After coming here a few times and liking the food and drinks I'm super disappointed. I tried to order two drinks off the website today and it said it would take 45 minutes, for two drinks. I decided to go to the location cause it has to be faster then the site. Walked in and there were two people in front of me and they were not being helped. There were two guys behind the counter making drinks so that's good but the didn't acknowledge people were in line or that one person was waiting to pick up an order it looked liked. Now I love their food and drinks but for the price (expensive) the service can be way better and faster. I want to give a better rating for this place but this was a bummer for sure. The outside of this smells like crap, it looks like the sidewalk is never washed & it's always sticky. I walk in, there's 2 workers chatting, I go to the register, the guy approaches & doesn't say a word so I politely greet him, then he says hi, very unenthusiastic. I wanted to ask what he recommends but after that I just asked for a hot Americano & asked him if there's sugar somewhere, he just points to the back. Note: this a cashless facility. So I pay, go to the back to wait for my coffee & the only options for sugar are stevia or sugar in the raw. There are no stirring sticks just napkins, already crappy service I ask my husband to grab our coffee & let's go. As he takes the first sip the lid pops open & HOT coffee spills on his hand! He was on the phone so he hangs up his call & we tossed the nasty tasting coffee away. Waste of $5. Cute place inside but everything else sucked. My usual is a lrg dulce vtm iced latte. After two weeks of picking up coffee here (on an off) I noticed they add a ton of ice. So today I requested light ice and got the same amount of ice. I completely understand portion control and wanting to achieve the perfect combo of flavors but it's such a rip off when you get a lrg drink but they stiff you about an inch of room from the top of the cup. It took 20+ minutes to complete my order (with us being first customers in store) and when my friend went up at 30min to ask about her order status she was handed someone else's order (completely different name and type of toast). When she took it back to let the staff know, they told her that "you must not have heard us call your name so someone else took your toast" and told her to just eat the other person's order. Fiiiiinally, a location closer to me. Gone are the days where I had to jump onto 2-3 different freeways to get my Blk Dot Coffee. Opened in Orange Circle (across from Bosscat/Urth), this store is a true coffee gem. Iced VTM is a highly addictive, strong and thick cup of coffee that will get you through the day. Mocha Frappe is also delicious and strong and refreshing during the summer days. Drinks are always spot-on, I've never been disappointed or had to ask for a re-make. Prices are a bit $$$ but it's a nice pick-me-up to start the day. Highly recommend adding this shop to your morning ritual. read more

I got a the Vietnamese iced coffee, very strong and rich like a good viet coffee. Too me it needed like a crushed ice in it but was good. My problem was that the total for two iced coffee was 14 dollars, and I wasn't asked large or reg and was charged for a large for both drinks and the cashier wasn't friendly or helpful. Went here for the first time the other day with my date since she mentioned she likes coffee. The menu had some interesting choices. I personally got the VTMatcha Coffee (Hot) and I enjoyed it. It had a strong matcha flavor which I liked. I would have been interested in trying a Frappe version of it but they did not have it on the menu, only offering 2 choices in the Frappe section. My date got the VTFrappe and she liked it as well. The inside of the store was well kept with some light decorations. Unfortunately, there isn't a lot room in the shop besides a couple of tables and chairs and it can get packed from what I saw while waiting. This location recently opened & I was extremely excited to try it. Do to the fact I'm a huge coffee connoisseur. However I did not make it but 1 foot in the door with my ESA dog before I was kicked out. I was so thrown back and confused that I left before even addressing shes my ESA dog. I am not sure if this company realizes but Old Towne Orange is extremely dog friendly. As most businesses have dog bowls out front and welcome fur kids with treats and smiles. Not only was my ESA dog not allowed (which is illegal) but they did it with zero tact and addressed it pretty poorly. I'm not one to be negative or leave crap reviews. So happy they opened one of these in Orange! The Light Vietnamese Iced Latte is such a treat. I can't have dairy and it's nice to be able to get that Vietnamese coffee taste with my milk of choice. I got an everything bagel and eggs and honestly the bagel was really good! It tasted fresh almost like a New York bagel. I love the ambience of this place. Yes it's small but it's just a cool little coffee spot. I wouldn't plan on sitting in here during morning rush. Avocado toast is delish also. I was helped around 9:08 in the morning on Friday, despite not being busy my 3 drinks took some time to make. After getting my drinks, one of them was not what I had ordered, she gave me a Thai tea even though I said chai, I politely told her I meant a chai tea and the barista said "I asked you 3 times and you said yes" didn't know I "varied" my drink 3 times and don't know where this snappy attitude is coming from at 9am. If she doesn't like what she does which by the attire and dirty sweater I can tell she was not in the mood to work. I have no fault that there was a misunderstanding and if she would have simply corrected it. I didn't need an attitude from her a simple mistake could be redone but clearly she's not in the correct mindset or location to do so. I would probably say that this coffee shop is a must for coffee lovers. The atmosphere is comforting and the baristas are really friendly. It was my first time trying this place out and also one of employees named Ethan was extremely pleasant with me and to many other customers as well, he has very good work ethic. This is is a nice coffee spot I like to splurge on some mornings before work. Their BEC bagel sandwich is super tasty and I am a fan of the BLK Tiger drink they have here. I always get mine less sweet since it is extra sweet and rich from the brown sugar. Their hot chocolate is pretty good as well. The only downside is the parking is pretty tough here since it is within the Orange Circle area and this a pricier spot for breakfast options. Nonetheless, the quality of their items is fantastic and worth the little extra cost when you feel like spoiling your palate a bit more & changing up your coffee spots. read more

I now live in Tennessee, and I've been craving legit Vietnamese iced coffee. I knew coming back to my hometown of orange that I would be able to get some. I was really happy to see that blk dot had opened at the orange circle, my old stomping grounds. There's actually a lot more places now at the circle, and they've only been gone for six months. I made an order online, so I just had to pick up. I arrived early on a Thursday morning around 8 AM and was lucky to find a spot in the actual circle. I walked the one block over to blk dot, which is behind byblos on Chapman. I walked in, and the blk dot looks just like the one I would go to from my old house in Irvine. I was merely greeted a warm welcome. My order was ready, which was a bottled Vietnamese iced coffee for home and a Matcha Vietnamese iced coffee drink with less ice. I immediately walked back to my car and was greeted by the delicious taste that I received from my drink. It was so sweet and very caffeinated, which was exactly what I was looking for. This definitely hit the spot and I'm happy to have bought one for home as well. I'll be back again soon. read more
