Perfect Spot for a Fall Day [Apple Hill|Camino CA]…read more The number of orchards in Apple Hill can be overwhelming that's why each year my eldest daughter always has a game plan to visit farms we haven't tried yet (and some repeat visits to our favorites) This was my first time at the Apple Ridge Farms. We spent most of our time here. There was a lot to do including an actual u-pick Apple orchard. Apple Ridge Farms is dog friendly. BBQ and Bakery with a full menu including sandwiches, salads and sides. They had a special on apple pies this weekend... $20 for a whole pie. Picnic Area - got our lunch and enjoyed it in the covered picnic area. Love their fries! Apple Barn - frozen pies, pastries, apple cider, fresh apples, Christmas boutique Country Store - filled with jams, jellies, fudge, chocolates, and great gift ideas Nature trail - visitors are able to choose between an easy trail and a not-so-easy trail. We chose the easy trail but I think they are both easy. Flower trail - unfortunately our visit was in early November and we missed when the flowers were in bloom. September would be the best time to visit and check out the colorful zinnias. Free to access. Gem mining - daughter has enjoyed this activity in other places since she was little. She's 23 now and still has fun with this experience. There is a fee for this activity. Pop ups Artisan Crafters - arts & crafts including wood works, handmade jewelry, handcrafted soaps and candles, paintings, dried nuts and fruits. Unique finds! Face painting - we did not do this activity due to time constraints but daughter had wanted one of Patrick Starr (SpongeBob Square Pants)... next time! Portable toilets are on-site. The drinks are consistently delicious, and the whole place has that relaxed, local charm that makes you want to linger a bit longer. A welcome break from the usual chain spots. Some days the staff is welcoming, attentive, and genuinely pleasant, while on other days the level of service seems to depend entirely on the mood of the barista. The quality of a coffee can bring customers in, but consistency in kindness and professionalism is what keeps them coming back. A smile, respect, and a positive attitude are just as important as the drink being served. It seems that since tipping became something requested before the service is even provided, a bit of the humility and gratitude that once defined great customer service has been lost. Not everywhere, of course, but too often the smile, attentiveness, and genuine care that used to earn a tip have been replaced by the expectation of receiving one. The best tips are still earned the old-fashioned way: through kindness, respect, and exceptional service.
