I've been to a couple Blk Dot locations, but I'm going to review this one because it was the last one I went to. I ordered an iced VTM, because I didn't know about the existence of the iced LVTM which is apparently a lighter version of the regular VTM. There's nothing wrong with the regular VTM if you like a strong coffee, but I'm personally a person that likes sugary milk with coffee flavoring, so that was my bad. I learned for next time. It tasted fine, I just had to add some extra milk because I'm a baby. I actually usually get the BLK Tiger, which is delicious, but I needed caffeine that day. I've also had their avocado toast which is good. I question myself when I pay $+10 for an avocado toast, but if you're gonna do it anyway, I'm just saying you won't be mad about this one. read more

What a gem! Came here to study on a Tuesday afternoon and I love the vibes here! I ordered an iced Thai tea with less ice and it tasted delicious. Parking is very easy and each table has an outlet near it and great wifi. I was able to study here and get lots of work done. Now, the reason it has 4 instead of 5 stars is that I wasn't informed that they charge an extra 60 cents for less ice until I had already paid and sat down and looked at the menu more carefully. I think I would've liked it better if the cashier had confirmed with me beforehand that it would be extra. I think if you were to. One tip is that it may be hard to find a spot if you come during peak times or during finals/midterm season. Also: it's FREEZING in here so definitely be sure to bring a jacket. read more

But that's not a surprise since the area is becoming less friendly to those who need a gluten sensitivity option. Ambiance is good. Service is pretty good. **REVIEW BASED ON PRE COVID EXPERIENCE** If you're looking for a nice place to catch up with your friend while getting your coffee fix then BLKdot Coffee is the place to be. It's pretty easy to locate, Google Maps takes you right to the location. Even though there is ample amount of parking available due to private parking lots, I usually tend to park behind the Pieology/BLKdot coffee parking lot (less crowded) and end up walking a little more. It has indoor as well as outdoor patio style seating options available. Few times that I have been there, they have always been super busy and have ended up waiting in the line to even be acknowledged by the barista. My usual order is iced vietnamese coffee - super good even without any sweetener. For $5.00 though, the amount of coffee you get is not a good price to proportion ratio, easy ice it up to get more! I'm never coming here again. I ordered a milk tea no ice since I had to run errands before giving it to my wife and didn't want the drink to be diluted. The cashier says that management doesn't allow them to skip the ice. I've never ever heard of a shop preventing you from skipping the ice. We sometimes buy milk tea to consume at a later time, sometimes the next day. The guy goes okay I'll skip the ice but it won't be filled to the top. I'm like okay fine. I get my cup and it arrives much much lower than I would have thought. I expect more from a place that charges premium prices for their drinks. So I decided to try this place for breakfast after ordering delivery of the coffee couple of times. First they definitely need more employees during the rush time. I had to wait 10 minutes to place my order and twenty waiting for their infamous Avocado Toast withe eggs. There were three people working but the place needed at least two more. The avocado toast looked amazing but the eggs smelled so I eggie I just could not eat it. So I tried adding extra pepper and cut a piece to try but sadly could not . For the longest time I have heard good things about Blk Dot Coffee, but one finally opened close to be so I could try it. The location is in an ideal corner location, perfect for grabbing a cup of coffee and strolling around the circle. The store itself is a bit small and can feel cramp very quickly, but it is expected. Overall I thought the VTM coffee was really good and the only reason why I am giving this place a 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because of the wait time. Each time I have come here, both when there is a line and when it appears a bit slow, the wait has been longer than expected. Though I understand they usually only have 2 or 3 people working and appear to be short handed, it is the only thing holding this place back from 5 stars, but i still recommend you at least come and try it out! read more

Worst customer service. I placed an order and my name was spelled wrong. That was fine. Then waited for my order. Drink came out first. Then I was waiting and waiting for the Avo toast. At some point another person's order was called - and I saw a box was left there. I came close and saw My (misspelled) name on it. That's when I knew it was for me. I was not called when the toast was ready. I said to the guy working there "thanks for letting me know when this was ready" obviously as I was unhappy with the fact that he didn't. I came here on the morning of Thanksgiving since they were one of the few in the area that was open with modified hours. I ordered an oat milk latte and it was just OK for nearly $6.00 (they charge $1.00 for alternative milk). The temperature of the milk was too hot - I burnt my tongue and had to let it cool down. My favorite coffee shop for the past year. I'd come here to study for my cpa exams basically 3x a week once I discovered this place. My go to used to be 7 leaves in Tustin, but this place has such a great vibe and good drinks, I'd just stay here all day. The drinks are on the expensive side compared to other drink and boba places, but I think it's worth it. My favorites include: -Matcha latte: 4.5/5 matcha flavors are definitely there, and price is somewhat reasonable. For me, the size is perfect, but for some other people, it may be be quite small. -LVTM: 5/5 I choose this over their regular VTM because when I had the regular, I was wired all day, all night, and still felt the effects the next day. The LVTM is perfect for those who need a pick me up. Also a side note, if you ask for less ice, they won't give you more drink. Their drinks are preset for the amount of liquid they pour so it's consistent all around. -Lychee Peach Tea: 5/5 oh my gosh this has become my go to drink here. Sometimes the LVTM is a bit too much for me, and this drink really sparks joy in my life (lol yeah I'm dramatic about it). The drink has lychee jelly and chia seeds in there which surprisingly is a nice combo of texture and taste. Straw in and I'm sippin away. Overall, a really great place not just to study, but also to catch up with friends or to bring a book and relax. It does get crowded in the weekday afternoons and on the weekends, but normally you can find a seat somewhere. I usually go to the location on Jamboree near the Google building but they are not open on the weekends. I always get the large iced Vietnamese coffee. Today I decided to drive to the Marketplace location since they were opened on Saturday. Because it was a cold morning, I ordered a small hot Vietnamese coffee and a large iced Vietnamese coffee, but without the ice. I planned on adding my own ice the next day. The gal who took my order told me specifically the cup would not be filled to the top since I didn't want ice and she showed me how full the cup would be. I said, no problem. I wasn't trying to get more coffee without the ice, I just didn't want the ice to water down the coffee since it would be another day before I drank it. I also ordered advacdo toast and gave a cash tip, all together I paid $28. When I was given the large no-iced coffee, the amount of coffee was way less than I was lead to believe. I commented to the gal who made the drink, she just gave me tons of excuses and then ignored me. Next I recieved the small hot coffee when I realized the small coffee had way more volume than the large coffee. I mentioned the differences, but the gal wanted to argue. The product was the same (Vietnamese coffee), one hot and the other chilled, one was large and the other was small. Why did the smaller coffee have 1/3rd more liquid than the large? I don't need to scam a coffee shop for coffee, I can afford Blackdot coffee. Would it had been so dreadful to pour 1 more ounce into the cup, maybe consider the customer service aspect into the situation? This is the reason for this review, poor service. As a non-coffee drinker, I really have to hunt to find coffee spots to accommodate my boyfriend that also have decent teas. I'd say BLKdot satisfies that so me and my bf both leave happy. The mango tea was pretty darn delicious and I love the jellies that are in it. It tastes fresh, not bitter, but still maintains a good amount of the tea flavor. I do wish I could adjust the sweetness to slightly less sweet (but come to think of it didn't ask so that's probably my bad). Great service and got our caffeine fix quick.
