This past week I finally had the opportunity to visit their Irvine Spectrum location and I'm now crossing my fingers that they plan to expand to Huntington Beach. My order consisted of their Iced Uji Matcha Latte with oat milk. This beverage was served with the right amount of sweetness and came out perfectly creamy. Unfortunately I didn't get to sample their food menu, but I'm looking forward to returning to try the Mexi-Avocado Toast. I found this hidden gem while I was looking for coffee after mass. It took a while to find parking, but I was able to use the parking deck. There were a lot of customers and not enough staff. I felt bad because they were so slammed! Alex at the cash was so sweet and took my order for my Spanish latte. You could tell that this team knew their customers because Alex would ask people how they are doing and really connect with them. The Spanish latte was excellent! Probably one of the best I have ever had. I will make sure to come back here to try the food. I would recommend not coming between 7:45-8:30am because there were a lot of people there from Google and Equinox. read more

The Vietnamese coffee at BLKdot coffee is super solid. Highly recommend finishing the coffee within 2 days versus one sitting. Yes. it is strong ladies and gentlemen. Vietnamese coffee is no joke. This make starbucks look like child's play. My sister had been wanting to take me to BLKdot Coffee for a while and we finally had a chance to stop by and hang out during my latest visit. This BLKdot location is tucked away near Google offices and an Equinox gym, and offers chill and well lit comfort for those seeking it. Note that here, parking validation for the garage is available with purchase. For it being my first time here, I had some questions about the different between the LVMT (light Vietnamese coffee) and the regular. It was explained to me that it is simply the same drink, but with less caffeine. Seeing as how I was really tired, I ordered a large regular VMT with light ice. My sister ordered a large iced BLK mojito. For a brunch bite, we ordered a breakfast banh mi to share. We took the window bar seats and people watched and chatted while waiting for our drinks, which were called out to us to grab at the counter when they were ready. Our food was being prepared fresh, and was ready about 5 minutes later. Everything was SO GOOD. My eyes immediately widened after my first sip of my VMT (unclear if it was because of the caffeine hit, but the amazing taste definitely had something to do with it). I tried my sister's BLK mojito too, and loved how refreshingly minty and creamy it was. Suffice to say, the drinks were a huge hit. The breakfast banh mi was also delicious. I liked the unique twist of breakfast sausage and egg with traditional banh mi components like the pickled radish, carrots, and cilantro, all enclosed in a delicious baguette. Portion-wise, splitting the banh mi was enough to fill both of us up for our morning meal. We hung out for a while longer while enjoying our food and drinks. We brought the remainder of our drinks out with us, and it kept us super wired all day (now I know why they offer the light version of the VMT). This was the very first coffee shop I went to when I went to SoCal and immediately I was so blown away! The interior is very beautiful and the staff here is super calm and collected. I ordered the VTM Tiger and the Breakfast Bánh Mì Sammie. The VTM Tiger was a great booster and the added coffee jelly and brown sugar drizzle were perfect additions! Stronger Vietnamese coffee can definitely found in other places but I'm still delighted with my purchase. The Breakfast Bánh Mì Sammie is what could be interpreted as a cultural blend but still a little far from its original roots. Sammie was delicious and I loved its spice factor as well! Despite its small size, it kept me full for a really long time and was super tasty with all the different textures (egg, cilantro, ground meat, etc). One of my favorite quick and easy coffee spots in town. I usually get the LVTM at half sweetness. Gives the bold Vietnamese coffee flavors you want with just a touch of sweetness. It's fantastic for my commutes. This location is tucked away in the Google area and the parking situation isn't the most straight forward but the coffee shop itself is modern and clean. VTM Coffee: Vietnamese styled coffee. Tasted pretty close to the one I had in Vietnam except for the fact that it was SO SWEET. If you want diabetes order this drink because the glucose will literally block your arteries or whatever biological shit it does. It was so overwhelmingly sweet that after a sip I was like hell naur. Aside from the sweetness of it, the taste and the coffee was actually really pleasant. So if you wanna order this drink I recommend adding an extra shot or asking for less sweet. 4/10 (because too sweet), 6.5/10 (if not this sweet) - I tried their other drinks before. VTM Coffee 5/5: Slow dripped coffee, condense milk, house creamer VTM Tiger Coffee 4/5: Vietnamese coffee, Brown Sugar Syrup, Black Jelly The VTM Coffee was super delicious and just what he needed as a wake me up call! It's a good classic and can't go wrong with it. The VTM Tiger was also good, but almost a little too sweet. I think next time I'll go light on the brown sugar syrup, and it'll be 5/5 for me! This coffee shop was a little hard to find and park at for a first timer newbie like me. It's located in the middle of an office complex where Google and Equinox are. You have to park in the parking garage across the street and get your ticket validated at the counter as you're leaving. I set a timer on my phone so I would know how many hours I needed to have them validate me for. If you're only there to run in and get coffee for 15 minutes or so you should be fine. This coffee is crack! I had no warning prior to visiting so I'm telling all of you out there looking to visit this place for the first time: The caffeine here is no joke. You need food in your body and a long day ahead of you to burn off the energy this coffee is about to give you. Highly unrecommended for those with heart problems, high blood pressure or any human being after the hours of 2 pm if you want a decent night sleep that night. Seriously, caffeinated! I had the oat milk latte and an everything bagel with cream cheese, avocado and lemon pepper on top. Everything was delicious and affordable. There's a decent amount of seating inside and out. Would recommend for individuals looking to plug in and work for a few hours and meet ups of 2-3 guests indoors or 3-5 guests outdoors. They have an inspiration wall where many people have drawn and written fun phrases, jokes and quotes. If you bring a sharpie they'll let you contribute as well. Wifi was strong the entire 6 hours I was there. There are multiple outlet locations. The bathrooms are across the street in a building next to the parking garage. This was one of my top coffee places I wanted to try. But I wasn't very impressed. The service was just okay. I say that cause there was a lot of standing around and joking around. Didn't seem to conserved about the guests inside waiting for their coffee. This location was small, I'm not going to completely write this place off yet as I want to try this again at possibly another of their locations. The coffee, it wasn't amazing. I got the Original Vietnamese Iced Coffee, and it was flavorful with the right amount of sweetness. I've been drinking so much coffee recently that it doesn't affect me too much, but this coffee kept me super energized throughout the day! Disgusting fake coffee. Actual coffee lovers? Stay away. I asked what they had on drip they said a medium roast. I ordered a medium drip coffee and they proceeded to make me an Americano, espresso and hot water. This is not coffee and they flat out lied to me when I asked what was on drip. It is a beautiful st Patty's and I was craving a delicious coffee; I had heard about BLKdot but didn't know how to park here, so today my boyfriend drove and I made him figure it out. There is parking for 1.25 or something for the first 15 mins (located in a plaza that also has Google, Twenty eight a restaurant, and Equinox) I live fairly close so maybe I'll just walk next time as the plaza is pretty relaxing if you want to hang out and enjoy your coffee. Outside of BLKdot there are tables and chairs if you enjoy being out or want to bring your friendly pet. Upon entering the establishment you are greeted by a friendly barista and a case on your right with fun pastries, the walls have the menu written in modern chalk board walls giving the inside a very trendy vibe to it. The barista gave us a sample of their pop drink VTM coffee and I was sold, although I asked to have mine blended My boy ordered a sausage Banh Mi and he seemed to enjoy it pretty much because it was gone as soon as it was opened. I'm an a millennial I see avocado toast I'm going to get. I can say I regret that proclivity in this instance. This wasn't your run of the mill avocado toast. The sourdough bread was had a nice crunch while still being soft and toothesome. The cherry tomato's added a nice acidity to the creamy unctuousness of the avocado. BLKdot Coffee hits it all: quality, service, ambiance, innovation! This is the place to beat. Now if they only they offered my latest obsession, nitro cold brew... This place can be a bit tough to find if you don't know your way around, but it's essentially attached to the Google building and the parking structure next to it has exclusive parking just for BLKdot. Just remember to get your parking validated so it's free. When I first came out it was near closing and I had the good fortune of getting walked through the menu, the process behind each drink, and customizing my drink order to perfection. They offer samples of most drinks too in adorable mini disposable shot cups, and I would highly recommend taking advantage of this service as they offer a lot of interesting drinks. Most people are probably going to come here for the sweet stuff, which is excellent. The variety of drinks here is pretty serious. The VTM coffee is their vietnamese coffee which is sweet and strong, but don't underestimate the caffeine because it is no joke. They have a lighter (less sweet, less caffeine) version called LVTM you can try too. Also offered is the strange but alluring mojito, which is essentially a mojito with coffee instead of liquor. Creamy, lightly sweet, and a little bit of mint. Wonderful. As much as I enjoy the sweet drinks I tend to fall more towards the pure stuff these days, and get the cold brew when I come here which is always spot on delicious. They also have plenty of lounging so you can study, work, or sip your drink in peace. Perhaps my favorite coffee place at the moment, BLKdot does it right! Just don't confuse them for the fullerton BLK coffee which distributes fresh cold brew coffee around the county (also good)! read more

