trip. I really liked the burger I got(pimento cheeseburger of some sort, forget the exact name it was on their menu), and the seasoning on the fries was nice. Beer selection was also not bad, and I noticed they do serve beers from local brewery Terrapin. If you come during Happy Hour(forget the exact hours it is, it's something like 3-5 or 3-6 IIRC), I believe all beers are $1 off. Their patio looked decent, as well. And you even can smoke out there, as well! I'd definitely return here(or to the other location closer to UGA's campus), if I come back to Athens. read more

Stumbled onto this awesome little place just by passing while in town for business. Wanted something that was a local restaurant, and they definitely delivered. The bar was about half full as well as the restaurant a little after noon. I'm sure that is not the case during football season! My lunch date ordered the bbq plate and was happy with everything on it- especially the Brunswick Stew. I ordered the Greek salad with grilled chicken and was very pleased! All of the veggies were chilled and fresh, just the right amount of feta cheese, and served with some type of homemade feta dressing on the side. One of those days I had to have a burger. Not many choices as most places were closed for Memorial Day. Ended up at Blind Pig. Fried mushrooms were divine and the ranch is homemade. So good. The burger on the other hand was just ok. They didn't ask how I wanted it cooked....and it came out well done and dry. They also brought husband the wrong beer he asked for. Ight so boom. Thursday's they do 79 cent wings all day. Right off the bat, I was upset learning that EACH wing is 79 cents NOT the whole order but I will appoint that misunderstanding completely on myself because you shouldn't eat anywhere that sells chicken for 79 cents. That's neither here or there, me and my boys stopped here for the first time and imma keep it a buck, the wings were great. They weren't plastic nor were they uncomfortably too big. We enjoyed our meals so much we decided we do it every Thursday. So why 4 stars? I don't know if it was a prank or something chemically wrong with me and he wing sauce but 45 minutes after consuming said wings I was on my toilet sweating bullets and praying to god that the child I was delivering through my ass (pause) would be okay along with myself. I never in my life feared for my life the way I did that night. I know for a god given fact the wings were the cause of the terroristic attack on my Bowels. At one point I was in so much pain and fear I seriously thought I wouldn't make it. All in all though, I've been back and we do go on Thursdays still just be ready for wing gang wars in your stomach. Blind Pig has become one of Athens best diner, bar, and neighborhood mainstay since 1995. It started on Baldwin St. across from the Old Mill c plex and River Mill apartments. The free parking, big screen TV, 15 different chicken wings flavors, and $3.50 PBR pitchers quickly made it a favorite for bikers, librarians, lawyers, USDA employees, UGA students, and working singles. The Burgers are the best hand patted 8 oz. served up with numerous versions as The Yianni, The Fat Merv, The Elvis, Fat Matt, and so forth. The Quesadillas are also some of the best in Georgia. We have frequented the Blind Pig for years. Always been our go restaurant. Everything on the menu was great. WHAT HAPPENED??? We were there on 8/20/17. They were not busy, middle of the afternoon. We ordered the chicken philly wrap. It used to come with bite size pieces of chicken but yesterday it was shredded. It had no taste. We also ordered a mushroom Swiss burger. The burger was so tough you had to saw it with the knife. It was not a hand made burger. I don't think we will be back. read more

Great food! Had the BBQ plate which was excellent. Nice selection of local beers. Staff was attentive, outdoor seating available as well.

I thought the food was great. Our waitress did a great job. Checked on our table several times and was quick with refills. And I felt they were pretty busy as well. Also- we had a large party and still we were served quickly. read more

Shame, I've been here a dozen times at least. I do not visit the Colg Stn loc due to a microwaved burger - no excuse for that This location has always been good to me until about 2 weeks ago I had an encounter w/a waitress who may have been fairly new to the job. My Big Mutha - the usual order for me - was well done - not mid rare - and had white am chz - not jap jack as I asked for . She actually told me - "No - they said they put it on there and they did" I asked her to simply look at it. She came back w/2 pieces of chz on a plate. 1 wht am chz and 1 jap chz - the jap chez is obvious due to the little pieces of jap pepper in it. I said "Well look at this: My burgers chez has no jap pepper in it" She said "Well, I don't know" and started to simply walk away. I asked her to bring these issues to a mngrs attn and NO- I DO NOT want anything for free. I simply want the mngr to be aware of what is happening here. I believe she never said anything due to the way she shied away from the subject upon us leaving. I paid my bill of course - never saw the manager. I am going to make a special visit during the daytime right after lunch service and request the managers undivided attention for a couple of minutes. We have ordered from here twice and both times it has been very good! The chicken is good and juicy and perfect! The fries were amazing as well that cheese sauce with the jalapeños and tomatoes are good just adds flavor to the fries instead of just having bland boring fries with nothing. The bbq sauce is on point as well. Me personally I like my bbq sauce a little spicy but not too spicy. Will be ordering from here again in the future. Atmosphere is nice. However they had the women's Connecticut-Maryland basketball game on during NFL Sunday. I'm not sure if someone asked to watch this or if it was just a glaring oversight by management. The food was good. We had burgers and fries. The food arrived promptly. I do have a big issue with our service. The waitress who took our order did not write it down and you'll never guess what happened. That's correct, she messed up our order. Why would any server in their right mind not take the time to write down the order to help make sure they get it correct? After removing items off my burger and exchanging incorrect side items I was able to eat. Once we finished we were held hostage by our server waiting on our check. I'm a fan of their Yanni burger which has a delicious topping of banana peppers and feta sauce; however, today I decided to try the Hot Fingers Plate. It is advertised as six chicken fingers dipped in your choice of sauce and served with one side and two dipping sauces for $11.50. It was three dollars more than the Hot Fingers Basket served with four chicken fingers and a half order of fries and one dipping sauce. To my surprise, when the plate arrived, it was rather skimpy with a poor excuse for what is supposed to be chicken tenders. Two of the "fingers' were literally 3" long. I ordered the tater tots for the side. They were overcooked. I was quite disappointed with the meal. With a $2.50 soft drink, my bill came to $15.12 before tip. I won't be ordering this item again. Had not eaten here for several months until recently. Ordered my favorite turkey burger with Yanni sauce. Burger was overcooked burnt in places. Fries were cold. Only bright spot was server who gave me my order when I went in wearing a mask to pick up my order. Stopped by on a quick notice in Wednesday night and glad we did! We sat on the high top tables, we were going to sit outside, but saw people smoking , glad we didn't. Service was really good, I ordered the chicken strips, hot with fries and blue cheese dressing it was very good. Wife ordered Philly cheesesteak she like here's as well. It was also trivia night, we never played before, was this fun. The host was outstanding and many of the customers were playing which made it fun , to top it off we won a free pitcher of beer!
