I'm a big fan of Drunken Noodles but the ones here were quite pedestrian. There was no option to change the spice, and it came with very little flavor beyond soy sauce. Interestingly, it came with a bag of soy sauce and chili sauce on the side, which didn't seem too authentic to me. The portion was on the smaller side but I did get the lunch special, which comes with a smaller entree portion size and wontons which I didn't care too much for. Their location was odd. The restaurant is tucked away in the back of a small commercial lot, yet they had a steady stream of customers throughout the lunch hour. This is a cute, quick spot to grab lunch/dinner! Right across from the business plaza near Coffee Bean off Town Center Dr., conveniently located if you're near the Summerlin area. The food quality here is pretty good, and stays consistent overall from the three times I have visited for a quick lunch break. I have tried the traditional pad kee mao, Thai bbq pork plate, & chicken Panang curry. All of them have been quite good, and you can tell they take pride in the quality of the ingredients that go into each dish. I wish their spice level was a bit more elevated, but that may be a subjective opinion. The restaurant is set up like a grab and go spot, so you order at the counter and they give you a number to go sit with at a table of your choice. The set up is like an Asian fast food joint. The food came out in about 10-15 minutes after we ordered on disposable trays. Food was good but the price is a tad high for the amount of food you get compared to another Thai restaurant of the same caliber. Pork Skewers ($14): This came with 4 skewers, a side of sauce, and sticky rice. We poured the sauce over the rice and skewers. It wasn't strong but complimented the meat and rice well. My husband and I decided to try Block 9 last week. It is located off the 215 freeway and Town Center in Summerlin. When we walked in, there was no hostess which indicated we needed to seat ourselves and order at the counter. The environment was simple and clean. An employee quickly brought us two menus to look over. We decided to order 4 different items to try which included the Thai Beef Salad and Pad Kee Mao with beef and also 2 sides, beef jerky and garlic spare ribs. I enjoyed my salad and my husband enjoyed his drunken noodles, but it wasn't as good as he's used to having at a full service Thai restaurant. The beef jerky was tasty, and the spare ribs were okay (not melt in your mouth or anything because of inedible tough parts). They were both very greasy and cooked in toxic seed oils, so not something we would order regularly. If they were cooked in tallow, lard, ghee, or butter we probably would eat here very often. Our bill was $62.44, so definitely on the pricey side for street food. We may or may not return in the future, but it was an interesting concept and food experience to say the least! read more

Non-Thai cashier was kind enough to reconfirm and ask a Thai staff who knew how to answer my question....if their spicy is American/Western spicy or Thai spicy? Lady said Thai spicy. This place is not Thai spicy. Mild/Low/Little Thai Spicy is Western high medium or lowest of highest spicy. So people who normally can eat very spicy foods would stick and enjoy to mild. Block 9 is a very good option for take out food in Summerlin. The people are friendly and the food is very consistent. Thai food is great but sometimes if you pick the wrong place it can taste like salty water that a chicken walked through and you will not find anything like that at Block 9 because it's tasty. It does tend to be a little spicy so be warned that if they ask how spicy, answer with caution or you could be lit on fire. Their shrimp friend rice is super and not at all greasy as sometime happens. They have a dish called Basil Chicken that is fantastic. It looks a little like what you might expect when ordering chicken lettuce wraps, but instead of the lettuce it has an egg on top and is great. My husband started with the e-saan sausages. They were presented very nice with lettuce, onions, and peanuts for wrapping. He usually enjoys most Asian sausage but these might be for an inquired taste. I got the basil eggplant with chicken. I asked for "Hot." I got zero heat. My eggplant tasted like oil, It was made with basil but the flavor didn't get infused and the whole thing tasted mostly like fish sauce. For me this was hard to eat......On the bright side the chicken in it was tender. My husband tried the drunken noodles with chicken. He asked for "HOT" but also received zero heat. I tasted one bite. It was worst than the eggplant dish to me. It tasted like bitter fish sauce. My husband thinks it got a bitter taste from the sour bitter Chinese broccoli in the dish. The chicken in dish was tender. It's been about 5 years since I've been here and forgot how amazing this place is. After having several bad Thai experiences in LA, I'm very appreciative that most Thai restaurants in Vegas are so so solid. My friend ordered the muy Thai fried rice with brown rice and the flavors were beyond. My go-to pad see ew was perfectly seasoned, and had a great protein to noodle to Chinese broccoli ratio. First of all lunch specials are not $11, I believe it was $12 so don't expect the price you see on here. We ordered the basil eggplant (Tasty and seasoned well) , pad thai (it was okay, thought it lacked few spices) and pad see ewe (good wok hey, hardly any meat on our dish tho) and a green curry (that was good, a must order for sure). I believe the owner offered us an upgrade on the curry for $2 more for a larger size but we declined. We did come a bit later than the normal crowd, closer to 2:30pm. There were maybe 2 other parties here besides us. I do understand it was towards the end of the lunch rush perhaps but the lady at the register did not seem too happy. Perhaps they had a lunch rush and was tired. I am not sure. When we asked for water, we did get a pitcher and some small cups for us but we never got a refill nor did anyone asked to see if everything was okay. I would've really liked some chilis to go with my food. I do feel that some of these dishes have been tamed down for the American palate. All these dishes comes with 2 pieces of fried wontons for lunch specials. The wontons were nice and crispy. They were a nice addition to the lunch special. I definitely wouldn't recommend getting the lunch special and try to split it upon your parties, it's too small and you just get a bite to share.