I looooove BLKdot! I'm serious when I say I crave it all the time - not sure if that's because of the flavor or because of the caffeine. If I'm wanting a hot drink, I'll usually go for their Vegan Spanish Latte (since I'm sensitive with milk, so they make it with Oat milk!) and it is delicious. For a cold drink, I'll go for their VTM or their VTM Frappe - which is made their signature Vietnamese coffee. I have to warn you - Vietnamese coffee in general is strong, but BLKdot's is on another level! If you need to stay up, it's definitely for you. I usually get the Frappe if I don't want to be cracked out all day (haha) and the frappe is super creamy and delicious! The atmosphere is nice and cozy, the staff is always friendly and it is a good place to study. They do have limited seating though and they do not have restrooms in store, so you have to go to the neighboring buildingg for the restroom. You can receive parking validation from them (up to three hours I believe?) but if you don't wanna go through that hassle there are also other BLKdot locations like at Spectrum and the Marketplace :) read more

Their VTM coffee is to die for. That's my usual order -- a 24 oz iced VTM coffee. It's really strong in flavor with a nice light vanilla aftertaste and so, so good. They offer a light version (LVTM) if the regular one is too strong for you. I prefer this location to the Tustin one just because the vibes are more it's more quiet and secluded. However, there's not as many tables or seating areas since it is located in a Google campus so most people take their coffee on the go. There are about 4-6 tables outdoors--it's a nice place to enjoy your drinks, get some work done, or chat with friends. You'll need to scope around for parking space though since most are reserved or paid parking. read more

Review is for the pure fact they are lazy. Their sign says they open at 6:30 yet they don't unlock until 7. Some days they take "Apple Pay" some days they can't and refuse you any sort of service. This has happened to me 2x in the last month. They've disabled pick up via Uber Eats. When I asked and pointed out the sign hours she said "ya that's an old sign" in typical Newport fashion. It was a CHALK SIGN. Easily changeable lol. It's extremely frustrating to drive across town, park in a parking garage and pay to park to get to the place that should accept your payment and they refuse. They do not take cash. I am a mom of a toddler, work full time and just need my crack. I'm looking to buy VTM elsewhere after today. I don't complain often but felt it was warranted today.
