Tried this restaurant in Castle Rock on Friday evening. Seated right away. Lone Tree Mexican Lager was excellent served in chilled glass with lime. We ordered a trout sandwich and a corned beef burger - both with the recommended truffle fries. Food came out promptly and perfect. Service was excellent! We will return soon!!! read more

While the food here is usually great the service consistently sucks. It takes far too long for a server to address the table. The sad part is they are never really that busy when we come in. Yet we wait typically over 30 minutes just to order a drink. Today was the last straw when we waited 40 minutes to get a drink order in and the server was clearly annoyed with us for asking for someone to serve us!!! After our first sodas sat empty for over 20 minutes my sister had to walk up to the bar with the glasses just to get them filled!!!! For the prices they charge and the service they offer this place is a joke and this is the last time I will be coming. My apologies to the chefs - you guys are the only good thing this place has. read more

We only just discovered this place because we usually eat at the other end of downtown Castle Rock. We were very excited to try a new spot & the inside looked modern but casual. The staff were all super nice and attentive & parking is easy at the free garage next door. My husband & I got the tiki cocktail, margarita, the ultimate grilled cheese, & the bleau cheese gnocchi. We were perfectly satisfied with everything & I have to give a shot out to such a bold dish as the gnocchi. As one of the few humans on earth who loves bleau cheese, this dish was made for me & the onion strings are such a nice salty compliment. It's a bunch of different ingredients you'd never imagine together & it works! We definitely plan to come back & try their brunch as well as more of their dinner fantastic menu. read more

Second time in here this week. It's been nice finding this gem. I love that there is both traditional restaurant food, but also unique food. We have had the Ruben and stroganoff. The ruben is not mushy, the bread is fantastic and the meat and kraut are in good proportion. The stroganoff flavor is rich and the larger noodles are fun. Could have used some more noodles though. read more

So wild to me that this place has decent reviews. We went in for breakfast with friends and we were the ONLY table in the restaurant. It took our server 15 minutes to come out and take our drink order. Then another 20 for our food. We had to get up and walk over to him to hand him the bill. Food was gross, too. read more

We showed up without a reservation right before Starlighting. The hostess went out of her way to find a space for eight of us at happy hour. Service was excellent, the food was yummy, and we had a wonderful time. read more

My friend and I decided to try this place for brunch! The service was great! The mimosa was the perfect ratio of orange juice to alcohol. For my entree, I got the French toast and a side of bacon. Both were delicious! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant! It was a great place to spend some time catching up with a friend over good food. read more

The homies & I went there hungover after a long night of kicking it. We were able to be seated promptly. I believe our Servers name was Mary. Regardless, the service was great! The food was great as well. Pictured is lobster eggs Benedict (it slapped). Watch your bill, they tried to charge me for one refill on coffee...and then blamed the error on management. Server was unattentive; they never returned once to our table after our food was served until they drop off the bill. Not going back. read more

Been to Block and Bottle in Castle Rock twice now. The food was delicious, even though we brought it home both times. The first time we ordered the chicken under a brick, which was tender and tasty and the Colorado hot chicken, whose flavor profile was perfectly balanced between slightly sweet and spicy. The second time, we ordered a few different burgers. Again, all outstanding and cooked perfectly medium. The bar opens to the covered outdoor courtyard patio, which has a long fire pit to keep warm on cooler days. The interior is very nicely appointed -- modern and comfortable. Love this brand new restaurant! Will be returning again and again! read more

New place. Free parking garage near to the East, otherwise street parking. Ruthie gave outstanding service to a group of 12! The Black Reuben $18 was very good, truffle fries needed tobe more crispy. Wife had dry Hot grilled Chicken sandwich $18 which was great. Others had good burgers. Salids were large and fresh. Tried several pricy appitizers....all good but I would just order the meal and save money! Bar drinks pricy but strong, good beer selection and Coke products. Four, Very clean large bathrooms. We picked this place as we were on I 25. It was fabulous for breakfast . I had the salmon avocado toast and my husband had the pot roast with eggs. Neither of us were disappointed. The rest rooms were gorgeous. 40 ish dollars for the two of us. Thank you for a fine dining experience. read more

