Tried this place for the first time and was not let down. Good quality food service quick and with friendly service. I got the BB-LTA with the egg and truffle fries. Very filling and very good. Family got the pot roast- could only eat half because of the size and the Reuben. All very good. Also thank you for opening a new business and not "Castle Rock pricing" it. Sunday brunch was awesome. The atmosphere was great, the server was efficient and friendly. We waited about 10 minutes for a table for two. The restaurant was packed so we were pleasantly surprised that we were seated so quickly. The food was fantastic and it came out quickly. A plus to this place is that it's right next to a parking garage. Finding parking in downtown Castle Rock can be a pain so that was very convenient. Will definitely be going back soon. read more

I ordered the avocado toast with cheesy eggs. The restaurant itself was nice and clean but the food was terrible. Avocado had black marks on it and tasted like refrigerator. The bacon visibly looked ashy, for lack of a better description - like it was at least a day old and reheated. Service was also subpar. Wouldn't return. read more

Has a lot of potential, but misses the mark. We enjoyed the bacon wrapped shrimp as an appetizer (good spice to it), but the main dishes were lackluster. The BLT sandwich in particular had the makings of a good sandwich but missed on execution. To start, the sandwich was dry and lacked sufficient sauce for texture. The little mayonnaise that was added could be improved by switching to an aioli instead. The bread was a simple white bread thinly sliced, and could be improved by switching to a more interesting bread such as rye or chibatta and perhaps more thickly sliced. The bread was also over-buttered, leaving for a very greasy experience when paired with the bacon and pork belly. I can't remember which salad my wife had, but when we saw cheddar cheese we knew that this was a McDonald's style salad and did not meet expectations. A little investment on better ingredients and flavor combinations could lead to big improvements. read more

Ok so the reason I am only doing 3 stars is that I asked the server if they had a non-alcohol beer. He said sorry they do not. He then went on to say that lots of people ask though. So that leads me to think that either the servers don't pass on that info to management or management doesn't listen to what customers are asking for. There are so many good craft and other NA beers out and it is very low risk to bring in a few 6 packs of NA beer to show you are a mindful restaurant. We spent $400 as a group here last night but won't be headed back until they show they are listening to their customers. read more

This place was awesome! We were trying to accommodate a group who wasn't comfortable with indoor dining. Block & Bottle has a patio open all winter long. They have heat lamps and a fire, which makes those cold nights more comfortable with being outside. The service was great! They even brought us out a fresh plate of fries without us asking. My husband loved his burger. My daughter devoured her grilled cheese, and I liked my salad. There is something for everyone and the ambiance is great! I highly recommend! read more

We have tried several of the newer places in downtown CR, so far our favorite for the price and food. I had the Ahi salad and (unlike a previous review) my Ahi was seared perfectly! Light and fresh salad with just enough protein. My husband had a burger and rosemary fries. He said it was one of the best burgers in CR (and we love a one of the big burger places in CR). The rosemary fries were not overpowering with just enough spice. Staff were super friendly! We will definitely be back...soon!! read more

Was excited to try this new place but was let down from the beginning. It took 3 staff to decide if we were allowed to sit at a booth in the shade, instead of the direct sun, in spite of 8-10 tables being available. The ginger cocktail was fabulous. We got the queso and pork rinds to start. The rinds were fresh but could have been seasoned better. I've had better queso at gas stations. I ordered the stroganoff and I don't know who taught the chef how to make this dish but they definitely were not remotely Russian. Though the fried leek on top was quite tasty. My partner got the pot roast. It was a hard lump of meat; needed to be way more tenderized. The gravy was probably purchased at King Soopers. 2 stars for tasty cocktails and a friendly server but the meal was one of the worst we've had. You know it's bad when you have to walk across the street and purchase a 2nd dinner. read more

Tried this place today for the first time with my husband after wanting to try it for a while. While the service was good and our waitress was so nice, the food fell flat unfortunately. Tried the artichoke dip appetizer, which lacked flavor, bread was burnt and crackers not the best. Tried the chicken bites appetizer, which were very tasty and seasoned well. Husband had the lamb shank and it lacked flavor and came out like soup spilling all over. He could barely eat two bites. I had the Cesar salad with cajun dressing, which was well dressed and a good portion for a small salad. Drinks were ok, but I would likely get something else next time. Let me start with, I realize not everyone has the same taste and some people may love this food but it wasn't for us. Being a new restaurant in town we anticipated more modern, fresh, and healthy options. It's more like comfort food and burgers. Which is ok for some. There were absolutely no gluten free options except for a few salads. Most entrees came with gravy. It just felt more like a diner. We tried Block and Bottle for happy hour on the Friday before Christmas. It was busy when we got there and the hostess was majorly stressed out. I felt bad for her but first impression was pretty poor. We felt like we were being an imposition by coming to eat there. I think they were understaffed because the drinks from the bar took a long time. Kitchen service was pretty good. We order two appetizers, the bacon wrapped shrimp and the muscles. Both were kind of eh. My husband had a ham and cheese and he said it was good. We will probably give it another try but this night it was pretty disappointing. First time at one of downtown Castle Rocks new establishments. Cool environment/atmosphere and both food and service were very good. My wife had the Block Reuben which was well put together and loaded with corned beef. I had the Colorado Hot Chicken sandwich which was "huuuge" and excellent.
