A pricey little box, but for this quality, it's to be expected. I sampled Vietnamese coffee and raspberry yuzu. I much preferred the tartness of the raspberry yuzu. The Vietnamese coffee was more on the dense and darker side which I wasn't really feeling. I ended up getting a custom 6-piece box: raspberry yuzu (x2), rose water saffron (x2), and sesame praline (x2). The raspberry yuzu was extra yummy with the chocolate this time. The bitterness and tartness went well together. The sesame praline was interesting. The filling had a more crispy and gritty texture as a result from what appears to be sugar crystals. The sesame was nicely incorporated so that it wasn't overpowering. I really liked it. The rose water saffron was interesting. It definitely had floral and earthy notes. This is among their most popular flavors, but it just wasn't for me unfortunately. It slightly crossed the floral soap threshold for my taste buds. No matter, I know I will be back for the raspberry yuzu and sesame praline someday, and I hope to try other unique flavors they have as well.

I explicitly ordered one dozen chocolate cupcakes for my daughter's 5th birthday celebration at her school. I confirmed this in our text exchange to ensure every child received the exact same thing. Despite this, the baker took it upon herself to provide a mix of vanilla and chocolate. When I pointed out that this wasn't what I ordered, she was dismissive, telling me that "in her experience" some kids aren't fond of sweets--completely ignoring my specific instructions. If she felt an assortment was better, she should have suggested it during the ordering process so I could make the final decision. Instead, she took it upon herself to change my order without my consent. As I explained to her, it was a requirement for the classroom that every child receive the same flavor. Providing an assortment creates a situation where some kids get the flavor they want while others are stuck with the "leftover" flavor, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. Because I couldn't guarantee that every child would get the same option, I couldn't use these for the school as intended. To make matters worse, there was no offer to redo the order or provide a partial refund for the error. Luckily, I was able to find a different baker last minute who made exactly what I asked for--and for $10 less than I paid here. She truly saved the day! Because we were hosting a large event, I placed two "dessert table" orders and opted to pay extra for delivery, as I wasn't certain I'd be able to pick them up in time. I also paid a deposit to rent their dessert stands. I provided them with a photo of our party theme, and they executed it flawlessly--each dessert was perfectly aligned with the theme. A few days before the event, they followed up to confirm the delivery details. Although I requested delivery for 2:00 PM, the desserts arrived shortly after 3:00 PM. This slight delay wasn't an issue, as I simply stored everything in the refrigerator until closer to cake-cutting time later that evening when the temperature had cooled. The desserts were absolutely stunning--almost too beautiful to eat--and received endless compliments from guests. The picture does not do it justice. I returned the dessert stands the following day and was promptly refunded my deposit. Overall, the experience was excellent, and I will definitely be ordering from Sweet Treats again in the future.

However, it was really difficult to communicate with her as she doesn't always respond to emails in a timely matter. At times, I would have to double email her just to receive a response. During our ordering process via email, my dog had to have an emergency surgery and I missed the 48 hour period to pay and confirm my order. I explained the situation to her and she wasn't exactly the most understanding and told me she could only complete half of my order. Also, she holds a $25 fee, which can be refunded if you return the tower after usage but getting the fee back can take weeks. I returned my tower 2 weeks ago and emailed her upon doing so and am still waiting for my refund. The macaron tower I ordered was cute but given how stressful the ordering process was, I'm not sure I'd return or recommend her to friends.

We were headed out for an early dinner next door, and Deux Cranes was still open. Yes!! It's a very small chocolate boutique store. Everything is made in-house in small batches. They have very unique flavors and offerings. We were warmly greeted by the shop employee. She was very sweet and helpful. We were looking for something with dark chocolate. She showed us a few unique dark chocolate bars paired with unique flavors. One bar had miso-coated almonds in it, and the other had Earl Grey with Seri-Uchi lemon. We decided to get one of each. There were also two different flavors of fruit jellies. The raspberry one looked good. I'll have to go back and get that next time. The young lady helping us mentioned they have different flavors of the jellies every week. I love that. They also had beautiful boxes of chelates that were so beautifully decorated and had different fillings and flavors in them. These chocolates would make a nice and unique gift for any chocolate lover. Even though the inside of the store was small, they had a nice variety of chocolates, cookies, and jellies nicely displayed. I will definitely be back for the raspberry jellies. We tried both varieties that we purchased. We loved both of them. The miso almond dark chocolate bar has a savory and sweet flavor. It was delicious. The Earl Grey with Seri-Uchi lemon dark chocolate bar was slightly sweeter than the other one with a subtle citrus flavor. I would definitely buy these flavors again. They were both excellent.

I'd read on Yelp they have amazing chocolate so I knew I was in for a treat. The shop is small but elegant, with clean, minimalist displays. Their offerings include chocolate bars, bon bons, rocher, caramels, cookies, and more. I asked if they have my favorite, dark chocolate covered almonds, and was handed a large bar beautifully packaged in a dark green box. The box said the almonds were roasted with white miso, making it savory and umami-filled. I said I'd take it. I also purchased a small bag of dark chocolate crispy marshmallow rocher. The chocolate was, of course, delicious. I can't quite explain the taste of the almond bar, but it is the type of chocolate you eat a small piece of at a time in order to savor the flavor. (This is in contrast to my usual method of quickly gobbling it up). The rocher is a little bitter, but scrumptious with crispy puffed rice. Deux Cranes chocolates and confections would make the perfect gift or served as dessert after a special meal. I'm looking forward to patronizing the shop again in the future.

I decided to place my order with Nisha through Instagram. The ordering process was super simple and Nisha was very responsive. She answered all of my questions and was able to design this beautiful box of hot cocoa bombs for me. Not only did the hot cocoa bombs look beautiful, they tasted delicious as well! My favorite was the milk chocolate one. This was probably the best hot cocoa I've ever had. It was so thick, rich, and creamy. It was perfect on a cold day. The other flavors were strawberry and a mix of strawberry and milk chocolate which were also both really good.