A Saturday evening at the Block & Bottle with family, delicious food, and great service! We were seated at a booth along the back wall and started with apps (bacon-wrapped shrimp and salmon crostini) YUM! My favorite sandwich is definitely the smoked trout salad croissant served with truffle fries. The burgers with melted cheese are perfectly cooked, paired with tasty items like bacon, avocado, caramelized onions, or hatch chiles and served on a fresh, soft bun. Service was friendly and prompt. BUT... there is a problem! Every time the door opened, the freezing night air poured into the restaurant! We were seated far away from the front door, but had to put on our coats to eat our dinner. Go for brunch but stay away for dinner!! The ambiance needs some work - lights are way too bright at night & they draw attention to the weird way they covered the kitchen windows. Also, I know I shouldn't complain about seafood in this landlocked area, but they had NO IDEA how to make seared tuna...so it shouldn't be on the menu. I had a craving so made the mistake of ordering it. Do NOT do it - trust me. I'll add a pic later. They ruined it and no apology / discount or anything.. :-/ On the flip side, Laney (sp?) during brunch is awesome- have had her 3 times & tried a bunch of stuff on the brunch menu- Monte Christo, Chicken & Waffles, the waffle w/berries- all delicious. We visited for the first time and made a reservation since it was our anniversary. We didn't need it: late on a Friday morning, only about a third of the restaurant had diners. Still, it is great that they take reservations. Our server Catalina was extremely friendly, professional and attentive. She promptly seated us and took our drink order, and our food order soon after. We all decided to order brunch. The corned beef hash was fresh and pleasantly had more meat than potatoes. The French toast and the stuffed French toast were delicious and the portions were generous. We splurged and also ordered the dessert donuts. These were good but a bit dry and would have been better with a sauce instead of vanilla creme. The only downside of our visit was a district fish odor near the second half of our meal, like there had been a seafood delivery? But otherwise, we loved the space, the food, the music and especially the service. We will be back to try it for dinner. read more

I traveled down here from North Denver to hear what the talk was about. The food was absolutely phenomenal! I had the Colorado Hot Chicken Sandwich and it was AMAZING! I decided to make a second trip and the food is still incredible. I got the pork entree. The atmosphere is wonderful and the staff are very friendly and attentive. I recommend the Old Fashioned if you're a whiskey kind of person. Castle Rock has something special with Block & Bottle. Amazing! read more

We just left Block and Bottle and have to say it was excellent. We sat in the bar at the high top tables where the service was great . We split the Beef Pot Roast Dip which came out so hot and fresh. It was so good that my husband was sorry that we split it. Alex, our first bartender was so outgoing and nice, until he had to leave. Then came Natalie. She started out as our bartender and it got so busy that she turned into a do-it-all assistant manager, helping every where she could. She was running around crazy, she is absolutely the sweetest most wonderful person. Really wish we could have talked to her more! We will definitely be back. read more

After meeting with the owner, John, I have come to respect the restaurant business more. With higher inflation and trouble finding sustainable sources for quality meats - I needed to recant my earlier review of 1 star. The employees there are what make the restaurant run and being a new restaurant to Castle Rock - there are growing pains and ups and downs that happen. John was very open and informative. He is doing what he can to make Block and Bottle a staple for the community and I can really appreciate that. I felt heard about my personal experiences and complaints on some of the quality of food that I have had - I know that things are going to be better in the future and I'm excited to see the new menu items and the culture change back to a positive happy environment that I am looking to invest my time in. Went for brunch with a friend who ordered the Chicken and waffles. She made me taste hers and it was awesome. I, on the other hand, ordered my all time favorite, Eggs Benedict Florentine. The order was first served without the spinach so they took it back to fix it up. When it came back it came without the ham and the English muffins was soaked, likely with the water from the eggs which were grossly undercooked. I did go back and get the chicken and waffles a few weeks later and it was OK but still only 3 stars. Will not be one of my "go to's" read more

My wife and I went to this restaurant and my wife is a very finicky eater...me not so much... I ordered the mussels & Chorizo appetizer and it was absolutely amazing, probably one of the best appetizers I've ever eaten. My wife ordered the ham & cheese sandwich and she absolutely loved it. I also ordered the Regular hamburger with cheese and bacon and it was delicious! The food is a bit pricey but you get what you pay for and this restaurant will definitely be one that we visit a few times a month. I've read a lot of of reviews on this place and mine is about the same: It wasn't awful - and it wasn't great. Drinks were pretty good but the food was not a big hit at our table. However, my pot roast sandwich was very good. Burgers were very boring and mediocre at best. Our server, can't recall her name, was very nice, helpful and attentive, so I'd rate the service a 4. My view from the booth we were in was of the kitchen and staff. I have to say I was impressed with the fact that many were actually cleaning when they had nothing to do! This is a big plus in my book. But alas, the food just wasn't rocking our worlds. There were six of us and we ordered a variety of lunch plates and I got to taste from everyone's plate. Again, my pot roast sandwich was the hit (and was recommended from the server when I asked her if I should get that or the burger.) She very quickly said "the pot roast sandwich." Found that interesting until the burgers showed up, then it was obvious. Glad she was honest with me!. We probably won't go back, sorry. read more

I got a fairly simple/plain meal in the avocado toast and cheesy eggs, but it was done well! Very tasty! The restaurant had a very modern feel to it and made it a great place to catch up with a college friend. If I hadn't been hungover I would have tried one of their cocktails because they looked tasty! Our waiter was great, checking in on us throughout the meal, not too much but not too little - just the right amount. I would love to go back when I next get back to Castle Rock! read more
